a/n ✰ reader has seen mando's face before, when they tended to some of his wounds
[name] had woken up and immediately checked the date on the calendar hanging on the wall of their pod on the razor crest.
checking the time, they smiled to themself and began to gather bags which they had picked up on the trio's last stop at a shop on bespin from under their bunk. 'perfect timing,' they had thought to themself. they quietly gotten ready and began to creep twards the kitchen area on the ship.
unpacking the bag, [name] placed different foods and snacks on the counter making sure to be quiet as they weren't trying to wake anyone. they turned the flame on to warm some bone broth for mando and grogu, and stirred in some additives for a richer flavor.
[name] noticed the broth bubbling and turned the flame to low. they brought out two bowls and plates for underneath. both plates were placed in respective spots for [name's] crew mates.
on grogu's plate they set down blue snacks and frogs for him, and for mando they had put some fruits on his plate, and blue milk next to his food. [name] placed their plate and milk down, along with a snack cake that was placed between grogu and mando's spots, a small candle adorning it.
they checked their watch and noticed that it was around the time where mando would come out of his pod and prepare breakfast for the crew. they sat with a smile and awaited him.
mando walked in rubbing the tiredness from his eyes, but stopped in his tracks when he saw what [name] had done. a sleepy smile adorned his face as he walked over to the table, looking at everything that [name] prepared for him and grogu.
"happy one year anniversary! today a year ago was when i asked to join you and grogu on your awesome journey and you agreed!!" [name] had gotten up to hug mando and he smiled and returned the action. "thanks, kid. this means a lot. i'm gonna go get grogu and i'll be right back," mando said as he walked to grogu's pod.
[name] smiled as they saw mando come back in, grogu in his arms. grogu babbled as he saw what was on the table waiting for him. mando sat him down and he immediately went for the frogs on his plate. mando sighed as he sat down and began to drink his bone broth. a smile slowly crept onto his face, tasting the different flavors that were mixed into the broth.

"thank you, again [name]. this was the best meal i've had in.. a while. it really does mean a lot to me. so here," mando said as he went to retrieve a bag from his pod. [name] looked at him with a trace of shock on their face as he handed them the bag. "what? did you think i'd forget? that day is one of my favorite memories." the two of them smiled and [name] took the gift from their friend's hands.
opening it up, they discovered a new jacket of their favorite color. [name's] face lit up and their confused look turned into a wide smile. "when did you- how did you know-" mando cut them off to answer their questions. "i got it a few stops back and i know how you love that color. also, the style was like one you had. but it got a little ruined during that one hunt we went on a while ago. so i thought it was perfect."
[name] smiled again and stood up to try it on. "what do you think?" they asked him, giving a little spin to show off the full jacket. mando smiled up at them. "i think it looks great, kid."

"I promise you he's nice. He just sometimes he looks like he wants to kill you, but I promise he doesn't."
"Okay." You tell Sam over the phone with a groan. If you told your 13 year old self that in 8 years, you'd be very annoyed by an Avenger, they would have been shocked. When you were younger, you had always been a big fan of the "main" Avengers, but unlike other kids your age, you found the guy in the bird suit more fascinating than the God of Thunder.
You had always thought that meeting one, would never happen to you. Like, in your dreams, right? Well, long story short, you ended up meeting your hero.
And now, that same hero was annoying you. A lot. Sam wanted you to meet his best friend, Bucky. It wasn't that you didn't want to waste your time, you were just, scared? Yes, that's the word.
You were scared. Bucky seemed to always hate everyone, he constantly had an angry face on.
"Y/N, I know you're scared." Sam says, reading your thoughts. "But, it will be fine, okay? He'll like you."
"Okay." You sigh. You hang up the phone and get ready.

You walk inside the cafe, just on time, feeling less anxious than you were before. You see Sam sitting at a nearby table all by himself. You wave to him and walk over.
Sitting down, you ask "Where's Bucky?" while fiddling with the drinks menu. "He's coming soon. He had something to do before this."
You wrinkle your eyebrows, from what you've heard Sam is Bucky's only friend. "Why are you looking at me like that? He was meeting up with some old man or something, I don't know."
Just on cue, Bucky walks into the shop, with, as expected, a smile nowhere to be found. Sam motions for his friend to sit at your table.
As soon as he sits on the chair, Sam starts a conversation.
"So, Bucky, this is Y/N and Y/N, this is Bucky." Bucky looks at you and you both shake hands awkwardly.
Once you part, you try to think of something to say and remember what Sam had mentioned a couple of weeks ago. "You like books and reading, right?" Bucky nods. "What's your favourite book?"
"The Hobbit." He says, quickly. There was no hesitation at all. You're about to say you had enjoyed The Hobbit as well, when Sam steps in and says, "The Hobbit? When did you have time to read that, Barnes?"
Bucky rolls his eyes. "In 1937, when it first came out."
You raise your eyebrows. Okay, then, you think, but you try to continue the conversation. "Uh, well, have you watched any of the movies?" He looks at you with confusion on his face.
"There's movies?" You nod, pulling your phone out from your jacket pocket. You bring up a photo of the posters. "Yeah, look."
He leans over and his eyes instantly light up. You notice his excitement and reluctantly ask, "Would you want to watch it together?"
Bucky quickly agrees. "What was your favourite moment from the books?" He asks, curious. He had never had someone to talk to about this before.
"Well, I'd say...." You start.
Sam sat back and admired you both, wondering why you had thought that you and Bucky would not get along.
You two seemed like you were already going to be the best of friends.

