Me: I'm not really into Werewolf/shifter stories or romance.
Also Me: TJ Klune is one of my favorite authors.
Wolfsong: OH hey, do you wanna cry at a Werewolf romance real quick?
....im now 6/6 at bawling my eyes out at Klune novels.

kind of weird how parts of your soul are left in various locations without any warning… like yes i’m always at the top of that hill, sitting at the bus stop, in the cool light of the Japanese restaurant, standing at the pier etc etc
A part of my soul lives in these places:
My grandpa's backyard circa 2000, Hertford College Church in Oxford, a practice room at William Jewell College, the ocean as seen from my cabin in New Zealand, the apartment my friend lived in in elementary/middle school where we had many sleepovers, the Kansas City Renaissance Festival, and Orlando, FL.
i NEED to quit my job to commit full time to what matters. posting about hollanov fucking nasty
This and reading fan fiction forever

"All 3 Hollanders had been in the audience for that one, which had been exciting for Ilya. He had never had so many people he loved at one of his games before."
- The Long Game, Chapter 37
I haven't stopped thinking about this for weeks.
Ilya Rosanov was 29 years old at this moment. He had been in the NHL for 11 seasons, won awards, been to the Olympics, and been playing hockey for 25 years.
But this was the first time he had multiple people in attendance and it was ONLY 3 PEOPLE.
It's a devastating and realistic view of what it's like to grow up without family.
Now everyone go give Ilya a hug cuz my man deserves it.
People who get upset by Shane and Ilya's wedding in The Long Game seem to forget that despite being queer men in love, they are, first and foremost: dumbass jocks.
These are two men who went into professional sports right out of high school - no college sports or degree. Are they smart and organized in many ways? Absolutely. They can plan hockey plays but not do burger math. Do they have style from time to time? Totally. But they also almost exclusively live in workout gear. Can they be dramatic? Obviously.
But they are also dumb hockey players.
They also have a major language barrier, which means the best way they communicate is through hockey and sex.
Not having enough chairs for their wedding and not writing their own vows makes perfect sense when you remember they are dumbass jocks and have been professional dumbass jocks since 18.
Ilya Rosanov only going to a dinner gathering because there will be dogs there is a mood.
project hail mary has it all. amnesia trope. petty academics. platonic soulmates. narratively justified retro-futurism. red string of fate. a bird may love a fish, but where will they live / then I shall have to make you wings. also a competent woman committing so many crimes in order to save the world and bringing the protagonist with her everywhere because he is her AND I QUOTE "little science lapdog". book of all time
hottest fucking thing one can read, really (x)
these quotes answered all my questions ^^ very cool!

I can’t overstate how grateful I am to Erewhon Books and Kensington Publishing for the joy of being able to fully illustrate a novel for adult readers! Thank you to my peerless editor Diana Pho and incomparable agent Saritza Hernández for embracing this book’s potential, as well as to the brilliant Cassandra Farin for her artistic oversight on this cover. I would also be remiss if I didn’t thank @argylefetish / @penpanoply and Alicia.MB.art on Instagram for their incredible beta help!
Finally, endless thanks to legendary authors TJ Klune and Freya Marske for their early praise of TIDES. I am undone with gratitude and just so humbled by their enthusiastic support of my work!
More details about the cover art, Benny & Río’s story, and what’s included in the hardcover edition will be coming soon. And in the meantime, I will be PINCHING MYSELF.

With lush illustrations and buoyant prose, Venessa Vida Kelley blends historical fantasy with epic romance at the turn of the 20th century i
I don't get on tumblr very often, so this may not be seen by many, BUT I wanted to share this book I just read.
I won't lie: I only read it to begin with because it was recommended by TJ Klune. BUT IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. It captivated me from the very start and now Rio and Benny have my whole heart and I can't stop thinking about them.
Here's why you should read it:
1910s setting - feels very Love Never Dies (phantom sequel) with sideshows, Coney Island, and NYC characters
It's compared to Shape of Water which is a good comparison
Queer representation - gender expression, mlm, etc. Queers existed back then damn it!
Diverse characters - variety of races, strong women, immigrants, and more
A lovely and sad insight into racism in the 1900s that is applicable to today and opened my eyes a bit as a white person
Parts of the book are in untranslated Spanish
Merman and Human love story
When trying to find if there was art of the main characters, I found the authors tumblr which is what I am sharing here. Please read When the Rides Held the Moon!
