Buddhist Compliment
Nderek Dewi Maria, tamtu geng kang manah. Mboten yen kuwatosa, ibu njangkung tansah. Kanjeng Ratu ing swarga amba sumarah samya. Sang Dewi, Sang Dewi mangestunana, Sang Dewi, Sang Dewi mangestunana. Nadyan manah getera, dipun goda setan, nanging batos engetnya, wonten pitulungan. Wit Sang Putri Maria, mangsa tega anilar. Sang Dewi, Sang Dewi mangestunana, Sang Dewi, Sang Dewi mangestunana. Menggah saking apesnya ngantos kelu setan. Mboten yen ta ngantosa klantur babar pisan. Ugeripun nyenyuwun Ibu tamtu tetulung. Sang Dewi, Sang Dewi mangestonana, Sang Dewi, Sang Dewi mangestonana. Be Still, Be Silent, Be Mindful.
Since everything is a reflection of our minds, everything can be changed by our minds. ~Buddha~
Write The Story Of Your Life View each day as a page in your autobiography. You have the ability to fill each page with beautiful stories of spiritual growth and kind deeds. Past pages are already written, but you can revise their significance by learning from your mistakes. In a panoramic view of your life, those mistakes become stepping stones for growth. Future pages are not yet ready to be written. Only the present pages are before you. You have the opportunity to be the author of a masterpiece which describes the life of a great person: you. (Rabbi Yechezkel Abramsky; Rabbi Pliskin's Gateway to Happiness, p.152)
The Wisdom of No Escape: How to Love Yourself and Your World
There is a story of a woman running away from tigers. She runs and runs and the tigers are getting closer and closer. When she comes to the edge of a cliff, she sees some vines there, so she climbs down and holds on to the vines. Looking down, she sees that there are tigers below her as well. She then notices that a mouse is gnawing away at the vine to which she is clinging. She also sees a beautiful little bunch of strawberries close to her, growing out of a clump of grass. She looks up and she looks down. She looks at the mouse. Then she just takes a strawberry, puts it in her mouth, and enjoys it thoroughly. Tigers above, tigers below. This is actually the predicament that we are always in, in terms of our birth and death. Each moment is just what it is. It might be the only moment of our life; it might be the only strawberry we’ll ever eat. We could get depressed about it, or we could finally appreciate it and delight in the preciousness of every single moment of our life." ― Pema Chödrön (The Wisdom of No Escape: How to Love Yourself and Your World)
Never, ever, ever think that your life is over, but know always that each day, each hour, each moment is another beginning, another opportunity, another chance to re-create yourself anew. — Neale Donald Walsch
"If you are quiet enough you will hear the flow of the Universe. You will feel its rhythm. Go with this flow...happiness lies ahead." - Buddha -
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do." -Eleanor Roosevelt
The past is already past. Don't try to regain it. The present does not stay. Don't try to touch it. From moment to moment. The future has not come; Don't think about it Beforehand. Whatever comes to the eye, Leave it be. There are no commandments To be kept; There's no filth to be cleansed. With empty mind really Penetrated, the dharmas Have no life. When you can be like this, You've completed The ultimate attainment. -Layman P'ang (740-808)
Isn't this a perfect reminder that it isn't "stuff" or "busyness" that makes us peaceful and content? If you've been feeling a little frantic lately, it could be because your mind is too full of things that don't really matter....
Just be happy!
The very purpose of our lives is happiness and joyfulness. That is very clear. -The Dalai Lama
The way to overcome negative thoughts and destructive emotions is to develop opposing, positive emotions that are stronger and more powerful
