1. pay attention!
take the time to use the 5 primary senses (i.e. touch, sound, sight, smell & taste) to get familiar with your environment and surroundings
2. live in the moment
be aware of what is happening in the moment you are currently experiencing
3. accept yourself for who you are
this helps you to recognize your value that goes beyond your personal attributes and actions
4. focus on your breathing
this helps to eliminate negative thoughts, feelings & emotions you may be feeling

Be intentional. Reach out to people even if they rarely reach out to you. Have food that both fills you up and nurtures you. Make a habit of catching yourself in the act of being overly critical of the things you do or the way you look (and choose to be nicer to yourself). Pick the scary new thing over the safe familiar thing once in while. Life is best lived when it’s lived consciously and with intent.
the most power anyone has over you should be the power to make you wonder where you can improve, how you can move forward and grow and what it is about you that might need a bit more work. you shouldn’t enter any kind of relationship with the impression that you’re not good enough and it’s only a matter of time before you ruin things, but you also shouldn’t enter any type of relationship thinking that you’re as perfect as you can get and anyone who challenges that idea is wrong. have faith in who you are, but don’t give up on who you could grow into. there are lessons to learn about yourself everywhere.
