Help! My Wife Turned Into a Trilobite!!: The Anime, The Yuri, The Manga
#that's not a trilobite tho...#<prev i was thinking that
My wife (OP) knows its not a trilobite. Iby-dysphoria-queen knew it wasn't a trilobite (you can check the tags)
all i'm doing is trolling my wife and friend
the enemy drank water today. did you?
i drank water three days ago. im several steps ahead of the enemy. this is what it takes to win
Hamlet adaptation where Hamlet is a vlogger and all his soliloquies are breakdowns he uploads to YouTube
… I am unironically here for this
this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life
This is - legitimately - my favourite delivery of Shakespeare I have EVER seen (and I have seen some good-ass productions yo, in the Globe Theatre itself even). Like seriously, even though the words are unchanged, he’s stripped away ALL of the archaic pretense and assumed grandeur of ~presenting the bard~ that makes even the most wildly talented of actors and innovative of productions inherently inaccessible to a modern audience. Like, they’re still great, they can still communicate the message and (some) of the nuance, but they’re still always a step removed from being identifiable to any viewer’s lived experience. They’re still always reciting 15th century poetry. But this guy? This guy is like, screw iambic pentameter, to hell with being precious about the material, HOW WOULD AN ACTUAL PERSON SAY THIS SHIT?
Like this. And it’s beautiful. It’s beautiful to hear a soliloquy I loved so much already, and have it come to life in a way it never, ever, did before. I feel like I grasp his motivations, his twists and turns, no longer on an academic level but on a visceral, instinctive one. Because he’s presenting his mental and emotional journey in a way that speaks honestly, like a real person.
So yeah, this shit post? I love it. Deeply and sincerely.
A post about this went round recently, and I’m delighted to announce she’s since come out as trans and goes by Jasmine 🏳️⚧️
Actor and Writer
There’s a whole series of the Hamlet videos on her YouTube, as well as a bunch of other films she’s made
Estrogen has not made me vain my analytical mind just requires I look at my ass in the mirror whenever I'm in the bathroom. Yes every time. Yes I have to jiggle it a little.
Very nice trans gal working the counter at the weed store today. She saw my ID and very quickly asked if I had a preferred name and also complimented my top. Truly a blessed 4/20
Other people have touched on this more eloquently, but I love that Ryland Grace is at his core a teacher. A middle school science teacher. Sure, his background as a former academic is also critical to the story, mostly because something about him needed to catch Stratt's eye and thus result in him getting dragged into the project, but more importantly than that, he hated being in academia. The book makes it fairly explicit that he wrote his controversial paper and insulted a leading scientist in his field because he was burnt out and hated the environment and got self-destructive as a result, which is a far less rosy view of academic science than I would have expected (and, frankly, completely believable).
And then he left and became a middle school science teacher. And that turned out to be his real calling. He was bright and creative and a little bit brilliant and a genuinely good scientist, and he gave that world up to teach kids and he loved it. Even after everything, after the Petrova Taskforce and Project Hail Mary and Tau Ceti and ultimately ending up on Erid, his calling is to teach kids.
As someone who has dipped in and out of the science communication/science education world myself, it's so important to me that Grace loves teaching, and especially that he loves teaching kids. People really devalue science communication work, and there's often this unspoken assumption that the people doing it just aren't "smart enough" to become real scientists, so they do scicomm instead. And everything about Grace flies in the face of that -- he's perfectly capable of doing the science, but it's not what he loves the most! What he loves and values and finds important is teaching, and I adore that. It's so refreshing to see, and such a genuine love letter to educators, and to everyone who chooses to prioritize communication and education regardless of how specialized they may or may not be in their field.
His happy ending is to be a teacher. And that's so important.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
Behold! The printing titty!
I normally tag these posts “specific ass machines” after a minor meme that blew through Tumblr, but I was tempted to tag this one “specific boob machines”.
(Artist meow25meow seems to have had their Twitter account nuked and I cannot find any other original source to link to.)

This is how I feel about Joshua Trees. They and avocado trees produce fruit meant to be eaten and dispersed by giant ground sloths. Without them, the Joshua Trees' range has shrunk by 90%.
(my own photos)
Not only they, but the entire Mojave ecosystem is still struggling to adapt since the loss of ground sloth dung. their chief fertilizer.
Many, many trees and plants in the Americas have widely-spaced, extremely long thorns that do nothing to discourage deer eating their leaves, but would've penetrated the fur of ground sloths and mammoths. Likewise, if you've observed a tree that drops baseball or softball-sized fruit which lies on the ground and rots, like Osage Oranges, which were great for playing catch at my school, chances are they were ground sloth or mammoth chow.
You can read about various orphaned plants and trees missing their megafauna in this poignant post:
Trees that once depended on animals like the wooly mammoth for survival have managed to adapt and survive in the modern world.

First quote from the linked article. Found it poetic.
the giant ground sloth thing is apparently false (wrong timing iirc?) but. still.
Honestly I don't think you should need a diagnosis of anything to get HRT. I think you should just be able to go buy it at CVS like it's ibuprofen.
"Ohhh but what if people misuse it and get sick???" They sell cigarettes at gas stations, those make you sick when you use them properly!
Put warning labels on it. List recommended dosages by body weight & desired effect. Like any other medication.
In a perfect world HRT would be an OTC medication that anybody can obtain.
Like there are OTC medications that can actively kill you and fuck you up turbostyle if you exceed the dosages, but do beneficial things dor the human body (re: All Painkillers!) But we dont lock those behind a perscription! You're ebcouraged to buy and keep lethal doses of them on hand for whenever you need them (they sell them by the MULTIPLE HUNDREDS) Its painfully obvious its just to deny people bodily autonomy. It was never about protecting anyone from anything. It is about control.
Finally. Normal porn is back on this website.
I just learned that a lot of vintage perfumes and fragrances were intentionally created to blend well with the ever-present smell of cigarettes, and in specific a lot of iconic ones that are super musky and floral and civet-heavy were intended to compliment the smell of fur coats or even "refresh" that new fur coat smell, which is one of the reasons (besides just shifting preferences and trends) that a lot of them smell really, really bad to modern noses.
I bet there's some stunning genius diva out there right now who meticulously coordinates her Victoria's Secret body mists with her vape flavors.
