Paprika(Horrotale Papyrus)- He’s humming softly as he plays with Maura’s soft hair, it was something he enjoyed to do at the end of the day when the two were cuddled up together, she was laying on him, a large blanket covering the two of them. Maura was using his chest as a pillow of sorts, which made him worry if it was too uncomfortable for his dearest, he wanted her to be absolutely comfy, after all! A light sigh escaped him, he was content with how things were, and it seemed that nothing could get better then this. 

“Hun.” Maura hummed in a drowsy state, awe, she was being lulled to sleep, his precious datemate was adorable.

“Yes, dearest?” he questioned softly, continuing to play with her soft hair, it was so comforting to him to do these things, it just made his heart flutter.

“We should go to the beach tomorrow. I wanna show Ecola State Park.” she was dozing off at this point, her words slightly slurred, her eyes fluttering shut as her breathes were eased, a light smile on her face as she did so. She was so precious, oh my god. Looks like they’ll have a wonderful date tomorrow, then.

The view was amazing, oh my goodness, no wonder Maura had suggested to go here, he had actually made things for a picnic, and, well, they had an amazing view. He loved the surface for views like this, but not only that, but the surface had Maura, the one human that loved him to the moon and back.

I’m very sad today. My 6 month old baby corn snake escaped two weeks ago. My grandma found him this morning at 9:45. I got to hold him and give him water but later at 11:25 he died. At least I got to say my goodbye.

I will forever love and miss you Noodles. I’m so sorry for everything. I’m sorry I didn’t take better care of you. I wish we had more time together. I bet you wouldn’t been the best snake growing up.

Taking the controller and giving Maura a questioning look, she simply sent him a smile and grabbed her own controller. “I thought it’d be fun if we just stayed home and play games today, if that’s okay with you…?” she spoke, trailing off at the end as she looked to him for his answer. Well, it honestly sounded better then going out to a crowded place, but he wasn’t much of a gamer.

“You’ll have to help me along the way.” he spoke, sitting down on the couch, watching his smile widen more, he would question how the two became a couple, but then again, she was possibly one of the few people he truly enjoyed so it was no surprise to him that they had gotten together after they had gotten close.

“You’ll love this game, hun, I promise.” she spoke, pulling up a game on her console, A Way Out, huh?  So they were playing a game based on a prison break? Eh, he wasn’t too sure if he’d like it or not, but whatever. He allowed Maura to select her character first, which happened to be Leo, so he was left with Vincent. Selecting Vincent, the two began to play…

… A few hours had passed, and surprisingly, he had actually enjoyed the game, though the ending, well, it wasn’t something he was actually pleased about.One character had to die, they both couldn’t get a happy ending, the both had a wife, a child, and yet, one of them had to die and leave the other’s family without a father. “That ending sucked.” He spoke, watching as Maura wiped the tears from her eyes at that sad ending. Like, the endings were really sad, it was almost painful for him to watch the ending cutscenes.

“Wha- Error, that ending was so sad, how could it have sucked?” Maura questioned his logic.

“Working together was meaningless in the end, one had to die, their family had to go through that heartbreak when all of that could have been avoided if they both didn’t want to kill each other in the end.” It was true, that it made everything pointless in the end of the game, their progress had turned to dust once the final parts of the game commenced. Though they got to the ending, even if it wasn’t one that was too desired by either parties playing.

“True. But that’s the beauty of games, the endings can be different, and there will always be different possibilities about how it could have ended! It also allows you to experience the hard choices, but my favorite thing about video games? I get to play with my player number one.” She winked at him, his cheek bones having a slight blush on them as he began glitching out a bit, causing her to laugh lightly.

“G-g-god, that w-w-was ch-ch-cheesy. Even f-f-for you.” his voice glitched as he spoke.

“But I mean it, I love getting to spend time with you, and I want you to know that. You’re my wonderful boyfriend, how could I not love spending time with you.” she hummed slightly in satisfaction, before she placed another two player game in, a slightly devious grin on her face as she spoke, “You ready for another game, hun?”

“You’re on.”

Therapists finding loopholes for mental illness things is one of my favorite things about dealing with mental illness because it really helps me understand that just because a reaction is Common doesn’t mean it’s Right. Does doing dishes stress you out a lot? Buy paper plates. Do your obsessive thoughts make you worry about leaving your curling iron on so you drive home from work to check? Just put the curling iron in your purse and bring it to work with you while we work on tackling where this worry comes from. Symptom management doesn’t have to look like drudgery.

i used to go days without showering because seeing my body was so upsetting that i would end up spiraling and then i realized i could simply turn the lights out. it took some getting used to but i’ve been showering with the lights off for years and it’s now one of my favorite parts of my day.

do whatever you want nothing is real and there’s no need to inflict unnecessary suffering on yourself just to try to seem “normal”

One of my favorite stories is this lady had extremely bad OCD. Every day she’d be late to work because she was convinced that her hair dryer was going to burn down the house so would always have to turn around and check it. Multiple times a day even. A bunch of doctors tied to “fix” her of that fear, until one day she got a doctor that suggested she bring the hair dryer with her. Other doctors were annoyed, saying that wasn’t a the correct way to help, but she gave it a go. When she had that fear, she’d look over and see the hair dryer unplugged in the seat next to her and was able to carry on. I think it’s such a perfect example of actually helping someone instead of forcing them into a neurotypical standard.
