I hate that that I'm making sm posts about YuJae Seon, since he didn't seem to be one of the long term major players, but something about his story really speaks to me.
Honestly, the fact that he managed to be a double agent and plan things to play out the way they did speaks volumes about his intelligence and determination, ALOT MORE than I think people give him credit for.
The war dragged on for almost 10 years, and he had to keep anticipating how to secretly help Speed, all while remaining credible in his position at the top of the vipers' den. It's a very fine line to balance. Given his background, it'd be easy for Mujin and the HK guy to start suspecting him if he seemed too complacent.
To be able to play the long game with such high stakes, even more so because he already has so much to repent for and can't fail, makes me respect his abilities, more than almost any other character. I can't think of anyone else who showed such good foresight, except maybe James but atp he feels more like a bg character that PTJ throws in once in a while to hype things up like a narrator.
Yujae had to keep up his mask on for 10 years, always scheming, always pretending, all while knowing the ppl he cared for the most hated him, and rightfully so since it WAS his fault Yugang Ha died.
He hated himself too.
All that he did was to find peace and forgive himself before dying. It was never about Speed understanding him or for things to go back the way it used to be. The kind of guilt he felt probably would only be erased in death.
And that's what makes me sympathise with him so much. It's very tragic how a suicide mission was the only way he could find peace, when it was only because a gross coincidence turned his good intentions to help into his biggest regret, that he spent the rest of his life repenting.
I wish he wouldn't have to die, but I suppose the guilt would always stay. The only catharsis would be dying knowing that he sacrificed EVERYTHING to let Speed win, thus atoning for his sins.
Rest in peace, Yujae, you've more than made up for any mistakes.
THE DUALITY OF THIS MAN like yuta on the left pls look at me like im trash and belittle my entire existence in a monotone voice then pick me up and threaten me with that katana BUT yuta on the right is just so precious and adorable with that dorky smile i just wanna pinch his cheeks or bully him until he's flustered and looking at me all pitifully which would make me do it even more AHAHWHWUA JUST FOR HIM TO COME BACK IN THE FUTURE AS THE VERSION ON THE LEFT TO GET REVENGE IT WILL BE GLORUOUS AHAHHAG STEP ON ME YUTAAAAAAAAA

Gojo Satoru x Reader
You try to break up with Gojo Satoru due to your insecurity but he's having none of that.
(1.5k words, oneshot)
"I can't do this anymore."
"Do what anymore, sweetheart?" Gojo cocked his head and grinned at you mischievously.
"Us, I don't...I just can't. I'm sorry," you stood up and began leaving much to Gojo's alarm.
"Woah woah, hold your horses, little missy," your wrist was tugged back by your boyfriend-turned-ex. Gojo was upon you in a flash.
"Where do you think you're running off to?"
A pair of electric blue eyes burned into yourself as Gojo peered at you intensely. His gaze scanned over you as if trying to uncover a conceivable reason why you'd want to end the relationship. You felt your hairs prick up and shoved him away, mortified.
The silence that hung between the both of you stretched into forever, though in reality, it lasted for merely 3 seconds. Gojo looked astounded, all traces of playfulness now gone.
"What do you mean?" he asked concerned.
"Look, if this is about your leftovers that I-"
"Gojo, please just leave me alone," you begged earnestly, hoping your voice wouldn't break and lead to a meltdown.
You wanted to leave before it could happen, stumbling out the door, heading straight home.
The truth was you had always noticed the sheer gap between you and Gojo in all aspects possible, whether it be in terms of physical attractiveness or power. Everyone knew Gojo Satoru, the most powerful Jujutsu sorcerer in the world, the only one to have been born with the Six-Eyes and limitless technique in the last 400 years. He drew eyes whenever he walked into a room, that confident stride promising an easygoingness that came from knowing you would always be far above everyone else.
You knew what people must've thought when they saw you as his girlfriend. You were a mere wallflower, not even deserving of a second glance. You hated it whenever people stared at you for a second longer than you thought necessary, imagined their withering judgement as they took you in with disdain. You felt your clothes tighten, and every flaw on your body became more noticeable than ever.
