In my mind, a young Al Pacino could play Snape.

I head-canon that Snape has big, beautiful eyes that give away his intensity.

So, naturally, as I've been practicing digital painting, I had to try and make it happen. Here's my best shot. It's Al Pacino with a little bit of Snape (and, unintentionally, a little bit of Rachel Green).

Not sure why it's a new trend among fic readers to assume if the fic has not been posted within the week it's inappropriate to comment on it, like the fic has to be hot out of the oven to give feedback for.

I got a comment on a fic that is less than a year old and it was mostly an apology for being a comment on an "old fic" and how late they were in commenting.

Just comment on the fic. Doesn't matter how old it is.

 Minerva put down her quill at last, having marked the last of the week’s essays, and eyed the clock. At last. Just after curfew on a Friday, her favourite time of the week. Time to shake off the shackles of teaching and Deputy Headmistressing for a few blessed hours.     Within seconds a striped tabby cat sat in the chair the human professor had just occupied.  She indulged in a lengthy stretch, arching her back with her paws straight out in front, relishing the lithe, nimble way her feline body moved. She leapt from the chair and headed down the corridor, stopping to meow quietly at Argus’ office door.     “Heard it was a real buffet down in the dungeons tonight, Minnie,” Mrs Norris informed her, padding out to join her in the corridor. “The Weasley boys have been stashing sweets in one of the alcoves, and Argus has been muttering about droppings.”    “Say no more, Nancy,” Minerva meowed back, slinking down the corridor alongside her moggy mate.  “How’s he been this week?”    “All of a dither! Got a response to his ad from a Miss “Hopeful in a Hogsmeade.” With a photo… he’s spent more time staring at the bloody thing than he has breathing.”    Minerva yowled in amusement. “Filius was cheeky, getting him to agree to a personals ad! Well, perhaps there’ll be a love connection, who knows?”     “He’s not got time for a girlfriend! Not with all the cleaning and repair work there is to do and-“    “Why Nancy, do I detect a bit of jealousy? Don’t worry, he’s not even met the woman yet. You’ll always be his number one girl.”    “And you, Minnie?” Mrs Norris asked. “You were part of that silly idea, too. Have you had many responses?”    “Och, three so far. One from a Mr “Bleating Heart” that seems promising. No photo, but he says he owns a local business, and has a beard. You know how I fancy men with beards.”    “Speaking of mysterious men, here comes one now.”  The formidable form of Professor Snape strode down the dungeon corridor, cloaks billowing behind him like thick smoke. “I don’t suppose you talked him into placing an ad?”    “Oh, if only!” Minerva trilled. “Merlin knows a shag would do him a world of good!”    Snape glided closer, giving the mewling felines a cocked eyebrow. “Third alcove on the left, Minnie,” he intoned, his drawl languid and precisely articulated. “Behind the tapestry of Neptune the Narcoleptic.”  The echo of his footsteps softened as he made his way out of the dungeons.     The scurrying and squeaks of rodents could be heard as the cats neared the alcove in question. Minerva’s nose twitched at the sweet scent of tender mouse flesh.  “Well Nancy, shall we feast?”    Mrs Norris narrowed her eyes into a sharp predatory gaze and crouched, spring-loaded and ready to strike. “Meee-ow.”

  She was sitting on the bed, leaning against the headboard with her knees drawn up when he entered the room half an hour later - deeply engrossed in his special vintage Playboy.  “At last,” she sighed.  “I thought you’d forgotten me.  I hope you don’t mind.  This was under the pillow.”  

   “I believe you were instructed to ruminate on your misdeeds?  Not take the liberty of perusing my personal property?”  

   “I thought very hard about my wrongs, sir. Really I did.”  Her tone was one hundred percent brat.  “But unlike you, I don’t have a mind that can occupy itself for long stretches. And I was told not to touch myself.   And this… well, it’s certainly stimulating.”  She stretched out on her stomach, kicking her legs about in the air whilst she opened the magazine to the centrefold.  The shiny black heels she was still wearing glinted in the light of the bedside lamp.  “Oh my, what’s this then?  “The Professor’s Perfect Assistant?”  How very interesting… and a vintage edition as well.  Quite rough around the edges, isn’t it?  Mmm, I can tell you’ve enjoyed this particular issue quite a bit”

   His silken baritone cut through her like a hot knife through butter. “A man has needs, Miss.”
