Me instead of studying, spreading my Treikei, Leovil and homewrecker rook propaganda, slightly angsty
*In the mirror chamber*
Leona: Why am I here again? We just had a meeting last week.
Vil: Yeah, so they're actually kind of a weekly thing.
Leona: That's bullshit.
Vil: Just go to sleep if it bothers you that much.
Leona: There's no where to sleep
Trey: *Texting*
Jamil: Cater?
Trey: Yep.
Riddle: It's infuriating.
Trey: Just be glad he's my problem and not yours
Floyd: WHAT IS UP!?
Leona: Oh fuck me why is he back?
Azul: Jade's still sick.
Vil: Leona doesn't even have Ruggie with him! You have no excuse!
Azul: Yeah I do, my excuse is that Jade is sick
Floyd: Speaking of which, where is the Remora?
Leona: Some shit about studying and having homework, loser
Trey:...Leona we have homework.
Leona: Does it look like I give a shit?
Trey: Touche.
Vil: Is that why you're so unkempt?
Leona: What's that supposed to mean?
Vil: It means you look like you just crawled out of a dumpster.
Leona: Says you
Vil: WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!?
*Everyone else groans*
Idia: I can't fucking do this anymore *Disconnects*
Riddle: *To Trey* Were they always this bad?
Trey: It was actually worse when they were together
Jamil: I'm sorry what?
Kalim: NO WAY!
Leona and Vil: *Still fighting*
Trey: Yeah, they dated for like a year an a half
Azul: What happened?
Trey: No one knows, one day they just stopped hanging out
Riddle: what were they like before that?
Trey: Egregiously horny
Floyd: Like you and Cater?
Trey: No- Well- not to that extent.
Riddle: Sevens, really?
Trey: Don't make it sound like I'm some sort of freak okay. But no, they were horrendous. Everytime they walked past eachother, ass was getting slapped.
Jamil: Whose ass?
Trey: Point is, it's better this way.
*Back to the divorcees*
Vil: YOUR CURLS ARE SCREAMING!
Leona: MY CURLS ARE NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!
Azul: Leona has curls?
Lilia: *Spawns* They were the most beautiful curls to ever exist
Second years: *flinch*
Trey: oh hey Lilia
Lilia: what are they fighting about now?
Trey: Honestly no idea.
Leona: WHO ARE YOU TO TELL ME HOW TO TAKE CARE OF MY HAIR!
Vil: THE ONE WHO HAS TO LOOK AT YOU!
Leona: GET A LIFE!
Vil: *Stands up and slams the table* GET A FUCKING BONNET! *Storms out, pushing past Malleus as he enters*
Leona: GET LAID!
Rook: *follows* Don't you worry about that Poilu~
Leona: *Realises* I'm gonna kill that guy
Malleus: What-
Leona: You get the fuck out! I'm not fucking dealing with you right now!
Malleus: I-
Leona: GET THE FUCK OUT!
Malleus: *Turns around*
Trey:...Leona?
Leona: *Staring intensely at his feet* I'm gonna kill him
Kalim: Oh shit I think he might actually kill Rook
Jamil: That or he's gonna overblot again
Kalim: Jamil!
Jamil: What? Is it not okay for ME to make overblot jokes
Trey: Leona, I think you should head back to Savanclaw before you do anything you'll regret
Leona: Do you want to be next, Trey?
Trey: Definitely not.
Leona: Then I suggest you stay out of this.
Trey: I still think you should go back to your dorm and calm down, maybe have a nap?
Leona: Whatever. *Leaves*
Floyd: What the fuck just happened?
Trey: Lilia, go find Yuu
Riddle: trey, what's going on?
Trey: We finally know why they broke up.

