Ch. 7: Natural Born Healer - Sketch and Final. Link falls out of his tree house, breaking his arm as a result. Mipha sticks with him through the recovery process, and he finds that the pain is never unbearable by her side. Sola, Mipha's mom, recounts the story of the Zora Princess during the Age of the Calamity, who had a gift of healing -- making note of the brave Hylian Warrior her heart belonged to just as well.

This is the last of the crayon/coloured pencil age of drawings -- it was fun to explore this child-like drawing style. It helped me step back and try to simplify things, no matter how much I wanted to continuously complicate them.

Ch. 6: Snow Days - Sketch and Final

During a particularly snowy stretch during the winter months in Central Hyrule, Mipha is forced to stay inside due to her species' aversion to the harsh elements. She misses out on playing with her best friend, until he devises a plan to get her outside -- which ends up causing an unfortunate incident in which lessons are properly learned. He refused to leave her side, and spent the evening sipping cocoa and wrapped up in blankets.

Ch. 5: Spirit's Eve - Sketch and Final

What was supposed to be teasing/bullying from Cawlin turned out to be a new plan for a Spirit's Eve costume! Dressing line each other for Spirit's Eve was a perfect idea, and Link's mom, Uli, was more than happy to put everything together for them!

This was one of the final art pieces I actually did, since I was burnt out and had no ideas how to make it unique. I decided to make an attempt at emulating my friend @snail-studios art style. Not quite exact, but it was fun to give my best shot at it!

Ch.4: A perfectly good Piñata - sketch and final

Now 9 years old, Link and Mipha make an unlikely friend out of the biggest bully in their class, Groose. All it took was beating him up a bit and getting him in a headlock to pique his interest in learning new methods to overpower his posse. At his birthday party, there is a natural interest in the candy overflow from the broken piñata, however, Link was not about to waste a perfectly good meal.

Ch.3: Siblings - Sketch and Final

Another year goes by, Link and Mipha are now 8 years old. After the birth of Link's sister, Ilia, Mipha was saddened by the fact that she did not have a blood sibling of her own. After a lot of thought, Dorephan and Sola decided they were ready to raise another child -- thus baby Sidon was brought into the world.

Ch.2: A Buffet for Zoras - original sketch, revised sketch, and Final.

A year has passed, Link and Mipha are now 7 years old. Link shows Mipha and her parents the wonders of the Castle Town Carnival -- specifically what he calls "a buffet specifically for Zoras". Twas not a buffet at all, but a pool for goldfish, and an opportunity to make a new friend! Unfortunately, their new goldfish friend, Gildan, was not quite as amused.

CH.1: New Neighbors - Sketch & Final

Mipha and her family move to central Hyrule and meet their new neighbors: Rusl, Uli, and Link! Originally, this chapter was meant to start them at 4 years old, but for time and exhaustion, I cut two chapters from the story and started them at 6 years old. At the time I was making this, I wanted the art style to progress with their age, but then I went off the rails and did a bunch of other things. That said, I liked the Crayon style and thought it fit, so it stuck for a few pieces!

My last post aside, I did this a long time ago and forgot to post it. A glow up post to replace my old PFP. I'm sorry, and you are welcome. Yes, I used Puri-puri prisoner as reference for both. The original was from about 2018, the new one is from early 2023. I still have a lot of growth and learning to do, but art is fun, and enjoying it is the best part.

Sorry for the horrendous lack of activity as of late. Anyone following my page is going to be eating well come August. Many different art styles, a bunch of different subjects, and a new, more recognizable signature. Party time, my Miphlink freaks.

Typically my art posts are progress threads, but I forgot to save the progress points on this piece. Nonetheless, I did a title page piece for my friend @only-by-the-stars -- it is probably one of my favourite pieces so far. Took way longer than I would have wanted, but the details I chose to go with were worth the time it took.

Another one this evening! I started this one *months* before I ever finished it with a completely different direction. Originally, it was going to be a full detail dance with a lighthouse lamp lighting the background, but I realized:

"Why draw details and background when I could just.. not?"

Thus, Lighthouse Dancing was born.
