Does anyone have articles on how antidepressants affect women's mating choices? Someone posted about it on here a while back and now I can't find anything on it.

If I remember correctly, it had something to do with suppressing fear and anxiety thus no longer valuing a strong, protective mate.

Well, maybe my memory's faulty but here's what I did find:

Compared to the female control group, venlafaxine significantly reduced the attraction index, selection index, and mating index of female fish.

When the researchers looked at all the study participants, they found that those taking SSRIs were more likely to say they felt less at ease with sharing their partners' thoughts and feelings, and less wishful that their love for their partner would last forever

Unfortunately, the most common pharmacological treatments for depression and anxiety, specifically selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), exacerbate FSD (Lorenz et al., 2016; Montgomery, 2002). SSRIs can contribute to any of the three categories of sexual dysfunction, and negative sexual effects emerge well before positive mood effects (Gelenberg et al., 2013; Lorenz et al., 2016).