You compared yourself with just about anyone. Gojo was surrounded by plenty of attractive people such as Shoko Ieiri, and you felt like an ugly duckling amongst them. But you had to hide it. After all, you were Gojo Satoru's girlfriend.
Thus, you began trying to change yourself in a desperate hope that you'd be happier with yourself, going on diets, and working out rigorously.
Nothing ever lasted. You would always go back to your normal self. Disgusting self, was what you thought. The mirror was a dreadful reminder of what you were when you glanced into it every day, and soon that got covered up, too, like your body. All the while, you acted your usual on the outside, keeping up the mask that served to hide your self-loathing.
Things escalated when you feared physical contact with Gojo, thinking that whenever he hugged you from behind, all your rolls of fat could be felt. The insecurity became so crippling that you were utterly miserable until you finally decided to end your relationship with him.
For the next 2 days, you kept to yourself at home, ignoring the incessant texts from Gojo before you blocked him. You thought things were finally over until your door got broken down, blasted open on its hinges by Gojo.
"Oops, didn't mean to be so rough," he shrugged as he strode in.
"Now then. Enough is enough."
The next second, you were lifted up and set in front of Gojo.
"What's your problem, lady? You thought you could just break up with me without a reasonable explanation?" he scoffed.
"Tell me why or I'm not leaving," he demanded.
You tried to speak, but a lump in your throat left you mute. How would you begin to explain the inferiority you felt compared to him? Gojo waited for you patiently, but your voice had vanished.
"If this is about thinking you're not good enough, you'd better stop now," Gojo warned.
He snickered at your questioning look.
"I'm more observant than people give me credit for. Did you think I wouldn't see the way you shy away from my hugs?" he pouted before sighing dramatically.
"This is an emergency, I can't have my sweetheart hating herself, now can I?" he mumbled, hand holding his chin in thought.
"Got it! I guess I'll just have to drill it into you then," he smirked, eyes darkening as he pressed feather kisses from your forehead to your eyes, cheeks, lips, neck, making his way down slowly. Compared to his kisses, his rough hands caressed your body urgently, kneading and stroking all the places where you used to allow him to do so before growing insecure.
"I love you here, here, here..." he whispered sensually, starting to life your shirt over your head but you stopped him, afraid of being bared.
"Don't-"
Gojo silenced you with a kiss, biting harshly on your lips.
"Uh-uh, let me work my magic and make you feel real good, kay?" Gojo grinned maniacally.
You didn't dare to speak under his feral gaze and he took it as a sign to continue.
The air hummed with electricity. You felt your body flush as the room turned stuffy, becoming indescribably hot. Gojo's touches burned your skin and you could feel a raw desire pooling in your stomach as his fingers danced all over the curves and dips of your body.
You were helpless under Gojo's ministrations and soon laid under him in all your glory.
It had been too long for Gojo since he was allowed to admire you. After all, you had distanced yourself from him and it was now time to make up for what he missed out on. Gojo paused his teasing and looked down at you before opening his mouth.
"Buckle up, sweetheart."
All you remembered of the next few hours was pure bliss as well as you and Gojo chanting each other's names like a mantra. He slammed into you over and over again, never faltering, all while whispering sweet nothings into your hair. Your body was stretched to its limits and the sensations made you see stars in your vision. It was too much yet never enough at the same time.
His long and slender fingers constantly prodded in and out of you, swiping and circling where he knew it felt irresistible. Impossibly quick, tantalizingly slow; over and over again in a vicious cycle, to the point where it had you begging for his sadistic torture to end, granting you release. Gojo knew your body better than yourself, and could rely on his deft fingers alone to strip you of your defenses.
Gojo worked himself to the bone, playing you like an instrument expertly as you tried but failed to stifle noises that would make a sailor blush.
You almost came multiple times, just for Gojo to stop after driving you to the edge and pulling you back again. He frowned at you in mock disappointment.
"I don't like it when you cover yourself," he taunted derisively. From then on, Gojo made sure your mouth was free to make any noise he wanted you to, unless of course he chose to fill it up himself personally.
The taste of salt and passion permeated your senses, prompting you to understand exactly what it meant to be claimed by Gojo.
Ruffling your hair, Gojo kept praising you, coaxing climaxes out from your body time after time. It was almost too much and you trembled from the insistent stimulation.
