actually i love having relationships that are unconventional to other people. they’re customized to the people involved. the way some relationship dynamics are viewed has always bothered me. personally, i prefer leaving many of my relationships unlabeled and it works for me and those people. And that doesn’t mean discussions aren’t had about the nature of the relationship.
i love being able to have a deep meaningful relationship that also is primarily sexual in nature with no intention to move up the escalator ladder. i love relationships with the flexibility to withstand major changes even to the relationship itself. i love being able to be casual. i love being able to be in it for the long haul. i love exploring the multitude of ways to interact and engage with people. i love having the opportunity to learn myself in new ways through the doors relationships open up.
no one cares that you shave your legs because of sensory issues shut the fuck up forever
really galling amount of people misinterpreting this post so i'd like to clarify. i'm saying that when discussions about patriarchal beauty standards and the way women are heavily shamed and coerced into eschewing their own natural state of being (hairy) are occurring, it is unhelpful (AT BEST) to interrupt and say that the reason YOU remove the hair from your body is because of sensory issues. that's not what we're talking about. stop asking for validation for doing something that society at large wants you to do. stop derailing the conversation because you feel uncomfortable about being made aware that you, for whatever reason it is, adhere to harmful, unfair and ridiculous beauty standards. you're stepping into the middle of an important conversation that needs to be had and making it all about you. shut the fuck up forever.
also quite frankly i think a lot less people would experience sensory issues if they let their hair grow out so that it isn't bristly and rough and irritating. and i cannot help but wonder why these sensory issues aren't as predominant in men. maybe you're uncomfortable with the hair on your body because you've been taught to be uncomfortable with it. just a thought.
The beautiful art of Thomas Blackshear II
i went to his website and saw even more great art! sharing some more which i particularly appreciated
HUH?
Most cop thing I've ever read. what the fuck are you talking about. The posts you're looking for might be on this website but we won't show them to you???
I'm sure all my settings are set to "yes show me mature content no don't filter anything" what are you TALKING ABOUT
the posts are ON THE WEBSITE. I can't search dirty words?? am I five??? is this club penguin??? when I get you
Framing censorship as protection is fine and dandy until they start expanding what content people need to be “protected from.”
am i losing the drive to create things for an increasingly alien and hostile world whose mounting taste for fascism feels like a cold metal vise around my skull or am i just lazy and unmedicated and looking for excuses
they're on the twitter stealing my shit‼️
people coming at me for the typo. what typo. buddy you're the typo
have you guys heard about the greenland shark. some crazy shit happening there.
they are sexually mature at ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS OLD.
their (live!) young gestate for. wait for it. eight to eighteen (??) YEARS. can have up to 10 at a time. good grief.
longest lifespan of any vertebrate, up to five hundred years
toxic flesh
has giant eyes but is usually blind because of a weird little crustacean that's evolved to live on and eat their eyes. this doesn't seem to bother them much.
lives in deep cold water and has the lowest swim speed and tail-beat frequency for its size across all fish species. just generally lives life in extreme slow motion
largest genome of any shark
eats everything including moose and polar bears
ma'am you are delightfully strange and I'm privileged to share a planet with you
this post prompted me to refresh my memory on Greenland Shark Facts and this detail about how they feed goes so hard
just vacuuming up their unsuspecting prey. whole !
Good news good news good news! Recent research suggests the eye parasites do NOT blind them!

I <3 you a normal amount Greenland sharks
My little brother was watching The Clone Wars again the other day, and I accidentally walked past and got inspired to draw fanart of Best Boi bounty hunter Embo (and his doggo).

AND EMBO IS SO HAPPY
For your humble consideration: Kyuzo hat as a puppy bed.
i would rather see the information for an event handwritten in sharpie on a paper towel than see another AI generated flyer
Saving this post to show my boss who I told the AI flier makes us look lazy and ignorant, and offered to hand draw one. She still printed tons of ai fliers and I'm tempted to make a better one just because it annoys me so much.
Fun update: event was canceled because literally nobody rsvp'd to the AI flier.
I think using AI for something like that falls in the same category as leaving a typo in - it suggests to me you couldn't be bothered to put even the smallest amount of effort in to something so simple, so why should I trust you've put in any effort anywhere else

ITS TIME
[Video description: A short clip from the show Make Some Noise. Erika Ishii, imitating Ebenezer Scrooge, points dramatically and yells, "You, boy! What day is it?" Brennan responds, "It's pride, bitch!" End description.]
I wish all environmentalists a very suck cocks in hell
I wish that this person would receive perfect clarity of mind about her actions and their consequences, and I wish a gun with a single bullet would be placed before her so that she could make good use of this mindstate
Step 1: Mandate alternatives to emission-heavy systems
Step 2: Fail to provide energy for said systems
Step 3: ???
Step 4: ??? still
Step 5: Guess I’ll die
Ma! Maaaaa! The Germans are blowing up their power plants again!
my favorite graph regarding nuclear
reminds me of the time I said something pro-nuclear to my ex and they said “I don’t think you’d feel that way if you grew up near a nuclear plant like I did” and I asked “oh what happened” and they were like “well. nothing. nevertheless”
no discussion of nuclear power is complete without the fact that coal and other fossil fuels very much do produce toxic and radioactive waste
Anyone who is anti-nuclear is anti-environment. Nuclear is safe, it is clean, and it is even more energy dense than fossil fuels. It might not be truly renewable, but there’s so much energy available that it doesn’t make much of a difference. To try and shut it down is to put down one of your strongest allies in the fight against fossil fuels.
Everytime this comes around again, I remember that there was a push to refit coal power plants to run on nuclear, due to the fact that other than the power source, your still just boiling water so everything else is the same.
They couldn’t get the ok to refit the coal plants tho, because the coal power plants were too radioactive to pass nuclear power plant standards.
THE COAL PLANTS WERE TOO RADIOACTIVE TO BE TURNED INTO NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS.
I’m not anetting man, but I’d still place money down on the assumption that I’d you traced funding/inspiration of the End Nuclear Power movements, it wouldn’t be long before you ran into oil company/country money

Some AAVE speakers pluralize 'child' as 'childrens'. People get racist about this ("It's already plural!"), but 'children' actually comes from Middle English speakers doing the same thing: slapping their plural marker on word already pluralized by an extinct plural marker.
To oversimplify: in Old English, 'childer' ('ċildra') was the plural of 'child' ('ċild'). Middle English developed an '-en' plural marker, which we see in 'oxen'. Instead of updating to 'childen', people slapped their preferred '-en' onto the end of 'childer' - so now we have 'child-er-en'. AAVE carries on this tradition with 'child-er-en-s'.
"Pure" language is just impurity obscured by the passage of time.

There is… a lot going on here.
