the fact hijabi amputee is basically a meme for the excesses of "woke 1.0 representation" ("woke 1.0" itself being an antiblack term) is really crazy to me. i went to high school with a hijabi girl who had a stump for an arm, although she was born with it rather than it being an amputation. yes, i know more hijabis than someone living in a whites-only town like most people who make such jokes, but hijabi amputees are real people. some of whom are gay or poly or w/e btw

not to mention like, gaza has one of the highest rates of amputees in the world, and you're telling me hijabi amputee is such an unrealistic combination you couldn't possibly imagine such a person being gay and/or trans

One of the most fucked up parts of America’s for-profit medical system and insurance often being tied to your work is that you cannot work if you are sick and if you are not working, you have no insurance. People are fired in the middle of cancer treatment or a severe mental health episode and suddenly there is no way to pay the hospital and buy the medicine you need. Republicans will outright say “You don’t deserve free healthcare if you’re lazy and unemployed.” anytime someone mentions this, actively ignoring the fact that you often cannot work when you are sick and shouldn’t be forced to work when you’re sick to be able to afford to get better.

here's the thing ab these transmascs being butthurt that transfem ppl are "always separatists" and "hate tmes" . I have such a difficult time even humoring this (aka I don't) bc all u have to do is just .... not be a raging transmisogynist . like I hope this doesn't come off as weird and feel free to tell me if it does !! but the Vast Majority of my followers and mutuals r transfems . I would honestly place it at somewhere around 85% , and most of them just found me from random reblogs or just interacting with them kindly (and no , sexual advances do not count) . so when I hear whining and bitching ab how much transfems want to "break up the community" what I'm hearing is "I'm mad that these women are not giving me (any kind of) access to them so I can treat them like shit" or honestly "I'm so intolerable to women that they can't stand my presence" too . just like . be nice . tell her she's pretty and that u care ab her . don't spend all ur time online complaining ab how much u hate people like her . idk , its just not that hard to treat women like human beings yk .

Something nobody prepares you for is that the better you get at writing the harder it becomes. beginners write freely because they don't know enough to know what's wrong. then you learn. and suddenly you can see every single flaw in real time as you're making it and you have to write anyway while your own brain is in the corner going "that's a weak verb. that transition is lazy. you've used that word three times." getting good at this is mostly just getting better at ignoring yourself.
