I hate being ugly. I am actually ugly. I'm not one of those girls who says "oh I'm so ugly" but is actually really pretty, I am one of those girls who is genuinely not attractive. I think I could handle it if I had a good personality except i dont. I am a boring person who doesn't have a flat stomach, clear skin, a pretty nose, skinny legs or sharp jawline. My face is a rectangle and I don't have an upper lip when I smile. I wish I was the pretty person just for once. The girl that is asked for her snap. The girl who can actually date her crush. The girl who isn't scared of boys saying ew or laughing at her.

I wish I could take photos without wanting to cry. Everytime I take a photo of myself or someone else takes a photo of me, I'm genuinely disgusted with my face and I feel embarrassed for the rest of the day. It makes me want to rip off my face and scream until my throat is raw.

The same people who are telling you that women are centering men too much when they enjoy mlm romance are the ones who bully bisexual women for being attracted to men and act like they're "less queer" than lesbians by the way. They're also the same people who bully trans men for being "gender traitors" and think more women = more progressive, so we should be detransitioning. Just to let you know. You can advocate for more wlw in media without being biphobic/homophobic/transphobic, it's actually quite easy.

as a lesbian i get so much secondhand embarrassment when i see other lesbians being biphobic (especially towards bi women) bc so much of the time it obviously stems from a place of deep insecurity and sometimes even internalized misogyny.

"bisexuals have straight-passing privilege" i mean sure but the vast majority of them are also actively choosing to subvert that privilege by being openly bisexual. if they wanted to pass as straight then they wouldnt be going to pride, calling themselves bi, dating same sex partners, etc.

"well what if she leaves me for a man" ok well what if she leaves you for a woman? what if she just breaks up with you bc you're a crappy partner? what if she decides to become a celibate monk and goes off to live a hermetic life in the wilderness? what if she meets a hot and sexy vampire demon werewolf thing and she's finally getting to live out her monsterfucker fantasies? people break up for like a million different reasons all the time, so my question is why are you comparing yourself to hypothetical men she could possibly leave you for? is that not just another form of "centering men" in your life? is that not just you feeling internalized misogyny? Like idk maybe work to unpack that before you start taking it out on bi women.

anyway this is just to say happy pride month. i love you bisexuals. I love you bi women, you're all very sexy and cool and valid i do in fact want to date you.

Tip:

When it comes to stuff like racism, sexism, homophobia, etc, I’ve found it’s usually way better to think to yourself ‘I don’t want to be’ than ‘I’m not’.

I.e. if someone goes ‘that thing you just did is ableist’, instead of going ‘I’m not ableist, I don’t hate disabled people!’ it’s usually a lot better to go ‘I don’t want to be ableist, I should rethink what I’m doing/saying/etc in light of that fact’. Because that shifts your thinking so rather than jumping straight into denial and attempts to defend your character, you’re instead more inclined to look at how your actions could be misrepresenting your intentions. Or whether you’ve overlooked something, been callous, or acted in ignorance.

You just have to do your best to avoid it, and if/when it happens anyway, use that as an opportunity to learn how to avoid it better in the future.