this is the best your getting out of me for a few weeks. My trials start tmr and any other NESA victim will know the pain😔 So...enjoy this while I do this absolute shit for the next two weeks until I have time to cook up this saga
Ok so I’m writing a twst series rn and it basically follows the main game with romance subplot (debating between Jack and Ace lmk who you’d prefer) and I’m considering making the last few chapter about reader overblotting but who TF would her overblot represent?! Fucking Mickey Mouse? Walt Disney?!
Not me doing actual research on wolves like I'm in year 6 just because I wanna see what dumb shit I can make Jack do and it technically be canon
so far im looking at muzzle biting its a thing wolves do to express affection and its so freaking cute so I'm literally just imagining Jack like gently biting Yuu's cheek or something and them just accepting it as part of their weird dog boyfriend
TWISTED WONDERLAND IS A DATING SIM IN DISGUISE I SWEAR TO FUCK!
Im on book 4 rn so no spoilers please
Book 1! I COULD FEEL THE CHEMISTRY RADIATING FROM YUU AND DEUCE DONT ASK QUESTIONS I JUST FELT IT
Book 2 and 3! YUU WAS ROPING JACK INTO SOME DUMB SHIT AND HE JUST WENT ALONG WITH IT IF THATS NOT DEVOTION IDK WHAT IS! I WAS HONESTLY A LITTLE OFFENDED WHEN I DIDN'T GET A KISS GOODBYE WHEN HE WENT HOME
AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON MALLEUS! KISS ME OR GET OFF MY PROPERTY
That is all. For tumblr political reasons this is all a joke
CW: Jack acting like an actual dog/wolf but still being the most incredible beautiful boyfriend in the world, Rookvil (My beautiful boys)
Back to Masterlist
It was a slow day at Night Raven College, you had finished up all your classes and Vil had invited you to Pomefiore for tea and gossip. Vil had practically adopted you as a mentee for all things beauty and social after being so deeply moved by your beauty (he wasn't the only one).
So here you were, sitting under a gazebo on a warm afternoon with the Pomefiore housewarden sipping tea from ornate teacups.
"I must ask, Y/n," Vil started, setting down his teacup. "You're seeing Jack Howl, correct?"
You nodded and sipped your tea.
"Almost 8 months now." You smiled with small patches of heat forming on your cheeks.
"Right, good for you," He continues. "But is he more a boyfriend," Vil rests his chin on the back of his hand. "Or a pet?"
You thought that would be the type of question to offend you, but it actually got you thinking.
"I don't know," You pondered. "He's mostly very sweet."
Jack had his arm around your shoulders as you watched a movie in the Ramshackle common room. His eyes kept drifting away from the TV screen to you as you lay your head against his chest. You glanced up briefly and caught him staring down lovingly at you.
"What are you looking at?" You raised a cheeky eyebrow at him.
"You." He replied with even more cheek.
"Stop watching me and watch the movie," You gestured to the screen. "You know I hate it when people keep asking questions during a movie."
He let out a gruff chuckle and leaned his head against yours.
"Ok then."
You grabbed the remote and turned the volume up.
"Then again he does shed a lot." You shrugged. Vil let out an amused huff of laughter.
"Sheds?"
"Yes, sheds."
Cleaning Ramshackle was a task you weren't exactly excited to do but it was a necessary woe. That woe got worse when you kept finding strands of silver fur in the carpet, your clothes, and in your bed. With a heavy sigh, you yelled.
"JACK LUPUS HOWL!"
It was followed by a thud as Jack tripped over his own feet while cleaning. He wasn't uncoordinated, just terrified of hearing his government name in the same tone his mother used to scold him with.
"Uh y-yeah!" He replied, fear in his usually intimidating voice.
"WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT SHEDDING!"
Jack sighed.
"I can't help it!"
"I swear to Jesus Christ himself I'll start making you wear a plastic bag!"
Jack wasn't entirely sure who Jesus Christ was, but he got the idea.
"Wow so like, actually sheds?" Vil continued to question.
"Yes, it's a nightmare."
