literally the only way to see the true reblog count atm is loading all reblogs in the reblog graph which is the most inconvenient shit ever. roll it back, tumblr, good lord. I need to like make a chart to explain what I'm saying like. I am straight up not even talking about reblogs with comment being their own posts and stealing notes from op. I am talking about bare reblogs with no comments. because somehow these are affected even though they shouldn't be.

every reblog in the chart I presented is a bare, no comment reblog. and yes, reblogging from ANY of the ones in green including the self-reblog doesn't add to the total reblog count. only reblogging DIRECTLY from the ORIGINAL POST does. for some reason.

the real number of reblogs in this case would be 8. the SHOWN, VISIBLE number on the post itself would be 4. and you would only be able to see the tags of the green reblogs in the reblog tab, you would NOT be able to see the tags of the ones in red. for some reason. literally the only way you can access them is through the reblog graph.

It is absolutely baffling to me that a social media site would deflate the numbers on the posts. You know, one of the things that keeps people hooked to social media.

We should all be talking about KOSA. The bill would mean the end of the open internet in the US, and it was just approved by a House committee for a floor vote. The act is ostensibly designed to regulate the age of social media users. However, it actually deanonymizes the internet and allows the government to sue LGBTQ+ websites.

Unsurprisingly, the Heritage Foundation is one of the main lobbying groups behind this push. They have publicly stated they want to use the law to restrict LGBTQ+ and abortion-related content. Blocking children under 16 from accessing the internet means young people will be isolated within their communities. They cannot discuss LGBTQ+ issues with their online peers. They could not request help to access abortion clinics. Senator Marsha Blackburn, who once personally sent the FBI to my doorstep to harass me, admits the law is intended to shield “minor children from the transgender [sic] in this culture.”

“The through-line couldn’t be clearer: destroying online anonymity is a way for government to be able to identify ¬— and ultimately punish — dissenters,” explains Ari Cohn, lead counsel for tech policy at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression. The DHS has already subpoenaed hundreds of anonymous accounts tracking and protesting ICE. KOSA would make it even easier for the government to access your data.

We’ve literally seen in real time how ChatGPT has caused psychosis and delusions in people; it can have a huge affect on someones’s mental stability.