"Just like that, one more time? You're doing so well," he cooed. Even if you couldn't, you had to. Gojo never halted his actions to let you catch your breath. In and out, in and out, Gojo moved at a speed that was more beast than man. You howled his name, unsure if you were pleading for him to cease and desist or continue.
As the moon shone and sparkled in its obsidian tapestry that was the peaceful night, you and Gojo danced the devil's tango, with Gojo leading. Bodies colliding, breaths mixing, hands entangling, your eyes never dared to leave Gojo's as he demonstrated personally his affections towards you.
He had you enchanted with the way he looked, groaning at the sight of you and kissing anywhere he could on your body. Saliva and sweat pooled together, glimmering on your skins.
Gojo's eyes sparkled brighter than the stars as he stared down at your body ardently, raking over everything. Bodies still connected, he clasped your hand and linked your fingers together, bringing them to his mouth. His eyes never leaving yours, Gojo kissed every single one of your knuckles.
"You're so pretty, y'know that?" he sighed.
"I never want to stop loving your body."
The next morning, your body was littered with black and purple marks, a reminder of what went down the night before. You stumbled getting out from bed and was caught in Gojo's embrace. He chuckled amusedly, hair tousled from slumber.
"Woah there, looks like someone had too much fun last night. Your legs still working or nah?" he teased.
You shrieked and whacked him in response.
"Seriously, I love you just the way you are. You're gorgeous in my eyes and that's all that matters," Gojo mumbled, head lying above yours.
Gojo's voice then took on a more lethal edge.
"Or do we have to start this ritual of worshipping you every night?"
warnings: very slight angst, coming to terms with death
(842 words, angst/fluff)
You lifted your sunglasses to your face, shielding your face from the blazing sun on the beach.
Kento Nanami was a solemn man.
You'd watched as he bade farewell to the sorcerer life in favour of an average businessman's, just to come back in a half-hearted attempt to find some meaning in life.
After all, as aloof as he seemed, you knew that he merely set boundaries between sentimentalism and his dangerous job as a Jujutsu sorcerer. Despite knowing death would always be ready to flirt with him, the inklings of appreciation that Nanami got from saving people's lives propelled him forward, and made him choose to continue risking his life. All because Nanami desired to leave a significant impact behind.
Sinking your feet deep into the grainy sand, you stood up to take a stroll.
Kento Nanami was your colleague, though the way he treated you and Gojo Satoru was as similar as day and night. Nanami reserved a sharp tongue especially for the latter, but with you he acted more gentle.
It was subtle, the way he would check in on you without fail after missions, eyebrows furrowing if you were injured. Nanami would try to steer you away from Gojo's antics and sighed in irritation whenever he failed, which was often. If you conversed with him and laughed, he'd turn to you with the corners of his mouth ever so slightly upturned.
At times, he'd even remove his glasses and you would witness the way his eyes stared at you. There was no irritation, only something akin to fondness. Nanami's face was sculpted by sharp lines and angles, yet you marveled at how soft his expressions could be for you.
You'd looked up to Nanami and respected him for his beliefs. During the four years when he worked as a salaryman, you kept in contact with each other. Before his first day at work, you met Nanami in a café and gave him his signature leopard print tie. Once after a particularly grueling mission, you'd called to confide in him. Nanami showed up at your door 30 minutes later with your favourite cake in hand. It was moments like this that warmed your heart whenever you thought of him.
Your toes dipped into the crystal-clear seawater, the iciness of it stinging you.
"Nanami-san, if you could do anything you wanted in the world, what would it be?" you once questioned him.
"I'd like to take some time off and visit a nice beach overseas just to relax, perhaps Kuantan in Malaysia?" Nanami smiled at you.
You remember laughing at his simple wish and ruffled his blonde locks, messing up his neatly parted style. To your surprise, he didn't lecture you sternly for it.
In a sense, Nanami had never expressed his feelings for you verbally, but his fondness more than shone through his actions. The two of you kept a mutually respectful relationship that was more than colleagues, but it never blossomed into something more, perhaps out of fear of what the future would hold.
