I wanted to make a sort of quick reference for the writing I’ve been doing, and I’ve seen a few posts like this floating around, so here goes.
A little about me as a writer: I guess the first thing you should know about me is I like writing about those quiet little moments that don’t seem to matter much, but actually change everything. “Slice of Life” if I had to label it. Right now I write mainly Lukanette for Miraculous Ladybug.

Characters/Pairings: Luka Couffaine, Marinette Dupain-Cheng; Luka Couffaine/Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Rating: Teen and Up
Summary: While waiting on her flight to board, Marinette discovers she never uninstalled that dating app Alya had signed her up for. She’s also surprised to find Luke Stone uses it – and that he’s sitting right behind her.
Author’s Notes/Warnings: @Rierse dropped a plunny, and while she was getting bullied enabled into chasing it I was sitting in boring meetings kicking stuff around? So uh. Hey, two cakes? 😂🖤
“Hard Pass, Huh?”
“Attention please. Attention please…”
Marinette glanced up as the tannoy clanged to life. She glanced at the board as the woman’s voice prattled off another flight that would be delayed due to the weather, and she sighed as she noted there was no change to her own flight. For now, at least, it looked like she wasn’t going anywhere.
She turned back to her phone and sank lower in the uncomfortable plastic chair. She hadn’t bothered checking the weather when she’d left that morning, but she’d been on autopilot since Fashion Week had ended twenty…eight hours ago? She wasn’t entirely sure anymore. She had wrapped up her last show and had immediately been whisked off to a party one of Audrey’s partners was throwing. She hadn’t had time to catch any sleep before she’d had to head back to pack up her designs and make sure everything was properly labelled and sorted to the delivery service, and then she’d been dragged off for a series of interviews before she’d had to race back to her hotel to pack and make checkout. The entire week had been a crazy, exhilarating blur, but the past day had been absolute hell. Just then, all she really wanted was her own bed, back in Paris, instead of the (admittedly fairly comfortable) hotel bed in New York.
…she didn’t always like New York. These days. It was a huge city, easy to get lost in, but these days she felt like she spent the entire time there on edge. Just waiting to accidentally run into…it hadn’t happened. Yet. But she had never been a big believer in her own luck, and she knew her days were numbered.
Summary: A delayed flight means time to kill…what better way that scrolling through Tinder?
-------*-------*-------*-------*-------*-------
Airplanes were impatient. Everyone knew that. That's why it was important to arrive early, find the correct gate and be ready to go all before even finding coffee.
Marinette, who was late for almost everything, had never missed a plane because she followed the rules of the air; she respected the hurry-up-and-wait-mentality for the duration of travel.
Sometimes the planes didn't follow the rules no matter how well she did. Sometimes it was the plane that was late, and instead of being two hours early and having just enough time for security and a cup of much needed coffee… travelers got stuck with three cups of coffee, the jitters, and time to kill.
She had finished a book and caught up with her emails. Slumping into her seat where she was only halfway through a three hour delay, Marinette glared at her phone for not being more entertaining. The Tinder logo caught her eye. She had barely set it up before making travel plans and forgetting about it.
Maybe she could glance at a few profiles, make a date for when she got back. That could be fun. Traveling was brutal for relationships… most guys wanted a girl who would be available at their beck and call, not off wowing the world with her fashion designs and all but non-existent for the two months leading up to fashion week.
Her profile laid that all out from the get go. Surely, that would weed the clingy or controlling ones out.
The first couple of "matches" seemed nice enough, not bad looking, but not exactly eye-catching either. She swiped left for no. One guy was striking, but his profile said he wanted "a little lady to stay home and keep house for him." Hard no. How had he even been presented to her?
She swiped right on a couple of guys who did not have a fish in their photo, lived in France but mentioned travel. She could message them later.
No.
No.
Ew. No.
Hmm. Maybe. Yes.
Marinette froze. Bright blue eyes under dark hair practically pierced her from behind the screen. Luke Stone. Her heart thudded in her chest… but rock stars didn't use Tinder, so there was no way the profile pic was real. Not even remotely interested in liars, she swiped left. No.
Too bad.
"Ouch. Hard no on that one, huh?"
Marinette swiveled in her seat to see a guy leaning forward from the seat behind her. A guy with piercing blue eyes and dark, blue-tipped hair. The same guy she had just swiped no on.
"Bu—Uh… there's no way. You. He. Rockstars don't use Tinder! Had to be a scam. Stolen pic."
She wasn't making any sense, but Luke-freaking-Stone was smirking at her. Who could be sensible under the circumstances?
He lifted his phone, the Tinder app up with her smiling face on the screen. Very deliberately, he swiped right.
"This Rockstar signed up for Tinder the moment he realized what you were doing."
