THIS HAS MADE AN ACTUAL DIFFERENCE IN MY LIFE!!

Implementing this has improved how I feel about myself, and HOW I SEE OTHER PEOPLE!!

I’m not a burden to put up with. I’m a person who deserves respect, but does have some idiosyncrasies.

Other people aren’t barely tolerating me, they’re being patient and considerate and working hard to be polite.

And I find that when I acknowledge the good I see in other people, they feel respected and appreciated.

saying “thank you for being patient with me” when someone is trying to teach me something new and I’m struggling to grasp it has been a game change for me. like not only does it make the other person feel appreciated, it also acknowledges that yes, they ARE putting in effort to be patient and also it helps reinforce for me that the new skill is a process and if the other person will be patient with me, then maybe i should be patient with me too.

SO much better than “oh sorry i’m so bad at this” or smth like that