The things we hold dear to us are only precious because of the dread that they will one devastating day be snatched away from us, ensnared in fate's cruel hands.
Reality always caught up to you.
Itadori Yuji had told you about the events leading up to his death. Even after half of his body was burnt alive, he still went to rescue Itadori and faced off against too many curses. You had despaired at the thought of Mahito blasting him into pieces.
You couldn't bear to accept a reality without him.
In the midst of a November night, there was naught of the warmth where Nanami's hand once was. There was tempestuous wind where grass stood, and cold rain that battered upon the sweet roses. In the absence of hope, your silence rang out loud.
The forlorn nights tossing and turning in your bed had you wishing for nothing more than to hear Nanami's deep voice again.
There is no balm for a broken heart.
After Nanami's death, everything felt like a fever dream. You only hoped for peace as time licked pathetically at your wounds. It would always sting, but you chose to let it remind you of the man who meant so much to you and experience life in his stead. You would suffer hardships for Nanami, who was no longer here to do so. Perhaps the ghost of his embrace would comfort you in delirious slumbers.
Even now as you sipped on coconut water on the beach, you could hear his calm voice as he stretched by the waves. Picture it. That indifferent tone would hide a serene contentment. Nanami would relish the salty sea breeze as he read a book from his ever-growing pile, snapping it shut every once in a while only to frown and remind you to reapply sunscreen before swimming.
Kuantan, Malaysia was it?
It was rather nice. You suppose you had to enjoy it for Kento Nanami's sake, even if he had left your side.
After that incident with James, you were careful to not catch his attention for quite a while after.
Unfortunately, luck would have it that your parents started to notice your lack of usage of your mobile phone.
"It's good to see you using less of your phone recently," your mother commented.
"Of course mother," you mumbled.
"Speaking of which, you should definitely bring your phone for pictures on our outing this weekend."
You tensed up. Your parents had no idea that your phone got destroyed months ago. Knowing that you had saved up so long for it, you would get reprimanded severely for such carelessness.
"I took it to the shop to get fixed. It'll take a while," you hurriedly fibbed.
"Well alright just don't forget to bring your phone this Saturday," your mother said. "I didn't know that there were issues already with your new phone."
Safe to say, you steered the conversation away from any subjects concerning your phone.
You cursed James Lee who was in front of you yet again in class as you remembered this incident. You'd had to tell your parents that the shop was taking longer than expected hence the reason why you couldn't bring your phone that weekend. But sooner or later, they'd get suspicious. You couldn't keep the lies going for much longer.
The problem was that you had barely saved up half the money needed to buy another phone. There was no way you had enough time.
You stared at the redhead while agonising over what to do.
Unless...
A certain someone was nice enough to repay you for grinding your phone to pieces. You berated yourself as soon as the thought entered your head. The less you interacted with him, the better. James was to say the least, dangerous.
But you couldnt steal money nor borrow thousands from your friends. Nobody would be obligated to lend you so much money except for...
You closed your eyes and massaged your temples. You had no choice unless you wanted your parents to find out your phone was gone and you had skipped school that day months ago. Your recent test scores wouldn't help either.
Fine then. You hadn't given James any reason to be wary of you lately. You wouldn't even talk to him too. You'd just give him a note.
When school ended, you dropped a note on James' table as you walked past him.
"To James,
I'm not sure if you remember, but you broke my phone on that day months ago. I really need a new one so could you please repay me? If you can't afford the full price then half would be more than enough. Or however much you could give. Just not 1 cent please.
Thanks! :)
y/n"
You'd even drawn a smiley face to be friendly. Now all there was left to do was pray that the delinquent was more generous than he looked.
Days passed, and James never gave any acknowledgement of the note you'd sent him.
"Has he even read it?" you regretted not watching him open the note itself. "Plan B, fail. Now what do I do..."
You got back home feeling extremely uneasy. While eating, your parents talked about your phone again.
"The shop still hasn't repaired your phone? I think we better go pay them a visit as a reminder," your father frowned. "It's been 2 weeks."
"No need!" you replied.
"Then where is your phone? Come to think of it, I haven't seen it around in ages."
Your mind flipped through many possible excuses but it was hard to be rational while your parents were staring at you expectantly. Why were they this sharp?
