there's always at least one Israeli flag or Imperial Iran flag at those white supremacist rallies
Genuine question
Is there an Iranian flag of the people and not the regime???
ehhhh. there are older flags that predate the Pahlavi monarchy, but no “democratic” flags as they are all tied to some dynasty. there are a number of political party flags from various resistance groups (eg Iran party, national council of resistance of iran)
I kinda want to switch to Linux but I’m scared cuz I’ve used Windows for my whole 23 years of existence
most people who've switched to linux have used windows for their whole life in the past
there is a learning curve, yes, but its not as steep as you'd imagine
you can do it
and people are there to help you if you need it
start off with a simple user friendly distro, personally i suggest linux mint but you'll hear many other opinions and thoughts on the matter if you do even very little research
and if you find any issue im sure the great majority of linux blogs would love to help!
using something like linux mint can give you a near identical windows experience without all of the bloat, ai, and spyware. i’m the kind of person to use the terminal for everything, but i have a number of friends who only use linux but never touch the terminal, it’s very doable!!
from the bottom of my fucking heart. how are we supposed to live under these conditions.
You come from a long line of people who have survived, in many cases survived real horrors, and found that survival worthwhile. Find something to be moved by. Find something or someone to move.
"queer-owned business" means nothing. OpenAI and Palantir are both queer-owned businesses.
its kinda hard to celebrate trans day of visibility because the visibility we're getting lately is like
I’m not Christian, I don’t go to church anymore, and my pastor died, but when he was alive I’d sometimes go to his sermons and I remember one time he said “it feels good to hate, but we know that it isn’t allowed, so when we’re told that we’re allowed to hate someone we get so excited that we forget we’re supposed to love”, and if my humble atheist ass might borrow some church talk I’d like to perhaps submit that
Anyhow sometimes on the day to day I feel disgust or revulsion and I have to ask myself “is this a danger to anyone at all or am I just looking for something I’m allowed to hate” and a solid 98/100 times it’s the latter so once again thank you pastor D
procrastinator and perfectionist call that uh… suicidal
Reblogs in a chain now get their own notes
The reblog chain is one of the things that makes Tumblr unlike anywhere else. All the notes on reblogs are attributed to the original post, no matter which branch people actually liked or reblogged. We want to keep encouraging conversations, and give contributors the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to like, reblog, or reply to any part of a reblog chain, and that note will go to that reblog's author. Each reblog will have its own counts, instead of one aggregated number from every version of the post. And yes, you’ll be able to like multiple posts in one chain.
If a reblog doesn't add anything, the love flows up to the last person in the chain who did. Your post doesn't lose notes just because people spread it quietly.
Past notes will stay on the original post — we're only changing what happens from here on out. Retroactively re-attributing all of them would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out – stay tuned!
Let's talk about reblog notes.
We rolled out a significant change to how notes work on reblogs, and the reaction has been strong. We're not going to pretend otherwise.
First things first: We're reversing the change. Your feedback in comments, emails, and especially reblogs, made clear that the rollout created problems we need to address before moving forward. We also should have communicated this differently from the start, and we didn't.
We still believe there's a better version of how reblogs can work. One that gives every voice in a chain the credit it deserves. But we want to get there with you.
In the coming days we'll share more on how we plan to do that, including ways to work directly with some of you on this and future changes before they ship.
Keep an eye on @staff for updates to come soon.
oh my god. OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD
on tumblr staffs own post on the subject, they cant see the criticism because its all going to tammamolandias reblog (and everyone before her im sure)
they would have to. go to HER blog. and THEN look at the activity. to see what people are saying. theyve created a machine where the consequences of their actions are automatically hidden from them. thats so fucking on the nose that its almost funny. if it werent so upsetting
Mice in your home now get their own doors
A door is one of the things that makes a building unlike any other structure. All the doors in buildings are intended for human use, no matter which species actually enter and exit. We want to keep encouraging cross-species interactions, and give the smallest members of our communities the recognition they deserve.
Soon, you'll be able to see, smell, and hear the mice in your home, and they will be able to see, smell, and hear you in return. Each mouse will have its own door, instead of one large door intended to accommodate all visitors. And yes, you'll be able to welcome multiple mice through a single door.
If a door falls into disuse due to illness, injury, or death, another mouse will be placed into your home. You won't lose mice just because they die.
Past mice will stay in your home-- including corpses. Removing all of those would be... a lot.
This is just the beginning. More changes are coming as we keep building this out - stay tuned!
It's very clear that you all have strong feelings about your homes and about this change. We hear you. The passion people have for their homes is one of the things that makes them special.
As this rolls out over the next few days and you explore it, we'll keep infesting your homes with new mice, so please stay in your homes, and do not leave.
Your presence has always been our favorite part of your home, whether you're a person or a mouse, and nothing about this change is meant to limit that.
If you'd like to discuss this change, leave a note in one of the mouse holes and we'll follow up with as many of you as we can. We want to work with you to put more mice in your home.
