Thinking about how the Prime Defenders can’t NOT have problems with constantly not having a stable home, or when they do it getting ripped away from them…….. BC LIKE- first they all moved from their homes to the old base to become prime defenders, and let’s be honest none of them have homes to really go back to outside of the old base.
Alaskas apartment being empty and, let’s be honest, not a good place to live, leaving Dakota without a way to pay for it and without a guardian, he’s got no place to go if something happens to the base or if the prime defenders are discontinued.
Vyncent is the most obvious, he can’t get home, his home isn’t on Prime and he has no way to get back, stranded on this strange and overwhelming planet.
William technically can go back to living with his parents, but from what I’ve seen in canon and fandom it’s dangerous for him there too, both socially and bc of the things that stalk the woods.
So they go from having their base burned down, sleeping in a VILLAINS FRICKING LIVING ROOM (WATCH WHAT THE HECK MAN??? WHERE WERE YOU???), to living in the used-to-be-abandoned Elements hall which they needed to fix up, then their guardian is torn away from them and William & Vyncent live in their old bases ruins (WHICH AGAIN??? WATCH WHERE THE FRICK ARE YOU???), to buying themselves a Winnebago (I wanna also point out that they got the money for it from doing CAGE FIGHTS.) and making it their home they all want/need, said Winnebago getting stolen at least once leaving them homeless FOR THE THIRD??? TIME??? Thank goodness they get it back eventually but still, they’ve been in the situation of jumping from place to place so many times….
Anyway- with all that has happened to their homes I don’t think they wouldn’t feel so rocky with wondering if they will have a place to sleep or a place to go back to </3. I totally headcanon that William has his backpack with him at all times, it stocked up with the essentials for all three of them, aka like- one or two change of clothes, med kit, headphones, his ghost hunting stuff, etc. just general essentials and then on top of that things to help get Vyncent out of his overthinking spirals and Dakota from being completely overstimulated. Williams always prepared!!! He has to be!!! He’s the one they will look to for guidance!!!
Okay- ramble over but still. I just cannot see them feeling stable during most of s1 & 2, though I do think they finally feel relieved and a bit more steady once they learn that Tide has been making them a home to go back to. Tho let’s be honest, even with that how can they be certain that this new home which was built for them won’t go up in flames one day as well?
