Finally making one of these
On Saturday I said to my partner, as I have said for months, "A ten thousand dollar a year raise would solve so many of my problems."
As of this morning I was reluctantly looking for jobs because I love my job and don't want to leave it, but see: $10k raise problem solver.
As of noon today this was no longer an issue, because my boss called me with the news that I was getting a $10K merit raise.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is roughly $200 extra per paycheck. Enough to pay off debt faster, rebuild my savings, and spend a weekend a month in Milwaukee getting obscenely laid. The sex I'm going to have on $200 extra per paycheck. You can't even.
May all of you get the $10K raise your soul has yearned for. And whatever level of sex you can be satisfied with for $200.
hey bestie i think ur post might be charmed 'cause you aren't gonna fuckin believe what happened today
adding my energy to this since i recently got a new job with a similar increase in annual salary
[very clearly indulging the urge] im fighting the urge
i think people are starting to confuse class analysis with bioessentialism. like... no not all men do this, but Men as a constructed social class do do this. that's still okay to say. that is regular material analysis of the world around us.
i don’t think ive ever really seen anyone talk about this scene. its so dear to me but also pains me so much. like you can really hear the hurt in his voice, he was waiting for ian

happy solstice :) . Here are some suns I’ve drawn over the years
Happy solstice! Here’s another batch of suns of various media
#myshane couldn’t give less of a fuck about queer culture he just likes dick in his ass and he loves a Man. If you asked him about Stonewall he’d think it was the name of a tech startup.
#myilya is a fag and he loves it. him and harris watch queer movies once a month with Harris’ mom and they drink margaritas with little umbrellas in them.
No fucking way in hell white queers think being culturally queer means drinking gay margaritas and knowing about stonewall.
What's with coming up with headcanons that
1) completely contradicts the text (Shane famously finding the trans athelete in his camp inspiring, Shane finding Fabian attractive, Shane wearing his hair long, Shane saying he needs to spend more time with queer people, and Shane joining the gay avengers at the end of TLG), and
2) Takes away the complexity of the only character of color in this headcanon to GIVE MORE COMPLEXITY TO THE WHITE CHARACTER
Ilya's extent of involvement with the queer community is: having a freaky gaydar, 2 friends who are gay (one of which was homophobic until 2 seconds ago), Scott and Kip who Shane also knows and talks to, coach Wiebe whose bisexuality was discussed once and then never again, and the possibility that Luca Haas may be a little bisexual with it.
People thinking "gay not queer" is the extent to which you engage in seemingly queer activities, when in actuality, you can be the femmest bitchiest gay and still not be queer. This feels like unnecessary overcompensation for the lack of queer community Shane had, which I (hot take) believe is because Rachel doesn't actually know how to write queer community engagement and activity, but also because for most of TLG Shane simply couldn't afford/wasn't allowed to interact with openly queer people.
All this to say, we're offering Watsonian answers to a Doylian problem, and we need to stop somehow manufacturing a gap between white queers and queers of color (yes, even in fiction) immediately right this instant.
Immense gratitude
What's a lil sketch in class amirite??

I can tell my evil advisor has been feeling down lately so I've been pretending to take big sips from his cursed chalice and then roaming the palace grounds groaning and clutching my abdomen. Lowkey I know it's deceptive but I can tell it's really cheering him up. I heard him evilly cackle for the first time in weeks. WIBTA if I keep doing this
I lied actually and I am going to talk about this clip.
Even with the most gracious interpretation (as in not assuming Rachel was saying Connor is the eloquent one), it’s still weird that after all that’s happen, after what both Rachel and Jacob have been made aware of, that they still engage in these types of “jokes” on such a public stage. If that the dynamic they have with Hudson, then they should keep it between them, not say them here when Hudson isn’t even present. It’s odd that Jacob’s first response is to say Hudson’s question needs work without even hearing what it was. The question wasn’t even read out loud before he decided that Hudson had nothing of worth to say. Again, maybe this is just their dynamic, but Jacob and Rachel, read the fucking room. “Classy”, “eloquent”, etc are now all racist dogwhistles that’s been used against Hudson to belittle him, undermine his intelligence, and dismiss just how seriously he takes his craft. Out of all the interviews we’ve gotten from the cast, his has been the most thoughtful, considerate, and so full of nuance. His question was a perfectly fine question. More than fine because you have people who also work in TV remarking that it’s an accurate description of how adaption works. Also, Rachel, exactly why is AAVE being considered as a lack of eloquence? God. These two frustrate me so much and I actually do hate that Hudson has to continue working with them. Call it being a parasocial boy mom, I don’t care, I will never assume it’s safe for a BIPOC person to be the only one in a space full of white people.
I’m glad myself and other Hudson fans aren’t the only ones who see how odd this all lands. More and more people are taking note. Jacob and Rachel need some kind of crash course or something on how to speak about their only POC lead because it honestly gets to a point.
Speaking about Hudson in this way would seem less micro aggressive if they kept the same tune for Connor but they never do. We’ve seen both Hudson and Connor be silly and “chaos monsters”, and we’ve seen them both be serious, yet only one always gets the chaos label while the other one doesn’t.
