I think it is true that Eleanor is probably the primary protagonist of the good place. but textually speaking Chidi is maybe the most consequential person to have ever lived and died. he would absolutely never think of himself that way of course. and yet his very existence and his general nature has an immeasurably profound impact on literally all of humanity that cannot possibly be overstated. all after a lifetime spent trying only to learn how leave things better than he found them, or failing that to leave no trace. mostly the latter, by his own wildest hopes and estimates always the latter. then an afterlife being told all that effort was in vain. but he hadn’t gotten any time to change yet before said yes to helping Eleanor in the first run. it was rare he ever did. and he never turned her down. not even once. because of who he had spent that whole time being. and that repeated act of kindness that—while not always easy—was the only choice a man who could never decide ALWAYS made… saved everyone.
My stomach's in knots and I'm stress-grinding my teeth, and it feels like my soul is being suffocated. You know, just your standard paradise stuff.

this post had everything I could hope for
Trying to participate in media criticism and analysis on the internet is super frustrating at times because I feel the need to qualify literally every part of my statements in three different ways. If I want to say I didn’t like a certain aspect of a film it feels like it must come with disclaimers that I’m not saying the creator or anyone who enjoyed that aspect is a bad person for doing so, and that I don’t think that I’m superior for having this perspective, and that art is subjective so really maybe I’m just wrong or it’s just my taste and does it even matter.
I don’t like the fact that the algorithms really encourage the most divisive and aggressive opinions on a given thing but I also hate that to have any kind of conversation about your opinions on media you have to cocoon them in a series of disclaimers to make sure people don’t assume the worst possible intentions of you.
Just so we’re clear, movies that are only 15 years old do not need a remake. And movies that are only 10 years old definitely don’t need a remake
And most movies never need a remake!

The Tetris effect occurs when someone dedicates substantial time, effort, and concentration to an activity and thereby alters their thoughts, dreams, and other experiences not directly linked to said activity.
replaying ac3 ... again ... and appreciating how Connor fiddles with his thumbs when people he isn't super familiar with are talking
or how he sorta shoves off people when they go to shake his hand or grab his shoulder
it's the little things
is the way people are talking about supergirl a psyop or something? ive seen people say its inoffensive but people are acting like its some catastrophic disaster and blasting the writer??? no way its worse than some of dcs worse dogshit
