Heated Rivalry: TLG x The Long Walk with the aesthetic of Frankenstein

The Long Skate

Like the Iditarod race/balto but it’s over ice and it’s in the North Pole

Or some shit back in the late 1800’s, and they need to get across the landscape to deliver a team or reconnect a lost crew or whatever and they only have ration to last them for the 2 week trek there and but a snow storm causes things to extend, people start getting sick and worn down. They all come to an agreement that when people start wearing down that they must sacrifice themselves to allow the mission to continue and give up their rations. Cold, logical, and tactical.

But it’s Shane and Ilya, who attended military training together and competed the whole time during camp to be the top recruit and hated each other, and it frequently cuts back to flash backs vignettes from both their POV and they realize their rivalry was rooted in falling for the other.

So think Frankenstein North Pole setting and costuming plus story framing, the harrowing whittling down of the long walk, and its Shane and Ilya living both past and present realizing they’re in love and it’s Ilya who starts to fail
