re. the last reblog, I have aĀ āreading webcomicsā primer zine Iāve been meaning to finish for like a year with some resources on how to start reading webcomics whenĀ ā37,000 to choose from spanning all genresā is a bit overwhelming. but like goddamn seriously, read webcomics. everything youāre missing from mass-market blockbuster bullshit is THERE
ACTUALLY the biggest ace up my sleeve is @webcomiclibraryā who does amazing work curating an incredibly comprehensive list of webcomics, searchable by ALL KIND of categories:
For example, my webcomic on their site:
Itās an incredible resource and a great place to start whether youāre likeĀ āIāve read everything that existsā orĀ āWebcomics who?ā
Aw it means so much to hear folks finding works through the library! Sometimes it can be a little hard to remember that the library has an effect on the people outside of my inner circle so knowing that people actively use it to find content they love brings me so much joy!
Thereās such an ocean of amazing creators and stories in the community Iāve never come across two that are the same. Every single one brings something special and unique to the table. Thereās so much more diversity in the community than you might not see in mainstream media but with how indie based the medium is it can be hard to know where to start. I can only hope to share some of the joy that I have for the community that it gives to me everyday! For folks not familiar with the Webcomic Library hereās a direct link to the Database. Itās updated and added to regularly as well as archived by the Library of Congress!
The Library is a huge project that I put a lot of love into. Most of what you see is curated and gathered on my own. If youāre ever interested in supporting the library beyond what you see here, I have a Linktree with a variety of ways to do so. You can help add or edit comics to the library, follow on social media, or send a few dollars towards the project.
Thanks for your time and I hope you find some comics you love!
