I really do fucking hate male writers. I hate male writers, I hate male artists, I hate male singers. I hate male writers who can only write female characters being raped, pregnant, or giving birth as their only story development because they’re fucking stupid. I never understood the trans genocide thing. It's an insult to actual genocides going on in the world right now and in the past. Imagine telling a Palestinian person, that you're going through a genocide as well, and it's just not allowing kids to go through unnecessary surgery and hormones. You can't feel like a sex because they're not emotions or sensations. It's just a state of being. You're just uncomfortable and unhappy with gender roles forced unto you.

I can assure you most people, especially women, aren't happy with these roles either.

Not feeling "feminine" or not subscribing to sexist gender roles doesn't make you not a woman.

Same how not feeling "masculine" or "manly" doesn't mean that you're not a man.

Marsha P. Johnson was not a trans woman. He was in a documentary two days before he died where he said “I’m a man”. In the 60s and 70s, he identified as a “gay transvestite”. His close friends used both male and female pronouns and he didn’t take offense to either. He didn’t even live as “Marsha” all of the time, he went back and forth between living as Malcolm and living as “Marsha”.

Sylvia Rivera wasn’t a trans woman either. In 1971 he called himself a “transvestite” and a “half-sister”. He wrote an essay titled “Transvestites: Your Half Sisters and Half Brothers of the Revolution” where he says that “Transvestites are homosexual men and women who dress in clothes of the opposite sex.” In an interview in 1995 with Randy Wicker and in a 2002 essay titled “Queens In Exile, The Forgotten Ones”, he variously calls himself a “gay man”, a “gay girl” (probably in the “gurl” sense, not the female sense), and a “drag queen.” He knew he was male…“The early 60s was not a good time for drag queens, effeminate boys or boys that wore makeup like we did. Back then we were beat up by the police, by everybody. I didn’t really come out as a drag queen until the late 60s.” He did not identify with the word transgender…“People now want to call me a lesbian because I’m with Julia [his mtf partner], and I say, “No. I’m just me. I’m not a lesbian.” I’m tired of being labeled. I don’t even like the label transgender. I’m tired of living with labels. I just want to be who I am.”

Lastly, Marsha Johnson has alleged that Sylvia Rivera lied about being at the Stonewall riots, Rivera might not have been there at all. This is backed up by Stonewall historian David Carter who says that Rivera’s claim to have been at the riot was a “fabrication” and that Rivera’s various tellings of the story were riddled with inconsistencies. The true story, backed up by Marsha’s roommate Randy Wicker and gay activist Doric Wilson, is that Rivera had fallen asleep in a public park after taking heroin and he only learned about the riots after Marsha Johnson found him, woke him up, and recounted the events. According to Carter, no credible witness has ever been found who saw Rivera at Stonewall during the riots.

- marsha p. johnson repeatedly identified as a gay man and drag queen and survived into an era where the language did already exist if he chose to identify as transsexual. he explicitly stated that he was not transsexual and claimed that all transsexual people were also homosexual.

- sylvia rivera did identify as a transsexual woman (and made disparaging speeches about lesbians). she was not an ally to lesbians. lesbians and transwomen have not always been allies.

- neither of them were there when the stonewall riots began, according to marsha’s own testimony. sylvia was sleeping off a drug trip on a park bench, and by the time marsha arrived at stonewall, the riots were already in full swing.

- storme delarverie, a mixed black gender-nonconforming lesbian and drag king, may have been the one who incited the stonewall riots. she never identified as a transman despite surviving into an an era where the language was made accessible to do so. accounts differ as to who started the riots.

- stonewall was not a special haven for trans people and drag artists, it was just some bar where gay people met up. by all accounts, it wasn’t even a good bar.

- pride as a festival and parade was invented by gay men, lesbians, and bisexual people. fred sergeant is one of those gay men, and he has been beaten (in recent years, as an elderly man) by trans people and their allies due to his views on medical transition. non-homosexual trans people were unheard of in this era.

- this is just united states history, and not even the beginning of gay rights activism in the united states alone. the rest of the world didn’t necessarily base its gay rights activism on stonewall.

Also, I saw a post the other day about Stonewall being "one of thee first queer owned businesses". That's blatantly untrue. The Stonewall Inn, and pretty much all gay bars at that time, were owned by the mafia or other criminal organisations. Those gay bars existed so these criminal straight men could charge gay people an exorbitant amount for drinks because they had nowhere else to go, and so they could operate without following any laws, as the knowledge that everyone in there was gay made sure their crimes would never be reported. It was mutually assured destruction for the benefit of straight male criminals, it was never a queer business.

Except homosexuals never wanted any medical treatment to better our mental state. Homosexuality doesn’t cause homosexuals any distress that needs to be treated medically. Homosexuality being classed as a mental illness resulted in homophobes pushing medical treatment on us that we didn’t want to “fix” us. All homosexuals have ever wanted is to be left alone, unmedicalised.

Trans identity on the other hand stems from dysphoria that causes distress that people want medical treatment for. We’re told that dysphoria is so distressing that not treating it with hormones and surgeries leads to suicide. Healthy people who aren’t suffering from mental illness do not require medical treatment to stop them from killing themselves.

These are two very different things, so the comparison just can’t be made.

I can’t speak for anyone else but myself and I can tell you that I do treat trans people with respect in my everyday life. When someone introduces themselves to me as a nonbinary individual who uses they/them pronouns I don’t suddenly burst into a tangent about the history of gay men being categorized into third genders. When I see transwomen I don’t scream in their face about how they’re a man in a dress. I don’t use my beliefs as a tool to be an asshole to people who are just going on about their day, nor do I share my beliefs to strangers unsolicited.

I do, however, carve out my own space on a site like Tumblr and freely share my gender critical beliefs with people who are interested in hearing them. Nothing I’m doing on this blog is preventing trans people from living out their life the way they want to. Nothing I say here endangers their rights or safety. Criticism and skepticism of the trans community and trans ideology isn’t violence or disrespect. Grow up

Queer theory is so funny to me as African because I'll see all these people in the western countries trying to assign meanings to clothes and to pronouns and to parts of their personalities, they'll believe that changing their clothes or their pronouns or their language or their behavior will exempt them from misogyny. And while I understand that it is a condition of the System to keep us all separated, I can't help but bristle at the racism behind this all.

If any of these liberals had bothered to read, they would know that there exists many many communities indigenous to Africa whose languages don't have gendered pronouns, where clothing rules are different. Where men and women dressed the same, where the rules of nudity are different. Where men are effeminate. And in most, if not all of these communities, misogyny will still be rampant.

My community used to allow female to female marriages but all those women were still circumcised. My language does not have "she" or "he" but that did not save any of us from misogyny. My friend's community doesn't even have gendered slurs and she still had to run away when she was 11 so that she wouldn't be circumcised. There is no solution other than uprooting the whole system. Creating more categories does nothing.