"Ok, well what about love languages?" Before you could give Vil an answer, Rook approached the gazebo with a porcelain platter, little pastries carefully arranged on the surface.
"Care for some petites douceurs?" Vil gave him a look that you would only see in romantic noirs and Rook reciprocated.
"Thankyou, Darling." Vil said as Rook placed the platter on the table.
"Thank you, Rook!" You smiled politely as he headed back into the main building. "Wow, he really loves taking care of you huh?"
Vil nodded.
"It gets excessive at times but he does love to dote on me."
"Ugh, you two are like actual power couple goals."
"Enough about my love life, I want to get back to yours."
You giggled and thought for a moment.
"I guess Jack is pretty into the "whole acts of service" thing as well."
Why Vil decided that you needed to wear heels to the Scarabia party is beyond your comprehension. The little buckle was evading your press ons and you were honestly considering going barefoot at this point. Jack walked into the bedroom, dressed up for the party, and saw you struggling.
"Here, let me help you." He gets on one knee in front of you and gently lifts your foot to prop against his leg. Jack tightened the strap with ease, looking up at you to make sure it wasn't too tight which you assured him it wasn't. He nodded and repeated the process with your other heel.
Jack set you foot down with a gentle pat to your calf as he offered his hand to help you stand up. You looped your arm around his as you made your way to the party.
"I'm still blaming you for that," You took a bite of one of the little pastries Rook had delivered, chewing and swallowing before speaking. "those heels hurt like shit."
"But you felt beautiful in them right?"
"...yeah..." You still pointed an accusatory finger at him. "But they still hurt."
"Don't point, My Dear, it's rude."
"Sorry."
In the early hours of the morning, you were incredibly tired as you left the party with Jack. It didn't look like Kalim was settling down anytime soon so Jamil took the liberty of leading you guys out of the dorm.
"Thanks for coming guys," He said. "I know this isn't really your kind of thing Jack."
"It's rude to turn down an invitation." Jack shrugged.
"Yeah, Sebek said he couldn't make it to this one and guess who had to hear about it?" Jamil pressed his lips together in a tight, irritated line.
You hissed through your teeth.
"Shit, sorry about that, we'll bully him about it next time we see him."
Jack looked at you, slightly confused and concerned.
"No we won't."
"No we won't." You repeated, now looking blankly at Jamil.
"Please do," He raised his hand in a lazy wave as he turned to head back inside. "Get back safe!"
You and Jack waved back to him.
"Good luck, Jamil!" You called before turning around to head to the mirror portal. You took one step and immediately felt a sharp pain in your heel that reverberated through your leg. You made a strange sound that Jack immediately caught.
"Are you okay, Babe?" Jack held you steady in fear that you might fall over.
"My feet hurt..." You leaned against him, too tired to lie. Before you could say anything else, he scooped you up bridal style. You lacked the energy to fight back so you gave in and wrapped your arms around his neck, burying your face into it.
"Poor girl." He couldn't help but chuckle.
"Don't laugh at me...!" You whined continued to laugh at your tired state.
"Sorry gorgeous." He smiled down at you, tail swaying behind him.
Vil nodded.
"So maybe he isn't completely hopeless."
"Vil." You deadpanned.
"What? I'm stating truth aren't I?" Vil snickers as you roll your eyes. "You can't blame me, I thought he was exclusively howling at the moon and chasing squirrels."
"Squirrels? No. Grimm? Yes. Howling at the moon?" You rocked your head to the side. "Sometimes."
You were already half asleep on top of Jack in the middle of the night as he stared out the window, drawing little shapes on your back with his fingers. It was a full moon and a howl was scratching at the back of his throat but he suppressed it as to not disturb you from your sleep. He knew the wolves at Savanaclaw would be howling to their heart's content but he was pissed at his roommates, so he opted to stay with you in Ramshackle.
Jack's ears perked up at the sounds of wild wolves howling in the woods. Jack bit the insides of his cheeks to hold the sound back. He felt you stir on top of him and then heard your soft, sleepy voice.