Bucky Barnes:
Valentine's Day with Bucky would be a relaxing, but amazing day. It would start off with Buck making you a nice breakfast in bed, pancakes (or waffles!) with berries, syrup and a hot coffee. You'd give him a cute card with a gift and he'd probably give you one of those giant fluffy teddy bears. You'd spend the morning and early afternoon in the park, having a lunch picnic. In the evening you'd snuggle up with each other and have a movie marathon and end the day with a nice sleep in each other's arms.
Sam Wilson:
Sam would go all out for Valentine's Day. There wouldn't be many gifts exchanged, because he'd rather spend time with you instead. He'd probably get some pretty flowers for you, with a heartfelt card. In the evening he'd take you out to dinner, somewhere fancy. You'd have fun chatting and laughing while eating. The night would end off with a little slow dance back at home!
Sharon Carter:
Sharon is the absolute best, so Valentine's Day with her would be the sweetest. For some reason, I feel like you guys would go to a party with some of your other couple friends. It would be super fun, full of great food, passionate kisses and loving moments. When you two come back from the party, Sharon would give a gift, a golden flower necklace.
Joaquin Torres:
OML Joaquin is the cutest human ever, he would be so cute on Valentine's Day. The morning would be super cute, awkardly giving each other gifts and warm hugs. You'd celebrate by him taking you out to the movies, which movie you see is your choice! After, you guys would get some fast-food to eat on the way home. And of course, kisses and cuddles.

songs: there is a light that will never go out - the smiths, mirrorball - taylor swift,
"so, how are you?" it's not an everyday occurrence that charlie looks somber - it almost catches you off guard. "i know that tonight's been pretty rough so far, and i wanted to check up on you. you know, because..."
he looks so pretty, standing here in this room, and you almost forget that there are other people here with you.
he's your own personal mirrorball, and you're in love with him.
this party is high-collar, raised-brow, stilted conversations and champagne glasses.
this party is everything you're not, everything he is supposed to be.
it's an organised welton event - all sorts of people involved. beautiful, rich people - the sort of people who fit.
charlie's parents are here as well, of course. you notice that he's been ignoring them all night.
"because i love you." he finishes his sentence after a while, and grins at you. his parents don't say it much - it takes him a while to say it, too. but you can see it in his eyes and the way he smiles at you. like a favourite record or an autumn day.
he'd never tell you, but you're always on his mind.
"oh charlie - i love you too. and i'm alright, it's just strange here, is all." it's odd to think that all the people here tonight - asking your name with polite indifference - will forget who you are by the morning. that they'd walk past you and barely clock you.
"god, i know it's odd to say," he says, and there's an odd look behind his smile. like it's made of paper, or put on just for you. "but i'd rather be anywhere than at home right now. so this is... this isn't too bad for me."
you love him, but that doesn't mean that you know what to say.
and the evening blurs into polaroid memories. he asks you to dance, and you accept. his feet are smooth but the two of you stand out all the same - the looks on your faces and the way he runs his fingers over your hand.
you whisper something to him and he laughs. he recounts an anecdote his parents always bring up during dry dinner parties. you laugh even more.
it's less funny when my mother tells you it, i can promise you.
and you can't argue with him on that. you've met her.
after the party ends, he walks you home. step by step, feet dancing on the pavement.
after the party ends, you kiss him goodbye. you tell him that you feel safe around him, he blushes slightly. just enough for you to catch it.
you think, on reflection, you've never loved anybody more than you loved charlie dalton that night. dancing at an awful party.

You settled down on the couch next to Goose. As soon as your butt hit the cushions, the cat was meowing at you, repeatedly for your attention. He was always a needy cat, but you found it cute. "Okay, okay." You say, stroking his fur.
Monica and Maria were currently at a school event, a dance for Monica's grade. You were super excited for Monica and you made sure to take some photos of the mother and daughter in their fancy clothing.
They had just left a couple of minutes ago, which meant it was much quieter now. It also meant that you and Carol had the house to yourselves for the evening. You had both decided to stay in and order some food, just a fun, relaxing night.
You picked up your current read from the coffee table while still petting Goose, who refused to move from his spot on your lap. You chuckled a bit realising how much the cat has warmed up to you in comparison to when you and Carol first met.
"Watcha' reading?" Carol asks from across the room. You turn to see her standing in the doorway with two containers of Chinese food in her hands.
"Little Women," You say and then add, "Again." Carol laughs as she comes over. She places the containers on the table in front of you, setting the food out. "You love that book, don't you?"
"Yep!" You reply, happily. You've been trying to get your girlfriend to read it for months, but Carol refuses, claiming she 'doesn't have time for reading anymore', but you know she's just being stubborn to annoy you.
You put your bookmark back in place and put your beloved book to the side again. "I'd be down to watch the movie." Carol tells you as she sits down on the couch beside you.
"Really?" You gasp. You add some sauce to your delicious plate of food and look back up to Carol, who nods.
"Yes." She says with her mouth full.
"Carol! Don't talk with your mouth full, that's gross." You whine. Carol mocks an offended face and puts her hand over where her heart would be. "Ouch, Y/N. Are you saying I'm gross?"
You roll your eyes. "Just shut up and eat your food." You practically shove the plate in her face, which makes her laugh.
"Okay!" You turn on the T.V. and snuggle up next to Carol.
And as the sun sets, you can't help but think about how happy you are with this calm life in the countryside with your loving friends and family by your side.
