I wanna know how many lighting cues there are in the entirety of the Great Comet
Around 1,950 before curtain call! (From this interview with lighting designer Bradley King)
There’s always one song in every musical you listen to that you really want to/wanted to see the staging of than any other part of the show
Journey to the Past With a First Look of Christy Altomare as Anastasia on Broadway

“your swagger, and your bearing, and the just right clothes you’re wearing, your short hair, and your dungarees, and your lace-up boots and your keys, ohhh, your ring of keys!“
I have no idea who this actor is, but I’m just going to say that he definitely captures that whole “ludicrously pretty and young” vibe book!Enjolras has better than literally any other actor I’ve seen pictures of in the role of any race
one day theyll probably make a historical musical about the emperors of the roman empire and youre all going to start stanning them. yr all gonna post about how proud you are that your smoll cinammon roll son Nero burned Rome to the ground
Can I request original broadway cast recordings at the club?
Favorite Picture of Aaron Tveit: 42/100
I loved Aaron and Laura at Elsie Fest!!!
I have two auditions coming up for two different theatres and I'm wondering if I should let them know that I'm auditioning for the other show. I don't want them to think that their show doesn't matter to me...but I also don't want to depend on getting into just one show. Advice?
Nope, no need to say anything to them! It’s not expected when you audition at a theatre that you aren’t looking at any other gigs.
Playbills (and more!) for SALE! If you are interested in purchasing and of these, send me a message to work out buying!
If you have any questions about which casts/years/signatures feel free to message me
someone: I don't like RENT
me: RENT was inspired by the struggle of those living with AIDS, many that Larson knew personally and even included them in the show (see: Life Support). The song "Will I" came from a meeting at the support group Friends in Deed where Larson was attending with his best friend who had just been diagnosed with AIDS himself. Throughout the making of his show, five of his closest friends died from the disease; they're credited in Life Support. The poverty seen in the show was an accurate representation of Greenwich Village, where Larson lived; there were extension cords out of the windows so that people could have power. He wore the same pair of shoes for five years and worked at a diner for almost ten. He finally saw his dream of becoming a composer coming true after ten years of worry and failure (see: tick tick boom) and was interviewed only once for this show, the night before the opening of it Off-Off-Broadway. He went home and died that night and never got to see the show go to Broadway. His sister had to accept his Tony Awards. The show pulled people out of poverty like Idina Menzel, who was performing at weddings and bars to survive and losing most of her profit. The show redefined the meaning of the term rock musical and has impacted musical theater greatly (see Next To Normal). It was one of the eight musicals ever to win a Pulitzer Prize and won four Tony's. It is the modern adaptation of La Boheme, teaching people that groups of people throughout all of time can suffer and bond together, that the story of struggle and survival is timeless.
me: also la vie boheme
suffering from musical hang over is so hard i swear people in this house keep bursting into song 24/7