"Go ahead, I don't mind."
Jack smiled and pressed a featherlight kiss against your hair. He cleared his throat before covering your ears with his large hands, knowing how loud his howls could be. Looking to the window, he let the low sound erupt from his throat, head tilting back to fully satisfy the urge.
When he was done, Jack removed his hands from your ears and gently stroked your face with his thumbs.
"Thanks Baby, you really are the best."
Jack held you closer against him as he was now finally ready to go to sleep.
"There is also this thing he does." You said.
"What thing?"
"Like it's a whole process..."
The rain was pouring outside Ramshackle and the devious duo (Ace and Deuce) haven't come to annoy you yet, so you were feeling a rare sense of peace as you cooked breakfast for yourself and Jack.
He was usually an early riser but whenever he stayed with you, that habit melted instantly. The pan was sizzling hot from the blue fire you made Grim make to light the stove since it was basically 100 years old. A pair of strong arms wrapped around your waist and Jack pressed a tired kiss to your temple. His tongue poked out from between his lips and pressed against your skin, not a lick, just a little tap. It was something you noticed he did when he was sleepy. The kiss was followed by him leaning down and nuzzling his nose into your shoulder.
"Good morning to you too." You giggled. You felt the slight movement from Jack's hips as his tail wagged behind him. It was quiet moments like this among the chaos that seemed to follow you that you cherished most.
"And then we'd sit down and have breakfast together."
"That's sweet but you still haven't answered my first question," Vil said, sipping his tea once again before setting it down. "Which one? Boyfriend or pet?"
I have some drafts that are halfway done and I want to post probably only a couple for now since exams are coming up (again) and I want to know which ones are the moist yearned for.

To Be Human (Post Future! Steven Universe x Fem!Reader)
Pt 1?
CW: Steven hasn't fully gotten over his repressed trauma, the dinosaur wasn't all that helpful, drinking and bar setting, drinking and driving (DONT DO THIS OBVIOUSLY STEVEN'S JUST A LITTLE STUPID ALSO IM LIKE 90% SURE HIS GEM HALF WOULD CANCEL OUT SOME ALCOHOL).
Steven Universe, now 21, is yet to figure his life out. Barely 5 years ago he thought he'd be doing gem stuff for the rest of his life but now he's ended up on the other side of the country in California.
He spent most of his time driving around in his Dondai and listening to cassette tapes, mainly sad ones since he and Connie broke up last year. It was the best thing for the both of them, long distance had done it's thing and they decided to just remain friends for now. Steven took it well. So well in fact that he was still listening to the saddest Radiohead songs on repeat almost 10 months later.
Soon he ended up in a street lined with nightclubs and bars. He looked at his drivers license that had been abandoned in the cup holder.
"What's the harm?" He said quietly to himself, pulling into a parking spot and stepping out. Steven had his phone, wallet, keys and ID stashed into his jean pockets and tucked his hands into his pink varsity.
He joined the cue of one of the clubs, filled with people in eccentric and...clubby...outfits, making Steven feel underdressed and a little ashamed. Before he could back out, he had reached the front and the burly bouncy stared him up and down, arms folded. He looked like the type of person to wrangle a shark and then let it go before killing it just so it could go and warn other sharks.
"ID." He said and Steven handed it over with a shaky hand. The bouncer looked at it for a second before giving it back to him. "Enjoy."
Steven rushed past, not wanting to risk breathing too hard in front of the giant at the door.
It was and immediate attack of loud music, chatter and thumping. Steven spotted an empty seat at the bar and shoved his way through drunken crowds to sit down in this sea of chaos. He planted his elbows on the wood and sighed as he leaned his forehead against his hands.
It was so much. He'd been in intense battles and psychological nightmares, so why was this too much?
"Can I get you anything?" He looked up to see a girl behind the bar.
A pretty girl behind the bar.
