Adhd Adventures #17
I was watching this video on YouTube
And I decided to give the app Habitica a try. Iāve only been using it for one day, but so far itās working pretty good.
Iām thinking of starting a party of us Adhd Adventurers.
We need a party name, so feel free suggest some.
Let me know if you are interested in joining, and I will let you know when itās up and running!

Sorry guys, there was some technical difficulty with the party and it went down for awhile. I didn't realize this, and once I did, it was difficult to find time to fix it. I'm starting it back up now however!
is it possible to have both ocd and adhd/add? there's no way for me to get diagnosed rn so I'm trying to minimalize the symptoms I experience on my own, but I'm not sure if it's a mental issue and I really have a disorder or if I'm just lazy?
It is absolutely possible to have both conditions at once. In fact, comorbid disorders are quite common, nearly half of people with ADHD have one!
I get what itās like to go undiagnosed for a long time. I donāt know you, so I canāt really speak on your work ethic, but youāre trying your best to work with what you have and thatās very good!
You may also be able to access some mental health supports for free. Your school might have a counselor you could talk to. If you live near a college or university, kidshealth.org says,Ā āIf a college in your area offers graduate degrees in psychology or social work, the students might run free or low-cost clinics as part of their training.ā Keep your eyes open for any opportunity you can!
I hope this helped, keep hanging in there! Youāve got this!

Hey I just wanted to share this. I have been diagnosed with adhd since preschool, and for the past couple of years I have been of the meds. I never took aderal, I took concerta. I feel so much more happier since I have been off it, and Iāve been teaching my self tips to focus in school and all, but itās been hard. Teachers who think Iām lazy, friends who thought I was annoying, and teachers who think Iām a problem child. Iām glad thereās blogs like yours, I donāt feel alone!
Awwww, thank you so much! Iām so glad that you found the treatment that is right for you!
Youāre never alone, keep on keeping on!

Me: Hey October is ADHD awareness month! Maybe I should get a cool ADHD positive button to put on my backpack
90% of the buttons I found on google: āoh look a squirrelā ātalk to me about my- oh look shinyā āADHD means never having to say youāre bored lolā
Me:ā¦K never mind then
For those who donāt know we actually have an awareness ribbon. Itās orange.
Why was I told that it was purpleā¦#almost dyed my hair the wrong color
Did some research and found both are used purple and orange
Thank you!!
Talking about stuff is hard, finding a bunch of these bad boys was pretty easy
Thanks @disabilityuserboxes
(Ps. Abt the suicide one: no need to worry about me, Iām dealing with it, Iām fine.)

Merry and Pippin from Lord of the Rings have ADHD!
Hey I have a question- Im like 99 percent sure i have adhd, and all the tests and quizzes and the like all say I have a large chance of having it but my mom doesnt wanna get me checked out because "if I do get diagnosed it could prevent me from having certain jobs or careers". How do I tell her me getting diagnosed might help with school (something i struggle with)? How would i go about getting diagnosed?
Wow, thatās tricky! First of all, people with ADHD are just as capable of having successful careers as anyone else, they just might have to take a different road to get there. Maybe find some examples of people with ADHD who have successful careers and tell your mom about them. Also, depending on the laws where you live, if someone refuses to hire you because you have a disability, you could take them to court for discrimination!
You could try going to your school guidence councilor or a teacher you trust and explain your situation to them. Your mom might take it more seriously if itās coming from another adult who is an education professional.
A family doctor may also be able to do the same, as well as give you a referral to a psychiatrist or psychologist who could do the evaluation.
I hope this helps, good luck! If you have anymore questions donāt be afraid to ask!
Due to personal reasons this person is gonna be okay and knows they are gonna feel better tomorrow | requested by anon
ADHD Adventures #16
My First Co-morbid
So in order for my IEP to be valid in university next year, I had to get re-evaluated.
During this process we discovered that not only do I have ADHD combined type (knew that already) but ya girl also has Generalized Anxiety Dissorder.
Iāve known that something wasnāt right with my mental health for a long time, but I couldnāt get my parents to take me seriously, so it actually feels really good to finally know:
That Iām not crazy
Whatās actually going on with me
Protip for anyone who has trouble self starting the cleaning process: invite someone over.
Even though Iām not enough of self starter because of my executive dysfunctions to get things done on my own or for myself, I find that the thought of someone I care about seeing my mess is enough incentive to get going and make my bed, get the bathroom clean.
It aināt much, but it works for meā and, even if youāre battling depression or other mental illness, inviting someone over can help you feel more connnected to society anyway. Itās a win-win.
Iām not saying itās for everyone, but itās worth a shot. If nothing else, at least youāll have gotten up and gotten to see a friend.

@not-a-demonphannie yeah, the fact is true, but I thought it would be a fun April fools joke to put the wrong picture! My sister thinks they look alike so I wanted to try it out!
