Making an intro post bc I've been enjoying dipping my toes back into this world and think I might stick around for a bit...
Hi! My name is Andrew (actually it's not, but that's what you can call me). I started using tumblr in 2012 as a queer high schooler trying to keep up with the fandoms my friends were into and was completely hooked. Just like it did for lots of people, fandom gave me a place to explore my queerness and feel like I belonged. My relationship with this website and social media in general has changed a lot over time, but I still think this is the funniest place on the internet. I've gotten to a point where I only lurk on social media that has any connection to my real life anymore, so I wanted to start a new blog completely anonymously to see if having thoughts and opinions online could be any fun again. We'll see!
I'm not sure what this blog will turn into, it certainly won't be specific to any one fandom. Right now I'm really enjoying the Dan and Phil resurgence for all its sweet, millennial, nerdy, romantic, satisfying joy. Tomorrow it could be something else. I have a soft spot for complicated (but ultimately joyful) love stories about men who love men choosing each other even when it's hard.
Some other facts about me that may or may not be interesting:
I'm a white gay trans man
I'm a small scale livestock farmer
I have a cat and a dog
I'm extremely kinky and non-monogamous
I feel strongly about prioritizing platonic friendships
I've been known to write fanfiction occasionally here
My blog title comes from an Ada Limón poem
I live in the midwestern united states
I love to camp/hike/canoe/swim etc
I had a very short lived professional theater career before completely burning out and briefly moving to a town with a population of less than 4,000
My twenties were about patience in the face of uncertainty. Going into my thirties I'm hoping to live in a feedback loop of gratitude and generosity.
