For dinner tonight I thought why not go with a stick to your bones meal. When you think stick to your bones there are a couple meals that come to mind and my favorite stick to your bones meal is well… RIBS!!!! I’m going to share with you how I make these delicious, mouth watering ribs that my family loves.
What you will need:
I use country style ribs due to the fact that I just distaste bones. Plus they seem to go farther with the numbers.
I rub the awesome mix all over the ribs first. This rub is very tasteful and adds a huge amount of flavor to anything that you decide to put it on. This is one spice I never run out of in my house.
Make sure that you coat the ribs with the sweet & smoky rub. As you can see I do not smother it on the meat, but I do coat it well and make sure I do all sides as well as the ends of the meat. You don’t want this flavor to be the most dominate in the finished product.
My favorite sauce for this recipe.
Cover, but don’t drown them
I love this BBQ sauce for any recipe that you make in the crock-pot. It makes a great ingredient on the grounds that is a thicker sauce and doesn’t break down as quick. You want a sauce that will not become to watery or will not burn when cooked for a long period of time. I use this flavor for the fact that when I think ribs, I think of meat that has been smoked for hours. You want to make sure that you cover the ribs with the BBQ sauce, but it’s not recommended that you over do it.
Depending on how long you have to cook your meal will dictate on what you should cook them on and how. I ultimately cook mine in the crock-pot on low for 9 hours on most occasions, but for days like today that I get started later in the day I will cook them on high for 6 hours. This is a meal you will want to throw in on your way out the door or early in the day before you start your errands.
With this meal you really only need to take 20 minutes after work or when everyone gets home to put the sides together for you full meal. You can use whatever sides you want that your family will enjoy. I generally only do two sides, but today I’m going to do three.
My 3 sides:
Each sides takes about 10 minutes to boil the water and roughly 10 minutes for the mac-n-cheese and corn on the cob to be done. I hope that you and your family enjoy this meal. It will for sure have them asking for more.
Please feel free to let me know what you think, also if you make any changes let me know how it works out.
From my house to yours have a great evening full of amazing memories.
