I spent Easter and the following week with my parents and I came home just in time to see my little orchid blooming again after a few months!
Mom's dog is such a cutie 😍 I brought him a ball and for some reason he pretended he didn't see it? Apparently biting my arm is better game 😆 Also we went canicrossing three times and it was great!

today's log:
morning shift spent sifting through the city hall's archives (and listening to TMA, of course)
5 🍅 afternoon study session at the association study space (archival theory/history of latin script)
started reading Il Biblionauta, a book that has inhabited my shelves for a year, as a refresher on certain topics (will I ever get around to reading fiction again? anyone's guess)
Spent the late afternoon at our fave café with some friends and then accompanied them on some errands. The exam- related anxiety will set in again soon, I'm sure, but for now I'm doing my best to keep chugging on.

one of the most boring lessons I’ve learned is that when a task feels overwhelming, you just have to start doing it. Even if you’re not sure how to do 90% of it, look for one small component that seems close and start there. Sometimes it’s reading one article on the topic, or searching one related term, or literally just googling how to do the task. Do anything other than thinking about it. The process of working on a thing inherently makes it less scary.

happy april and happy friday!
today, i was quite productive: i worked out, wrote an essay of 1700 words, sent two emails which i’ve been procrastinating, and made a birthday card for my dad! i still want to finish an essay of 400 words before tonight. and that wraps up my to-do list for today!
sending positive thoughts, a warm mug of your favorite beverage (spring herbal tea for me), and your favorite snack bar (nakd blueberry muffin)! ☕️

ok so I was going to write a different caption for this but I honestly have no idea wtf I’m doing right now lol. so far this quarter has been the busiest I’ve ever had- I’m taking 19 credits (the highest I’ve ever taken), started working at my first internship, doing work with some community activist organizations, planning what my life is going to look like over the next year, not to mention… surviving during an election year in a global pandemic). needless to say, I am very tired. it’s all just a lot and last week I finally burnt out.
tbh it feels wrong to complain about everything I’m doing because it’s all stuff that I genuinely love (other than analyzing founding father speeches for my communication of public address class) but I guess I really just have to keep reminding myself that work is work, and productivity isn’t admirable if you never take a break. you don’t have to earn the right to rest- what’s important is that you prioritize it. my life will work itself out one way or another. everything is going to be okay. sending you lots of love xxx

Did some sketching, and finally had a job interview after sO long! Honestly I think it went great. Maybe not perfect but maybe a 8/10? Not pictured here but I also removed a turmeric stain from my (white!!) bedsheet and I couldn't be prouder of myself 😌✨

Gymnocalycium mostii
We received this plant many years ago under the name Gymnocalycium valnicekianum, but this name is now considered a synonym of G. mostii. Its chubby body has a full complement of stiff spines, and its off-white flowers have dark red centers that contrast nicely with the pale yellow pollen. From the province of Cordoba, Argentina, to the northwest of Buenos Aires.

Trying to get my life in order and start properly applying to jobs. My internship ended a few weeks ago and I took a little break for Eid, but now its crunch time 😤 Job searching is the absolute worst but I wrote a giant list of all the things I have to do and seeing it is giving me motivation!