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
"I'll go get it! Enjoy your meals meanwhile," you jolted up and walked outside.
Opening the door, you were greeted by that familiar face with sharp eyes and a wild expression.
James Lee was at your doorstep?
You blinked once. Twice. He was still there. Not a dream.
"What are you doing her- Nevermind that, how do you know my address?" you pushed him outside, away from your parents.
"This," James dropped a rectangular box in your hands. No way, it was a new phone that was the same model as your old one. You wondered how he remembered it.
James' eyes glinted in amusement at your reaction.
In that moment, you were so overjoyed at him showing up at the perfect timing and rescuing you that you wanted to hug him.
You did open your arms and try to but caught sight of his warning expression. You opted for a smile and thanks instead.
Maybe James wasn't so bad after all.
"And just so you know, I could come here anytime if your mouth decides to let slip things it shouldn't."
Your face contorted and you felt hopeless. At this rate you'd be at the bottom half of the class, and to think you had hopes of being in the top 15 in the year.
"Eugene comes in 2nd place with 98 marks."
"And the highest marks for the end-of-year examination is...James Lee with a perfect score," said the teacher.
Cue all the unsurprised expressions of everyone including you. You had expected nothing less.
It left a twinge in your heart, the bitter feeling of guilt and self-loathing rearing its ugly head. Once again, you'd left studying to the last minute.
You were a sore loser. If that wasn't bad enough, you were competitive yet lacked the steely determination needed. You studied, sure but not enough.
You thought your above average intelligence would be enough. But you weren't a genius who could afford to be self confident.
You were...just another nobody thinking they had the potential to be somebody.
"How depressing, a sore loser feeling sorry for herself," you thought ironically.
You gazed at the redhead in front of you. James Lee looked as unperturbed as ever. His nonchalant demeanor never broke as the teacher handed him his paper and he walked back towards his seat, your eyes meeting for a brief moment.
James Lee was an enigma. Certainly, anyone could tell he was a genius. It was infuriating how perfect he was. But barely a handful of people knew how he actually was like. James came and went, half the time he wasn't even in the classroom.
Maybe you should follow him sometime to wherever it was that he went.
Even if he was in class, he would be silently doing whatever he fancied, never interested in participating. The teachers let it slide as those medals and prizes that he won could choke an Arabian prince.
Personally, you found him interesting. Someone so mysterious usually had secrets of their own. People joked that he was involved in street fighting but you doubted that. However, you had to admit that he was definitely experienced in self defence. Those muscles and the way he carried himself screamed the vibes of a martial artist. A gangster though? At 17?
Doubtful for a top scholar like him. He probably just found lessons too boring and went off to interent cafes or something.
But today you felt miserable, and a considerable portion of the irritation was directed towards him.
It was funny how unfair it was that a genius like him didn't have to lift a finger and still be leagues ahead of everyone.
Right at that moment, James stood up and strolled out of the classrooms back door.
"Is this bastard skipping class now after coming to hear that he was top 1 again?" your eye twitched in anger.
Screw this. There was no point in staying here to listen to the teacher ramble on. You were going to follow James Lee to see where it was exactly that he disappeared to.
You whispered to Zoe Park to help collect your bag after class. Holding your stomach, you walked up to the teacher.
"Miss, my stomach hurts too much I need to go rest for abit and maybe go home.
The moment the classroom's door shut you took off. You could vaguely see red hair near the schools gates and ran there. Always keeping a distance of 30m, you followed James.
The two of you walked for a while, making turns here and there. He stopped right in front of a narrow alley and vanished.
"Where'd he go?" you were puzzled until you saw the lit entrance of an Internet cafe. You sneaked up to the door and pushed it.
It was locked. You saw a shadow creep behind you.
"Oops. Alertalertalert." was all you thought as you turned around. Something was pointed at you.
"A...lollipop?" your eyes met James' raised ones.
"Following me? Didn't know you were an admirer," he sneered, putting the lollipop back in his mouth. His cheek bulged.
You spluttered in embarrassment and laughed mockingly.
"I don't like cocky buggers who think that theyre all the shit with their dyed hair."
"Then why'd you follow me?" James deadpanned.
