Analyzing Sasunarusasu reunion
Yesterday I finally watched Sasunaru reunion and I have to say, that sequence is a SNS feast in so many ways. Well, because Iām detail freak, no matter what I watch, Iām always trying to find continuity mistakes and implicit infosā¦ this is my hobby. So, forgive me if I take analyzes way too far.:D
This post will probably be a long one, and Iām sorry. Also, this is clearly a pro-SNS post.Ā
Alright, time for some analysis, bear with me.
The sequence starts with Sasuke interacting with Sai. He is portrayed completely out of emotions and full of malice, just a shadow with Sharingan eyes. However, when Sai mentions Naruto, Sasuke shows his real emotion for the first timeā¦ sadness.Ā
Of course, soon enough, he fakes sadness with an angry expression.Ā
Later, when Team Kakashi finally arrives at Orochimaruās hideout, Naruto screams for Sasuke. On his bedroom, Sasuke wakes up, but he doesnāt run away. He could easily avoid that meeting with Naruto, but he chooses to stay. The only reason I see is that Sasuke wants to see Team 7 again, especially Naruto (since it is Narutoās voice that echoes in his bedroom).
Sasuke explodes his chamber after Saiās attack, Naruto follows the sound of their voices and they are reunited after three years. Different from what I expected, there is no evil in Sasukeās face, thereās no sarcastic smile, no pride, no superiority, he doesnāt even show off his new powersā¦ he just stares at Naruto, likeā¦ a longing stare. Ā
Sasuke has space issues, he doesnāt like to be touched or people getting too close, but the whole āIām going to kill you nowā looks like just an excuse to touch/be physically close to Naruto again, becauseā¦
ā¦ minutes later, when Sakura attacks Sasuke, Yamato sees that Sasuke will really strike to kill. Yamato didnāt see the same intent from Sasuke towards Naruto. Sasuke wouldnāt kill Naruto.
Plus, there was no need to be so close since Sasukeās sword canāt be diverted. He could easily perform a frontal attack with his speed right there.Ā
Plus, when Naruto escapes from his arms, Sasuke is not in fight mode yet.
By the end of the episode, Kabuto reminds Sasuke of Akatsukiās goal, to trap tailed beasts, process in which jinchuurikis inevitably die. Sasuke knows Itachi is the Akatsuki member responsible for Naruto. When Sasuke looks back at Kabuto, he is not angry or coldā¦ he is worried, worried because itās finally time for Itachi to capture the Nine-tailed beastā¦ and, like Sasuke himself said, they are not ready for Itachi. After all training and sacrifice, heās still not powerful enough to protect the person he cares about. Ā
Sasuke has to break away again. His eyes doesnāt even flicker towards Sakura, Sai and Yamato. Naruto isā¦Ā
