my digital circus headcanon is that zooble first arrived to the circus with a much different look and it took a few bad breakdowns where they ripped everything off and near totally redesigned themselves before they found their (only slightly) less uncomfortable canon design
I really like how the scientology speedrunning trend is developing, in this clip we see that the participants are
Not deterred by the closed door
Working as a group
Protecting their identities
Inflicting material costs to the institution via property destruction
Getting away at the end
These ideas were not all here from the beginning. They are genuinely gaining experience that can be applied elsewhere
The church of scientology is on tumblr and they are sending me anon asks telling me that they can't even commit to reporting a post
it's finally that time of the year again for the clinically depressed newscaster describing february with disco elysium music
Sesame Street posting techniques for comforting children during traumatic world events feels so fucking dystopian but here are the slides they posted just in case you or a loved one has any little critters at home right now
No one is doing well right now, but being a little critter right now has got to be terrifying. This is such a crushing series of images, especially considering PBS’s funding got slashed. While I’m happy Sesame Street continues to keep the wellbeing and education of children as a major priority, there’s a certain amount of innocence that Sesame Street represents and this is giving me such a visceral feeling rn
this is seriously my favorite post rn i changed my tt icon to this & i keep going around saying why does it matter
A DHS whistleblower appears to have exposed data on federal immigration workers after the shooting of Renee Good.
Man, it sure would be a pity if this information was circulated widely and people were able to learn the identities of local Nazis and make their lives hell. Gosh. Darn. I'm just verklempt over the idea.
Except, critically, at bedtime.
Ravings and urges get miscoded over time. Let’s say you’re thirsty, and you live in a strawberry field. Strawberries contain some water and a bunch of sugar so, over time, you may start to crave strawberries when you are thirsty because you get a reward and some relief in shorter time from the need starting than the trek to the stream. This can happen for every need: sleep, food, whatever.
Trevor Noah has a great tip, that when he craves ice cream at night he breaks it down into parts: I want something cold, I want something sweet. He drinks a glass of cold water then waits to see if he still has the ice cream craving. Usually he doesn’t.
So listening to your body isn’t “follow every urge” but “decompose the urge to discover the underlying need.”
If you always feel like getting cozy in bed you may be: cold, dehydrated, and/or malnourished (maybe a need for high calories that are bioaccessible…not processed).
If you do not feel tired at bedtime you may: need to eat dinner earlier because your body is still digesting, need to exercise or go outside more during the day, get the fuck off your screen for an hour so your brain can enter sleep mode.
Hope this helps someone.
P.S. notice i said nothing about neurodivergence. Not that it’s not a likelihood but the over-pathologization of behaviors prevents us from taking simple actions to improve our wellbeing. Also, these tips are pretty accessible and applicable to most brain variations.
i am above all else a fujo i will ship two used tissues together if i think its interesting but at the same time there are some pieces of media where the fans make me wonder like. why are your shipping goggles on rn. can you pay attention. wait nevermind post cancelled i just remembered ive spent the last day sporadically posting about how buzz lightyear is gay. perhaps i should look within before casting judgement onto others
A popular artist suddenly made a trans man comic, and the viewers are not getting it
Being against a trans man's transition because you think it's too boring is transphobic, actually.
Yeah i was vagueposting about this earlier and like I cannot stress enough that going "I think this trans man looked better as a woman" is not the epic gender win you think it is
see the really shit thing about this is that the people complaining about the trans boy's outfit in the second panel are fundamentally misunderstanding how this comic works. it's a two-panel comic; the entire way it works is based around its ability to instantly communicate its message to the audience with maximum clarity. there's simply no room here for complexity or exploring the nuances of gender presentation. if the son is dressing cutesy or goth then this potentially muddies the message; perhaps the father is only complaining about his son's aesthetic rather than his gender. it is only through portraying the son in the most generic inoffensive gender-conforming way possible that the message can ring through with true clarity: the gulf between the father this man wants to be (supporting his "daughter" for who he thinks "she" is) and the father he actually is (supporting his son in ways which challenge his preconceived notions of who his child should be).
it's not complicated. it's as uncomplicated as it can possibly be. are you stupid or do you just hate trans people.

this book is out now!!! it's a short read, less than 200 pages, and it's SO good. i literally had to pause halfway through just to send the author a message about how much i liked it. definitely leans more utopian than scientific, but that makes sense given the format, and i think it has a lot of good things to say.
once you really start thinking about how restrictive the world is for children and how many bullshit justifications we retroactively come up for it all the time, you can't stop seeing it everywhere. this book makes a good case for including children in our political efforts not as rhetorical devices but as an actual class of oppressed people.
