It’s Trans Day of Visibility - so here’s me being visible!

I’m Mischa. I use xe/xem pronouns (will also accept they/them). I’m an audio producer, engineer & designer. I’ve been working in podcasts since 2015, and live performance audio since even before that.

My biggest claim to fame is as showrunner for @arsparadoxica & audio producer for @thebrightsessions, which I know the Tumblr folks love! I’m currently serving as GM & sound wizard for actual-play podcast The Wandering Path, co-hosting Simple and Clean: A Kingdom Hearts Podcast with my good friend Mayanna Berrin, and editing & producing anywhere from 7-10 shows a week at Multitude - stuff like astronomy show Pale Blue Pod, the American Chemical Society’s Tiny Matters, “true” crime podcast Crime Adjacent, weekly drops for websites like Defector and Aftermath, and so many more.

I know this seems kind of frivolous. There’s been so much death and tragedy, and I’m making little shows with my friends…

But I can’t be in the streets. I have been the only ambulance-carried casualty of non-violent events too many times to attend large-scale potentially-violent action. Not only do I become an early casualty, a physical obstacle and a drain on resources, but trauma has left me with an incredibly strong freeze response. I’m so afraid I’d just be in the way if something, anything, goes wrong.

This is what I can do. Uplift voices, champion ideas. Make the best possible version of the argument for a better world. And do my damnedest to make my friends laugh as often as possible, hopefully while we’re recording it.
