Oh shit it me
trying to outgrow the deep shame and embarassment woven into my existence wbu
James Tate, Selected Poems
Have you ever thought that sometimes we label as depression what is actually healthy thought? Occasionally, I feel like it is the rest of the world that is sick, not me. Other people seem to need to lie to themselves in order to cope with reality, while I just accept it. Their sort of behavior seems to be labeled “optimism” or “positive thinking” (*gag*), while mine seems to be interpreted by some people as apathy or even pessimism. But I think that is the opposite of the truth, and it distresses and confuses me that people think that. Isn’t seeing reality for what it is, and still having hope for the world and wanting to live the most optimistic thing possible? I think I am very much an optimist, even a bit of an idealist.
Fake edit: I am not the only person who has thought of this - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Depressive_realism
It is a controversial idea, but it is quite interesting to know that other people have felt the way I do. I have always felt that, in some ways, I am healthy and the world is sick. Could it be that in the future I will be considered correct? What do you think?
This is so cringe
I was just a babby.
I like how addiction recovery has taught me to see having a bad day as an accomplishment, because if you get through it without getting fucked up, you have achieved something great.
This new bitch that’s in charge of the rehab center I go to is out of her damn mind. She is making me pick up trash on the side of the road because my room was messy and my toilet was slightly dusty. I have had enough. I am ready to move out. For months now I have had this constant feeling that they think I have done something wrong. They treat us as if we are criminals. Public shaming? For a dusty toilet? I though I had a sickness. That’s what they told us on my first day: “You have a bwain disease poow wittle babies!!” But I have apparently done something shameful? I feel like I am in jail here.
It’s undignified. I feel like it would be morally wrong for me to accept this “punishment” (in quotes because I did nothing to deserve it). It would be disrespectful to myself. I told this cunt my concerns and she spoke to me as if I was a child. Fuck her and fuck this place, I am ready to move on. I feel stable and feel excited about taking control of my own recovery.
From my other blog
I feel separate from my own mind. As if my brain is not me. It does what it feels like, without my permission.
It just
wanders
Wherever.
I’ve decided to watch it like I watch the world with my soul.
It is my entertainment and my creativity - I like my brain.
Today I was strolling, when I heard what I thought was a car. I stopped at the curb to look and see, but found it was just a wise old tree, dancing in the wind. It whispered to me, I halted and faced it, to see what it had to say. “It will be ok,” it told me. “There is great peace and joy ahead of you.” Then, its friends started shouting in unison, “Yes! Yes! It’s ok! Continue on, for we know the Truth. We will always be here to guide you and accompany you. You can never be alone.” “Thank you,” I whispered back to them as I went on my way.
Holy shit. Dont do drugs, kids lmfao.
Anyone: Hey, do you have a minute? I need to talk to you.
Me, internally:
Creating a Day Worth Living
1. Get up early
2. Develop an attitude of gratitude
3. Invest in what matters
4. Have fun
5. Do something for others
6. Get out in the sun
7. Exercise – at least a little
8. Try something new
9. Don’t be afraid to take chances
10. Look for the humor in life.
Did I actually sleep...through the night?? For eight hours???
