i’m reading my first booktok-esque book (you know the ones with the cartoon straight couple on them) and it’s just…not good.

each chapter is either the female character or male character POV and each one is just a variation of these sentences:

“i can’t tell him how i really feel! he’s my brother’s best friend! and my boss! besides, he’ll never be interested in me, a 5 foot, small boob, beautiful but in a way i don’t realize, woman!

or

“if it were possible to die from blue balls, i’d be deceased by now (this is an actual sentence from the book unfortunately) i can’t act on my manly urges. she’s my best friends sister! and im her boss!”

are they all like this or did i just pick a particularly bad one??