"I wanted to know how the famous genius spent his precious time."
"Whatever it is, don't go poking your nose into my business," he scoffed.
"Or you might regret it." His tone visibly darkened.
Suddenly, you heard footsteps. A group of thugs appeared and interrupted your delightful conversation with James.
"You were the one who made a fool out of our gang. We have a score to settle kid," the leader stepped closer menacingly.
A glance revealed lots of weapons and tattoos on those thugs. So the rumours were true. It would be ideal if you didn't stay for amicable chitchat. You could see an opening on the other side. You'd make a break for it while the thugs were preoccupied with James and get help.
While you were planning an escape, James walked towards the gangsters with his hand in his pocket. Lollipop still in his mouth, he looked at the thugs expressionlessly.
"Who was your boss again?"
That set the thugs off. The leader pulled out a knife and rushed towards James, the others following suit.
"TIME TO GO!" you thought as you lunged towards the alley's opposite exit. You ran so fast that you pulled a muscle but god knew that if you were caught trouble would only befall upon you. So you ran and didn't look back.
You reached the opening and glanced to see if any of the thugs were after you. To your shock, you saw bloodied bodies on the ground. The thugs got beaten up by only one person. James.
Speaking of the devil, you caught sight of red hair charging towards you. His speed was almost too fast to even comprehend. Cursing, you knew you wouldnt be able to get to the shops far away in time and there were no strangers around to help.
Stumbling out into the road, you whipped out your phone and brandished it.
"I'm livestreaming right now. If you dare touch me there will be evidence online," you threatened. It was a lie but he didn't have to know that.
James just plucked your phone, proceeding to it beneath his foot.
You had worked for 6 months to afford that latest model. Enraged, you yanked on his hair and screamed.
Sighing in annoyance, he slapped his hand over your mouth and peered down at you.
"I'll be the one doing the threatening here. If you ever tell a living soul about what you saw, well," he smiled, those fangs of his flashing.
"What happened to those disappointments back there will only be a demonstration of what will happen to you."
You had to reassure him right this second.
"Why would I? I've no proof, nobody would believe me," you scoffed and gave him a thumbs up.
James stared at you piercingly for a few seconds. Determined to prove your trustworthiness, you stared right back.
It seemed to work. James turned around and walked off. You breathed a sigh in relief until you heard what he said.
Those notes struck in her something she had long since last felt. She faltered. A wave of nostalgic melancholy surged up in her. That piano piece. Could it be? Those notes repeated itselves again as a wordless reply. She stood there transfixed, as the notes begun to hasten its pace, calling out to her. Like flowing water on moonlight pebbles, the music embraced her in a comforting hug. A sense of serenity stroked her heart yet it constricted and her eyes started to sour.
The notes grew louder and faster. They mocked her like an old friend, daring her to relive the past which haunted her so. She gritted her teeth in desperation. The corners of her lips tugged down. There were too many memories, replaying one after another like an unwanted record. All this while, the music had a tinge of longing to it.
The pianist reached the climax of the piece. Urgency. The melodies soared in urgency. The emotions were overwhelming. She could amost taste the wet midnight air and smell the damp grass.
"Stop it!" the voices in her head wailed but she couldn't bring herself to walk away from it all. She never could. She merely shut her eyes stubbornly like a child in denial. Perhaps it was guilt, maybe even regret for what they used to be and could have been. There was solace she found in the past but even more so, her heart ached for the future that should have been. With him.
As the music lulled, it transported her back to that one fateful day. Him. A stranger she used to know; someone she once held too close yet now impossibly distant. The notes started to slur and she stirred from her trance. Tears streamed freely down her face, but she made no effort to wipe them away.
It was a painful reminder of the past, of the happiness that they shared. All that remained of it were the memories brought on by this piano piece. She dropped a coin in the pianist's jar and walked away. Away from the music which faded in the background, yet the calm despair within her never left.
The first time you'd ever met Goo Kim was during his showdown of Vasco's bullies in middle school.
You'd witnessed the gruesome one-sided fight break out, and tried to help Vasco but got deterred by the bullies' thereatening stares. Instead, you ran off to get the teacher, and when the two of you came back, you were greeted with the sight of a bloody mess. A boy with blonde hair stood in front of the door and grinned manically at you as the 3 bullies cowered before him. One had even peed his pants.