Your hair was tied up and you wore a white button up with the sleeves rolled to your elbows.
"Uh yeah just uh...some uh..."
"First drink?" You smirked and Steven nodded. "What's your favourite soda?"
"Uh...I don't really drink soda." He replied.
"Wow you really are a virgin." You chuckled in surprise. "Favourite drink then."
"I guess I just like apple juice."
You stifled another laugh before scooping some ice into a glass and grabbing a can of something. You popped the tab and poured the drink into the glass before sliding it across the bar to him.
"Apple cider." You said.
Steven thanked you before taking a sip, bracing himself. To his surprise, it tasted basically like apple juice, just slightly spicier. He wouldn't see no reason for it to taste like anything different he just expected it to be like fire water.
"You come with anyone?" You asked him and he shook his head.
"No, I'm on my own."
"First time at a club and it's by yourself, bold choice," You said, retrieving a dirty glass and cleaning it. "stupid, but bold."
"Yeah this probably wasn't the best idea," He chuckled, resting his head in his hand and taking another sip. "I've been on my own for a few years now."
"Damn, family issues?"
"More like everything issues," He replied. "just figuring myself out."
"I hear that." Another girl, no older than either of them approached the bar. "Hey babes, what can I get for you?"
"6 pink passion shots please!" She ordered over the loud music.
"Alright then!"
You began expertly mixing the drinks as 5 more girls approached, all cheering.
You poured the 6 shots and slid them over. They all raised their glasses before shooting them down their throats. One of them laid eyes on Steven.
"Oh you're cute!" She shouted shamelessly. "Can I get your number?"
"Down Sammy!" You playfully scolded her. "It's his first drink."
"Oh he's just a baby!" Another one of the girls said.
"I'm 21." Steven deadpanned.
You shook your head and went back to doing your job.
"Run along I'm sure there's plenty of other hunks around here," The girls took their leave and you turned back to Steven. "Sorry about them."
"You know those girls?" He asked, finishing off his cider.
"Yeah, they're my friends."
"They seem nice." Steven said, only a little sarcastically.
"Sammy gets a bit frisky when she's drunk, it's best to just ignore her."
"Noted," He nodded and looked out to the swarm of drunken people, mostly around his age, all jumping around and bumping into eachother. "Why do people come here?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean..." He sighed. "Why come here to be squashed against other people while everyone's off their heads?"
You shrugged.
"Dunno. It's an escape? It's fun?" You smiled to yourself. "Yeah, fun. People come here to relax and have fun."
Steven nodded, accepting that answer with a smile.
"Ok, yeah, I can see that now." He stood up, placing a 20 on the bar.
"Your drink was only 5-"
"It's a tip." He smiled before turning to walk away. "See ya!"
You smiled and rung up the half finished drink before tucking the $15 change into your tip jar.
As he slid back into the driver's seat of the Dondai, he cursed himself for not getting your name.
He knew he'd come back tomorrow night, maybe with some better clothes.
Esther: Born from Adam's powers after deciding that Crowley and Aziraphale needed something to take care of for the sake of their relationship, Esther is a bright young girl that is nothing like anything on earth. She's not and Angel, she's not a demon, she's not even human, she's something that not even the divine dynamic duo can understand. What they do understand is that she is now their responsibility and they love her more than anything.
Synopsis: 17 year old Elijah bears the weight of his father's alcoholism and gambling addiction while taking care of his two younger siblings. An angel dressed in pink swoops in and removes Elijah's family from a life of poverty, however he is immediately thrown into a life far grander than his.
Cali is expensive. There’s no denying that. It hit especially hard when a desperate older brother was just trying to buy his groceries at the local supermarket with two children clinging onto him, the oldest only being six. He carefully counted every last penny in the ziploc bag he carried his loose change in as well as remembering exactly how much money was left in his account. He handed the bag to the cashier and tapped his card. It declined.
