On Kat Von D & the antivax thing
In all KVD’s alleged research, I wonder that she hasn’t come across the term ‘Herd Immunity’. It’s an important part of what has greatly reduced the threat of many illnesses and diseases over the years. It protects those who CANNOT be vaccinated. It saves lives. It’s so important that we as a local, national, and global community do what we can to protect not only ourselves but those around us. We are so close to completely eradicating diseases that have historically killed babies & small children. Almost gone are the people who live in iron lungs, and this battle against disease; where human intervention, intelligence & ingenuity have saved countless lives, came the rise of a generation who forgot just how deadly these diseases are. They don’t have any context of living with the pain of something now easily avoided. Choosing instead to believe that the very medicine once thought of as a global miracle, is now the cause more damage than it prevents.
I encourage all people to be critical, study what you wish to understand & always ask questions. But this anti vax movement is utter BULLSHIT. It is based on ‘evidence’ very quickly and completely refuted. It was started by a man who had no business calling himself a doctor. Fear, as it so often is, was used as a profit-making tool. Andrew Wakefield did profit - he profited from fear, and it has led to countless deaths. The man was struck off for unethical conduct, fraud, and other charges. I implore you to look it up. He is a bastard of a man & he has the blood of too many people on his hands.
Andrew Wakefield. Murderer. A profit driven murderer who exploited his position of trust & authority.
I cannot in all good conscience continue to support KVD’s brand. I cannot put money in the pocket of someone so wilfully ignorant, so ready to endanger their child & those around him. Most of all I can’t support someone who announces this, demanding absolutely no blowback. Everyone has a right to raise their child how they see fit. But that only works when it’s not dangerously close to child abuse.
KVD knows she has an audience that hold her word as some sort of gospel. Her ignorant views have just convinced others to do the same, & that’s not ok. This isn’t asking people to respect her choices as a mother, but encouraging them to make stupid fucking decisions which WILL endanger people. Would you pick & choose what part of the wonder of medicine & healthcare you ‘believe’ in?
Disease doesn’t give a shit about your morals.
I genuinely hope KVD never has to cope with the pain of disease or illness visited on her child. I especially hope that the herd immunity around him protects him. I never want any child to be in danger. But until she sees fucking sense, my money & support are going elsewhere.
PS. KVD isn’t stupid. She’s been in the public eye for a long time. She’s had countless dramas & scandals. To think she honestly believes the criticism against her here is just ‘haters’ & without merit is laughable. Consequences my dear. Victimhood doesn’t suit you. Try again.
