it's fun when you rewatch a movie that you watched a bunch of times when you were young, only to realize the version you had was some director's cut or extended edition and the theatrical version didn't even HAVE the part where the deep sea aliens threatened to kill all of humanity with tsunamis if we didn't stop threatening each other with nuclear war. which was kind of, if I recall correctly from when I was 15, the point of the entire movie.

Leverage Redemption 2x08 - The Turkish Prisoner Job

i have been rewatching redemption and this moment just stands out to me in the best way. the camera stays on him for like 4 seconds while his eyes are shut and while Breanna and Parker are talking together.

the first two seconds he's breathing out through his mouth, with fidgety hands and a furrowed brow, trying to settle. he seems to slow and relax a little bit in the final second, right before the marks arrive and he's interrupted from whatever this is. meditation? nerves? rehearsing his role for the con? angsting over something totally disconnected from the job and trying to find a moment of peace? headache because of being punched in the face a bazillions times in his career?? the walk in the woods and fractured job were one episode away from this episode (the big rig is inbetween), so it feels right that this little moment is shown here, shortly after those.

I just love how completely normal and somehow private this moment feels, both at the same time. we so rarely see Eliot with his guard down, so somehow it feels like a privilege.

i love how completely contextless and random this question is by the way. don't get me wrong though, come at me with your sudden whump questions, i am here for it!! I believe he came out of his coma in ep 10 ("what god wants") but not sure when he went in?? speed-watch the eps just before that i guess. my bet is on episode 7 or 8.
