Asexism A- (away from/without, as in Abinary), sexism (as in exorsexism, as in cissexism) The oppression that comes from being outside of, and by extension unaligned with the 2 binary genders, feminine and/or masculine. A subset of Exorsexism, but describes an experience specific to itself. Intended for use by Abinary people.

What was it made for? For Abinaries to be able to safely talk about their oppression without confusion or harrassment from non-abinaries. Asexism was not intended to be used within discussions that center non-abinaries (ex. a discussion primarily speaking on exorsexism/transphobia towards multigender people) and I am staunchly against my words being used to forward things like (trans)misogyny, racism, intersexism, sexual abuse apologia and anything similar.

I had originally thought of Degenderism considering it’s more concise and less repetitive language that references the one existing gendered social role we’re (along with other groups under certain conditions, also highlighting the intersections with other types of oppression) afforded, which is the degendered—and thus dehumanized—class. But at the last second i scrapped it and went for something more tame. I still regret it, but it would take alot more explanation than Asexism does. I felt like it might start arguments from the people who have been degendered without being Abinary taking the word at it’s face value without understanding the idea behind it, and i really dont want to be that person to anybody. If Asexism doesnt capture it well enough, though, maybe it’s a viable alternative that can explain the concept better. I’d probably need more opinions & reception to garner if i should have stuck with my original idea though. Maybe i’ll open asks or something.

you people have to become more accepting of abinary dysphoria because it does not cut it to go “just get over yourself”. ceasing to exist is my “transition goal” because humanity in all ways isnt built to house me. i have no support system. i have to personally be palatable to my peers, online and offline, and however they want to discriminate against me in casual conversation every single day and if i dont act like whatever gender they, personally, want me to (which is constantly changing for every person, all “model expectations” equally as violently wrong and demeaning) i am harrassed for it. i am constantly on the verge of homelessness and i know that nobody would take me in, nobody would care for me if i wasnt constantly degrading myself for their pleasure. gendered society wants only to break me and put me back together in their image. because i will not, i cannot, defang myself, i will always face violence. violence from cis people, trans people, nonbinary people, the list goes on. for as long as i am here, i am not safe. if there is no change, i will not keep living.

The more i’m in generally transmasc populated spaces i do genuinely get the idea that some of them do actually believe being a trans man/transmasc (or just, their specific identity) is inherently closer to nonbinarism than if one was transfem. Im thinking it may be because they genuinely believe all nonbinaries apart from, like, maybe a few (usually just seen as cis men or trans women) are “theyfabs” and somehow that makes them inherently more intertwined equal communities (which is just bioessentialist and flagrantly untrue/manufactured?). That and masculine defaultism.

It seems to me that most binarily aligned trans people think that being gnc/having been nonbinary for some time in their life while discovering themselves absolves them of the idea that they have any privilege over (mostly abinary) nonbinaries. I’m thinking this idea also applies to gender apathetics and people exclusively oppressed by way of bigender-specific exorsexism. It is often these people who encourage exorsexism, and when called out, they will hail themselves as this infallible nonbinary figure (even though these people are not interested in nonbinarism when it is not binary centered, if at all). Just because you are affected by one axis of oppression does not make you affected by all of them. It still gives you privileges other people do not have.

also while i’m here why do so many people just post “what about nonbinary people” in favor of criticizing transfems? can we talk about the prevalent enbyphobia in the transmasc community? can we talk about the many trans men who make or have made comments disparaging nonbinaries and regularly get away with it? or is this just to further an agenda to make yourself look good

Proposal to people wanting to make a nonbinary (gender-neutral) character:

Just dont. You wont do it well and it’ll piss a whole bunch of people off. I have honestly become disillusioned with every attempt at representation we get. Maybe i’m just a perfectionist, but you will never get it so long as our society exists outside of a vaccuum. Just stop trying. It’s frankly insulting.

The nonbinary experience is so unique in that both transmasc and transfem communities hate you (even the nonbinaries who have chosen their covens in self hatred) and yet you’re expected to shut up and take it or else you’ll be accused of everything under the sun because you’re supposed to like being a punching bag

Not to say that being harrassed is a uniquely nonbinary thing. But we are often shunned into compliance by two *larger and more stable* communities by speaking out on any experiences we may have while also dealing with hatred from cis people daily. The nonbinary community is so used to punishment that they actively self flagellate. I have never seen a community so determined to fawn for the abuser.

Just incase you are someone who found my latest post and believed i’m forbidding trans mascs and/or lesbians from using nonbinary tags: I did not say any of that in my post and did not intend to say transmascs and/or lesbians do not deserve to be using nonbinary tags. You are willfully misinterpreting me (and nitpicking my wording). For people who seriously just do not get it, and incase you havent actually already read the 2 times where i stated this, THE POST IS ABOUT REPRESENTATION. I’m trying to get people to ask themselves why this spotlight on ONE SPECIFIC PART OF THE COMMUNITY, THAT HAPPENS TO EXIST CLOSER TO THE BINARY happens and who benefits from it. (THE ANSWER IS BINARY PEOPLE, incase your persecution complex is so severe that you still think im saying “trans man bad”.) The exorsexist part is because i have noticed most often that binary-identifying nonbinaries (which are, commonly, transmasc or lesbian) will actively have internalized exorsexism in of themselves, and encourage exorsexist sentiment from binary folks, or simply just not do anything for the nonbinary community because they dont care, in exchange for centering themselves around binary communities (which are much larger, and have more social status). Which not all of us can or ever want to do.

If you’re upset about me highlighting this in my own way, and cant extend any amount of understanding towards other people who dont identify as transmasc, maybe you’re part of the problem. And also your identity and how you present yourself/what spaces youre in unfortunately do not exist inside a vacuum and very much are political i.e androcentrism. Is binarycentrism a word? Due to a pattern I've been frustrated by in conversations about gender, sex, and trans-ness, i've taken to calling nonbinary and intersexed folks the "and-also"s

The forgotten, the thing added on at the very end, the barely acknowledged and rarely included. Not a member or a guest, just a plus one at a party that was supposedly "for everyone."

Nonbinary tumblr tags, summarized #Nonbinary: Mostly just transmascs and random bullshit but still probably the best tag #Enby: Almost exclusively just transmascs. #Enbian: 50% lesbians or transmascs (probably looking to be exorsexist to nonbinaries). I dont think we should be pushing for nonbinary people not to get surgery. It is more important we let nonbinary people know there are other options before letting someone completely give up on themselves. So many times, we have our gender affirming care illegalized, sex-segregated, and medically/financially gatekept from us. So many times i have heard “i wish i didnt have genitals but that’s an unrealistic goal hahaha”. So many times. These poor people do not know it is an option. Doctors dont even know that it’s an option. I’m sure it’s likely similar for bigenital surgeries, and all other surgeries outside of the commonly pushed “transfem/transmasc” options. It is genuinely dangerous, right now, to be pushing for nonbinary people to just settle for how they are, because it’s likely that they dont know they have options outside of that.

I dont usually speak about things like this, but no, i dont think nonbinary people should “reclaim” terms liks theyfab/theymab. That seems counterintuitive to sex abolition. I think we should continue to live without AGAB and cultivate our own spaces where these things are not only irrelevant but also unsignified. It should be taken as oversharing (and, also, digital self-harm/endangerment) to reveal your presumed genital situation.

The only thing stopping us all from unionizing is some people’s reluctance to move away from ingrained bioessentialism, usually out of a loneliness they will never cure. It is deep ingrained trauma taught to us by 99% of the world. I hope these people win their fight, but i will continue to hold them at arms length, because i dont want to be involved in such an ideology.
