This is your fast sunday reminder that "increased religious freedom" around the world means trans and gay rights for all

Hot take:
Religious trauma is real, and stories about it absolutely have a place. But I’d love to see more stories where a character realizes the harmful version of Christianity they were taught isn’t the same as Christ.
Give me characters who deconstruct abuse instead of faith.
Give me characters who discover a deeper, kinder, more compassionate Christianity.
Give me doctors, teachers, farmers, artists, scientists, and ordinary people who see their work as their vocation.
Give me faith rooted in love instead of fear.
Not every Christian character’s happy ending has to be walking away from God. Sometimes it’s finally meeting the God they were searching for all along.
I know many saints like to toot their own horn about the US needing to be founded as a Christian nation to lay the groundwork for the restoration. But as we fast in celebration of "religious freedom" we need to remember that just because we pitched a fit and got back on the military's list of recognized faiths, doesn't mean we're free to stop fighting the good fight just because we personally aren't inconvenienced anymore.
We are not, any of us, free until we're all free.
Which means you had better be bitching just as loud for the religious freedoms of Muslims, Pagans, Satanists, etc.
Pagans, Unitarian Universalists, atheists and other minority or unrecognized religious beliefs suffered especially under this last cut. Please educate yourself about their plight and keep them in mind.
