I cannot believe… they let chris rock get away with this
he ain’t lie
He really didn’t
The real power move here is that the witness gave a very specific and useful description that the police could use to conduct their search. Yes, the suspect was black but he also offered height, weight, what he was wearing and non-racial identifying features. it was THE COPS who took all this useful information and decided to weaponize it against a kid.
This isn’t just an accurate depiction of how racism works. It’s a specific call-out about racist cops and the negative effect of racism on police work.
Rich people truly live in a different dimension
Yes! They do! I’ve been trying to get that point to stick and people just don’t follow. The president thinks insurance costs $12 a year.
My old boss’s sister didn’t think we should be paid enough to afford smart phones because (her words) “You peasants work for us, peasants don’t deserve enough money for those things.”
I was once invited to a dinner event. Turns out there was a raffle. I mentioned that if I had known I’d have stopped at the bank for some cash. Nothing was said, but the “You don’t carry a minimum $200 everywhere?” was felt in the body language of everyone within 50 feet. Old boss would get KFC every day. He was hospitalized and had to have bits of intestine removed. First day back he was eating KFC because “Well the doctor fixed everything, so why not?”
If old boss didn’t take home a million dollars in a month the company was “Having a bad time of things.” That’s not sales, or total gain, that’s his paycheck. He owned the building so the company he owned that operated inside the building paid him $33,000 a month, and that didn’t count towards his paycheck. Monthly, his company would pay him rent greater than what he was paying me yearly, and it was so little to him that he didn’t count it as income.
To a rich person, something punishable by a fine is just a thing you have to pay for permission to do. You want to go to the movies? Sure that’s $8 a person. You want to park in the fire zone? Sure, that’s $750 for parking. No big deal.
Rich people live in such a different place than everyone else.
Help me find the most convincing footage of police brutality and American police attacking peaceful protesters.
I spent 6 hours talking to my Republican sister, and I got her to see some things differently. She asked for video evidence of my claims about police/LEO attacking peaceful protestors. (All she had seen were police being attacked and buildings being burned down, unsurprising.) I have some clips, but I can't even find everything I have reblogged, because Tumblr is a real website.
If people could reblog this post with the very best evidence and sources they have, I would appreciate it. Also things that document the claim that Trump is a white supremacist. The best, most clear-cut evidence you could find.
I appreciate any help!
Women in Bradley County Jail are being kept in horrible, unsanitary, and unsafe conditions. Literally signs for help in the window.
The best way to help is to bail them out!!
Please if you have a couple of dollars to spare we are doing our best to get as many women out. Women who can’t, will get money in their commissary for sanitary products.

a horror film not being scary isnt a bad thing. horror is supposed to HORRIFY, and conflating it with this obsession with scares has really messed with the genre imo. its why so many films are ineffective with audiences, because they leave no lasting impression due to the fact that filmmakers are focusing so muchon trying to scare you and not actually exploring things that deeply unsettle us.
After seeing this I think we should put electric fences

*pretends to be shocked but also maybe this will make people realize that Indigenous People Know What The Hell They’re Doing and Deserve Respect*
3 other fun/cool facts about the Inuit:
1. They also invented kayaks and dog booties.
Dog booties are actually really important for working sled dogs in winter to protect their paw pads from iceburn and keep ice from getting in between their toes and burning them that way.
2. The traditional Inuit diet is one of the healthiest in the world, and the most balanced for the ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 consumption
Most modern diets consume way too much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3.
3. Inuit is a plural noun. When speaking about a single person the correct word is Inuk (always capitalized)
For example, “This Inuk woman is wearing traditional Inuit tattoos”.
And she is wonderful

Unarmed Black Man With Hands Up Shot By Police.
Charles Kinsey, 47, a behavior therapist from South Florida was shot in the leg three times by the police in North Miami while laying on the ground with his arms up and trying to help his patient with autism who had run away from a group home.
It all started when someone called 911 and said there was a man walking around with a gun. However it was Kinsey’s patient who was sitting on the ground cross-legged, playing with a toy truck.
Charles got shot by police despite telling them he was only trying to help his patient.
The police shot him, handcuffed him and left him on ground bleeding.
North Miami police have not released much information at all. They haven’t released the officer’s name, they haven’t given us an update on the investigation. However, they did say that the state attorney is now a part of this investigation.

Stunning Coloring Book Pays Homage to the Mathematical Beauty of the Golden Ratio Found in Nature
Venezuelan architect and illustrator Rafael Araujo introduces a coloring book like no other- art and science merge as one as the artist uses the Golden ratio to explain the beautiful symmetry silently present in nature. The artist has mastered his understanding of the highly intricate subject over the past 40 years based on the Golden ratio, rendering some of his most profound work into the adult coloring book to bridge human understanding of art within nature using science.

Hey btw, another worldbuilding thing: You can, and actually should have weird and impractical cultural things. They’re not inherently unrealistic, for as long as you address the realistic consequences as well.
Let’s say you’ve got a city where there’s tame white doves everywhere. They’re not pests, they’re regarded as sacred, holy protectors of the city, and the whole city cares for them and feeds them like they’re pets. They’re so tame because it’s a social taboo to hurt or scare one. Nice pretty doves :)
Then someone points out that even if they’re not seen as pests, doesn’t having a completely unchecked feral pigeon population - that not only isn’t being culled, but actively fed and cared for - mean that there would be bird shit absolutely all over the place?
A part of you wants to say no, because these are your nice, pretty doves. To explain that there’s a reason why they’re not shitting all over the place, maybe they’re super-intelligent and specifically bred and trained to not shit all over the place. The logistics of how, exactly, could anyone breed and train a flock of feral birds go unaddressed.
An even worse solution would be to not have those birds, editing them out of the world. No, they spark joy, you can’t just toss them out!
Now, consider: Yes, yes they would, but the city also has an extensive public sanitation service that’s occupied 90% of the time by cleaning bird shit off of everything. One of the most common last names in the area actually translates to “one who scrapes off dove shit”, and it’s a highly respected occupation. And thanks to the sheer necessity of constantly regularly cleaning everything, the city enjoys a much higher standard of cleanliness, and less public health issues caused by poor public sanitation.
The doves do protect the city. By shitting fucking everywhere.
