Entry 1: Realization
Yesterday, Saturday 20th September 2014, I turned 34. I thought by now I have seen and heard it all. That's in theory! In reality, I realized I still have a long way to go and LOTS to learn. Especially as (single) mother.
I am a mother of a 13 month girl. Due to relationship issues, I made a very difficult decision to be a single mother. With the support of my family and wonderful good friends, I manage to keep my head high, kept sane and still had my faith intact! My girl is my world now and as much as I love her to bits, I still need a LOT of patience, knowledge and strategies to nurture her.
One recent strategy I have come to learn is regarding feeding; how to encourage your child to eat the dish you prepared. I prepared a plate of her favourite food (at the moment she is in to rice and tofu) in front of her so she can self feed. While she is concentrating at the dish in front of her, I feed her spoonful of veggies and protein. It works like a charm! Ha!
Hence this is what I wished for on my birthday; to be a better mother with extra patience and the willingness to keep on learning. Because one important thing I have learned so far is being a mother is one of the hardest jobs in the whole universe!!