"Hellooooo."
You distinctly remember how you had gaped like a goldfish at him. To think someone who looked so carefree could cause such violence, and with such ease too. You were in awe of the delinquent.
Quite a few years passed, you'd long forgotten about him. Until you saw that mop of blonde hair again. Having taken an interest in business management, you were firm friends with Crystal Choi and regularly hung out with her. Once, you accompanied her to her father's headquarters, paying a visit. Crystal's bodyguard, Gun was by her side in her father's office while you all waited.
Suddenly, a whiny voice filled the room. A man with blonde hair wearing a suit with the coat undone strolled in pouting.
"Old man, you owe me a nice fat bonus. Geez! Do you know how much trouble I had to go through to-"
"You moron. I keep telling you, knock before entering," muttered a frowning Gun.
"My, my! Who's this with Crystal Choi?" he singsonged, completely ignoring his colleague.
"...A friend," Crystal sighed.
That voice and way of talking like someone was high had felt familiar. Now, coupled with the blonde hair, something clicked in your mind. He was the delinquent back then who beat up the bullies effortlessy without getting a single scratch.
"It's you. The one who beat up the seniors." You stared at him. This certainly was interesting.
"Sweetheart, I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific. I've beaten up more people than pushups that I've done," he cackled.
"My name's Goo Kim, the pleasure's all yours," smiled Goo, extending a hand. He tilted his head, and the light reflected off his glasses, making his grin look sinister.
He hadn't changed. If anything, he seemed more unhinged now along with the power he posessed.
A brief pause.
"I'm y/n," you exhaled.
Since then, you learned that there was no such thing as escaping a tornado once you crossed its path.
Goo often dropped by whenever you were by the headquarters helping Crystal with her company. He would barge in on you two and Crystal soon grew tired of this. It could be to hand in reports, give updates, or to find Gun if he was there. Whatever the reason was, he never failed to ramble on about anything to no one in particular. Perhaps it was because Crystal was already used to Goo's tactics, but he singled you out, loudly chattering in your ear. It gave you a headache.
Goo seemed to not have a serious bone in his body. He would constantly crack jokes at the most inoppurtune of times, and found joy in annoying others, especially Gun. Fights between the two wers a common sight. Unfortunately, you were not spared from the humiliation of being the subject of his mockery. The familiar feeling of dread filled you everytime you heard those footsteps of his followed by his chirpy voice. Yet another torture session incoming.
At times, you wanted to strangle Goo to death and during others you had to hold back your smiles from laughing at his corny words. Only when they weren't directed at you though.
"Sweetheart, I can see you smile! You find me funny, admit it."
"No, I find it funny how childish your jokes are. They're so bad that they're almost good."
In short, Goo was a handful and impossible to subdue.
That was what you thought until you saw him become serious for the first time when he held a sword in combat.
Goo was so flippant majority of the time that you forgot he had an ominous side to him. The moment he picked up the sword, Goo was exponentially even more intimidating. You could merely watch dumbstruck as he obliterated piles of enemies, swishing the sword like it was part of his hand. That precise strength of his, just watching took your breath away. Even a person with nonexistent fighting skills like you knew that for such wonder someone had to borned with it. No amount of training without talent would produce such results. Goo then turned towards you and saw your startled expression from all the bloodshed.
"Ah. Just another day in my life. Nothing to see here," he shrugged.
There it was again. That damned smile of his, with a hint of arrogance. The bastard knew he was undeniably strong (kinda hot tho-).
The second time you saw him get serious, was when you snapped at him after listening to his obnoxious whining one too many times. It had been a hard few months, and the stress took its toll on you. At that time, foolish you got tangled up with a loan shark agency and they were after you. To say the least, you were in a tight spot.
"And that kid Daniel Park had the guts to claim that he was Gun's successor! I mean, does he think I'm stupid or something?"
"Goo, do you ever shut up?" you scowled moodily in a tone you rarely used.
He turned to look at you. It was then he noticed how your eye circles seemed to be darker and you had an defeated air about you. You might have lost some weight as well, too. Something was up. Goo had never seen you so exhausted.