“Dammit.” The boy, Elijah, muttered. “Are you sure there isn’t a mistake? I added up all the prices.”
“Nope. It says insufficient funds.” The cashier said without a hint of remorse, clearly not being paid enough to care.
“Please, just…I’ll pay the balance at a later date.” Elijah begged, the long line of people behind him getting increasingly impatient, except for one girl who was third in line. She felt sorry for him. She politely went around the two people in front of her and placed a hand on the shoulder that didn’t have a sleeping 2 year old against it.
“Don’t worry, I got it.”
He glanced at her questioning her possible insanity.
“W-what?!” His voice cracked. “You don’t have to, I can handle this myself.”
“Don’t worry about it.” She pulled out her black Amex and tapped it. “You need help carrying these?” She asked, gesturing to the bags and noticing the entourage of sleepy and/or sleeping children clinging to Elijah.
“That would be great thanks.” He gave a small, hesitant smile. Elijah took in her warm features, chestnut brown hair that had been softly curled and tied half up, honey gold eyes with permanently dilated pupils, and a gold nameplate necklace that wrote “Valerie” in pretty cursive.
She watched him make his way to the bus stop and she spoke up.
“Did you want a ride? My car’s just in the parking lot.” She offered but he shook his head.
“No it’s okay, you’ve done enough.” A faint shadow of a smile graces his face.
“I really don’t want you struggling to get all these bags and stuff on the bus.” She wondered how he’d get all this stuff back to wherever he lived, especially with the two children, both still attached to him. “Seriously, it's not an issue whatsoever.”
Elijah thought for a moment. It would be a nice luxury.
“Okay.”
She smiled and led him to her car. The sister, 6 year old Emma, spotted a pink Hellcat Challenger among the sea of black and silver vehicles and was suddenly cured of her tiredness.
“Eli! Eli! Look! A pink car!” She tugged at his shirt and bounced up and down in childhood wonderment.
“Yeah it’s cool huh.” He says. The girl pulled out her car keys, adjourned with a pink pom-pom, and unlocked the pink muscle car. Elijah was gobsmacked.
“That’s your car?!” He exclaimed. He’s never seen someone so young own a car that expensive, let alone someone so obsessed with a single colour.
“Yep! My friends think it's a bit strange how I can be so obsessed with the colour pink.” She opened the trunk and loaded the shopping in before she opened the back door. “Sorry I don’t have a car seat.” She said, face red with embarrassment, as if it were the worst thing she could have possibly done.
“It’s fine, buses usually don’t have car seats.” Elijah waved her off and put the youngest, Kenny, in the lap of his older sister. Elijah got in the passenger seat, feeling out of place in the luxury leather seats rather than the barely comfortable seats of the LA public transport system.
Valerie got in the driver’s seat and buckled her seatbelt before starting the car. She pulled out of the parking lot and began heading towards the address Elijah gave her.
“So your name’s Eli right?” She asked, tearing her eyes from the road for a brief second before locking back onto it again.
“Well…Elijah, she just calls me Eli.” He explained. “What’s uh…what’s your name?”
“Valerie.” She gestured her shoulder to the kids in the back seat. “Are they yours?”
“Well not mine mine, they’re my siblings.”
“Pretty big age gap.”
“Yeah, my sister and I are 11 years apart”
“How old is she?”
“6.”
She looked at him briefly.
“You’re 17?”
He nodded and she let out a small hum of amusement.
“Me too.”
Elijah's mouth fell open, but he quickly forced it shut, hoping his shock wasn't as obvious as it felt. She was 17 and dressed like she was running a fashion empire. A loud ring reverberated through the car.
“Sorry I have to take this.” She sighed and answered the phone, putting on a professional voice. “Valerie Vaccarelli speaking.”
“Miss Vaccarelli, there’s been a slight issue in the studio. We’ve run out of the royal blue satin.”
Oh shit is she actually running a fashion empire? Elijah thought to himself
Valerie made a somewhat aggressive hand gesture at the voice before calming herself.
