fandom “elders” are always so creepy. if youre 25+ and in a fandom space with literal 12 year olds you need to conduct yourself as if you were in a room filled with children. you cant say youre a fandom mom and in the same breath make porn of underage characters. you are a fucking adult. act like it.

What the actual fuck? YOU come into fandom spaces and try to tell ‘fandom elders’ how to behave? Fuck off. Who do you think built fandoms? Who do you think made fandom safe spaces, so we could go from covertly mailing out fanfics, to hiding on Geocities afraid of being sued, to Livejournal, and rebuilding yet again after Strikethrough? Who do you think coded Archive of Our Own so you could post your fanfiction, free of the need for disclaimers? Who do you think draws, writes, headcanons for your fandom? It’s not a bunch of screaming twelve year olds, I’ll tell you that. ‘Fandom elders’ have been here long before you were old enough to bang blocks together and dream that one day, you’d be an insulting asshole that demands people older than you go away because anyone older than you must be creepy and manipulative for trying to enjoy something they’d enjoyed for years before you. YOU’RE the one moving into fandom space. YOU’RE the one that should modulate your tone. YOU’RE the one that needs to sit back and respect their damn elders.