"What on earth happened to you? You look like you got run over by a truck," he deadpanned, with his mouth in a firm line and hands shoved into his pockets.
"Nothing," you snapped which prompted a raise of his eyebrows.
"Ya know, I'm a debt collector and that's an expression I see pretty often. Especially when they don't have the money to cough up," Goo stated.
"Did you think I wouldn't notice the way you've been so uptight about money recently?" his eyes narrowed.
Well shoot. He was observant.
You closed your eyes and sighed, about to open your mouth to talk when you were interrupted by the sound of something being set on the table.
You glanced down and saw a card. Goo's card.
"Take it, and stop looking so worried. You're dirt poor compared to me."
"Now, as I was saying..."
Somehow down the line, your feelings of annoyance whenever the two of you interacted morphed into tolerance, then slowly evolved into grudging amusement. At first, you were mortified to find out that whenever you caught sight of the blonde, your heart thumped just that little bit harder. Over time, you grew to accept that perhaps your endearment towards Goo may not be just a passing crush. Reluctant one-word replies turned into snippy remarks which always lead to a banter.
You knew that the chances of him reciprocating your feelings were slim, really. You were aware of the sadistic and greedy man Goo was. To him, love was just another one of those things only sappy people wasted their time on.
You never intended for Goo to find out about your feelings for him so soon. It was purely an accident.
One day, you, Crystal, Gun and Goo were out relaxing at a bar. You'd gotten tipsy after a few drinks and felt a comfortable buzz. Crystal had pulled Gun away after a while and smiled knowingly at you.
"I just realised that I have yet to prepare for tomorrow's meeting. I'll get going now and Gun needs to guard me, so Goo can drop you off, is that fine?" Crystal asked.
"Sure, he can pay for my drinks too while he's at it," you muttered.
"Excuse me?" he piped up offendedly. "Use your own money."
"I suppose you need the money for your hair treatment. You'll turn bald before 30 if you don't stop bleaching it."
"Hey!"
A few drinks later, you'd truly let go of any remaining inhibitions. Perhaps drunk you saw an oppurtunity to release any feelings bottled up and blame it on the alcohol later. After all, it was the only way you could confess without being embarrassed.
"Hey Goo."
"What."
"W-What if I tell you that I like you more than I should? In a way that I don't feel for almost everyone."
"You really shouldn't ask questions like that so casually, you might cause a misunderstanding," said Goo with a cheeky smile.
Having had enough of his games, you grew frustrated. He wasn't stupid.
"I'm being more serious than you ever have been in your pathetic life, you sod. I like you," you blurted out.
The atmosphere instantly became heavier, and you felt too intoxicated. Was each mouthful of air always this hard to breath in? You couldn't meet the gaze that was currently directed at you, afraid of what you'd see in his eyes.
This was a horrible idea.
"Time to go," you thought before passing out.
Goo watched your unconscious form unsmilingly. Guess you weren't in any condition to talk properly until tomorrow.
"...Huh."
When you got over your hangover the next day, you were incessantly reminded of what you'd said to Goo the night before. Much to your chagrin, he kept pressing you for the truth.
"Answer me, was what you said true? I know you still remember."
That was the 10th time he'd asked that in 10 minutes.
Finally, you groaned and screamed.
"Yes!"
He looked solemm for a second. Your face felt hot. You had never wanted to fly away so much in that moment filled with tension.
Then, Goo smirked like the jerk he was.
"Guess what, I like you pretty much too! Today's your lucky day! I accept your confession," he said while patting your head condescendingly before suddenly pecking you.
You were stunned. Did your ears deceive you?
"Honeybear, are you sure you want to do this? Last chance. I'm not your average loser," Goo teased playfully, knowing that that wasn't something you didn't know.
That was fine. You had more than enough sanity to make up for this man who had a few loose screws. Your man. Goo.
Author's note: Alrighttt! First ever published work of mine. I have read pretty much nearly all the ffs on here (pls there's a shortage of DG, Jihan, Hangyeol, and Goo fics) so I decided to contribute, as well polish my writing skills. Feel free to drop any requests to get my creative juices flowing (I can try to write for any character). Until next time~