“Did you not ask Mrs Vacarelli first?” She sighed.
There was a second Vacarelli?
“We did, she, uh… told us to call you.”
“Okay just uh…I’ll order some more, we’ll have it by the end of the week. Tell them to move onto the Persephone skirts. Those need to be in boutiques by next month.”
“Will do.”
“Thanks.” She hung up. “Sorry about that, just work stuff.”
“Work stuff? Are you a fashion designer or something?”
“Technically I’m an intern. Just a very high ranking one.” The surrounding houses turned into slummy apartment complexes. She seemed confused but also seemed to understand. “So which one’s yours?”
“Number 15, just up here.” She pulled up to the curb, her pink car clashing with the surroundings like black ink on silk. She stepped out of the car and opened the trunk, grabbing all of the grocery bags like it was second nature. A sleeping Emma held onto Elijah’ back and Kenny rested against his shoulder. Elijah opened the apartment door and the stench hit Valerie like a punch.
It smelled like mold, rot, and alcohol. Valerie placed the bags lightly on the kitchen counter, her nose wrinkling as she fought through the smell
“I know it smells terrible.” Elijah chuckled, placing Emma and Kenny on the couch.
“I didn’t want to be rude.”
A loud crash followed by a drunken yell was heard from down the hall. It was all too familiar to Elijah. Emma tensed against the couch cushions. Valerie thought she’d get vertigo staring down that short hallway for so long.
“I’ll be right back.” Elijah said, making his way down the hall and opened the door at the end. His dad, a fat, drunk of a man who reeked of booze and tobacco, sat on the bed watching a sports game on the only TV in the house that felt more ancient than the complex itself. Clearly the team he had bet on lost.
“How much did you cost us this time?”
His father glared up at him.
“Shut your mouth brat.” He took a gulp of the beer can in his grasp. “Who’s the broad upstairs?”
Elijah’s gaze hardened. In the short time he had known her, Elijah couldn’t help but feel indebted to Valerie. His stomach stirred with protective instinct.
“She helped me get the groceries home.” His voice was
“Bet she wants a blowjob with that as well.” He got a disgusting smile on his face. Elijah’s fists clenched so hard that his knuckles turned white. “Tell her to save one for me.”
He wanted to attack, the urge was undeniable. Before he could lunge, his senses took over again and told him the consequences. They told him that he would come out with more injuries than he could ever lay on someone. Elijah shook his head, looking at the scum in front of him.
“You’re a disgusting fucking man. Stay in here and rot for all I care.” He exited the room and slammed the door behind him. He made it back to the living room where his sister had fallen asleep on the couch cushions. “Thanks for settling her.”
“She practically knocked herself out,” She stood up, flattening her skirt. “I have a younger sister and I am one so I know how to deal with kids.” The silence that followed was awkward, too awkward. “I should get going, I’ve uh…I’ve overstayed my welcome.” She said, fidgeting with her fingertips. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a pale pink business card with a gold border.
Valerie Vaccarelli
Attached underneath was her phone number and email address.
“If you need anything, call.” She handed him the card. “I always answer my phone.”
“Thanks…Valerie.” Her name slipped off his tongue like he had said it many times before.
“Anytime Elijah.” She glanced back at the kids, sleeping on the couch like nothing happened. “Don’t be afraid to reach out.” Valerie gave him a longing stare before exiting the building.
As she descended the stairs, her hands dragged down her face. She’d never seen a case like this before. She thought what happened to her was horrible. Compared to Elijah’s situation, hers seemed merciful.
The Hellcat lit up as she unlocked it and slid into the driver’s seat. She gently took her foot to the gas and cruised down the streets, back to the comfort of the city. Most people found solace in the country, far away from people. But Valerie? She yearned for the intensity. She found comfort in unrest. She thought there was nothing more beautiful than a city at night. The city was predictable, at least to her.