"Why?" Marinette asked. It wasn't that she wasn't a confident person, she was successful and reasonably attractive and clever…but she wasn't used to being noticed by hot guys. There was always someone in the room who was more noticeable or prettier or who exuded the kind of raw sex appeal that worked like some sort of mystical magnetism.
She had never been a guy magnet.
"Because life is short and you are hot."
Marinette felt her cheeks heat, she glanced down at her phone and tapped the rewind button—maybe paying for Tinder Plus hadn't been the most foolish thing in the world. When Luke's photo reappeared, she opened his profile.
Luka Couffaine.
Likes music. Frequent Traveler. Willing to miss a flight for a dark haired beauty.
She snapped her head up, puzzled. "Miss a flight?"
Luke—no, Luka— pointed out the window where a jet was screaming into the sky as it took off.
"I was hoping that meeting you would be worth it."
Heart galloping, she held his cerulean gaze while she swiped right.
"I'm Marinette."
Luka leaned forward and brushed a kiss across her cheek… too intimate for a traditional bise, but very sweet.
The LBSC Sprint Challenge is now open for writers and artists! The prompts are:
1. "Not me expecting makeouts and getting muffins."
2. "What an alarming use of free will."
3. My love language is safety. And feeling safe means collecting evidence that I can be my authentic, messy, sometimes dysregulated and struggling human self, and still be valued, cared for, and not abandoned. - Daniell Koepke
4. Wildcard - pick any previous challenge prompt, or play LBSC Smooch Roulette to generate a prompt!
You have until Wednesday, June 25 to complete your 3 15-minute sprints/45 minute art sprint and post the results. Once you’ve completed the sprints, you have 24 hours to edit (which can include some new writing to smooth transitions and make it feel complete, and whatever work you feel appropriate to get your art to a state you consider ‘finished’).
Please note you may sprint in the language of your choice, and you can either translate the final fic before posting, post it in the original language, or both as you choose. You can join us on the LBSC discord or sprint on your own! Just be sure to tag @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers in your final post so we will see it and reblog it. The rest of the rules can be found here under the cut.
Rules!
We’ll post a beginning and end date to the challenge, and a prompt.
Writers, If you choose to participate in the event, write for that prompt in up to three 15 minute sprints. No writing outside the sprints until you have completed all three! After the 3 sprints are complete, you have 24 hours to edit (which can include some new writing to smooth transitions, etc). You can also choose to break that 45 minutes up differently if you find a different split works better for you. After those 24 hours, post what you’ve got. Tag your posts with @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers so we can reblog it to the LBSC blog. If you post your work on AO3 or somewhere other than Tumblr, you can leave a link in our ask box or in the appropriate discord channel so we can be sure to promote it. After the designated challenge end date, we’ll compile a listing of the submissions and post it to the LBSC blog.
Feel free to sprint in whatever language is most comfortable to you! You can post it in your own language or translate it before posting, or both!
Artists, you have 45 minutes to sketch and 24 hours to do any cleanup or coloring you’d like to complete. You can split your 45 minutes up however you like, or not at all. There’s no requirements on your finished piece, just aim for whatever goal seems challenging but achievable to you. Tag your posts with @lovebugs-and-snakecharmers so we can reblog it to the LBSC blog. If you post your work on Instagram or somewhere other than Tumblr, you can leave a link in our ask box or in the appropriate discord channel so we can be sure to promote it. After the designated challenge end date, we’ll compile a listing of the submissions and post it to the LBSC blog.
If you’re wavering as to whether or not you think you can accomplish anything in 45 minutes, we really encourage you to give the challenge a try. You may be surprised what you can do! Feel free to join us in the discord linked above so we can encourage and cheer you on.
Obviously, this has to run a bit on the honor system and we won’t be tracking your times, but please do your best to honor the spirit of the challenge! If your sprint fic becomes an Entire Thing (these things happen sometimes) and you want to continue it, feel free! However, please still post whatever you’ve got after your 3 sprints with the tag. No fair busting out a fully polished fic or art without showing us what it looked like at the challenge stage!
We want to keep this a positive space and event! This does NOT mean that you can’t write or draw anything critical of a character or episode, but it isn’t the space for character bashing or hate either. Please keep the characters in character and save the more speculative work for another time. NSFW sprint works are permitted but must be tagged appropriately (please use “NSFW LBSC sprint challenge” for easy filtering on the blog) and with appropriate warnings. (More FAQ about the process here)
This is a Lukanette blog and a Lukanette event, so while Lukanette does not need to be the main ship, it needs to at least be included or referenced and considered endgame (in other words, they don’t have to be together by the end of your work, but the intent is that they’re headed in that direction). The decision about what qualifies for reblog rests solely with the LBSC moderators. If a piece hasn’t been reblogged within a couple of days, either the mods felt the piece didn’t meet the criteria or it was simply missed; you are welcome to reach out in the asks to inquire which. There are plenty of other spaces out there for other ships and OT3s, and people are welcome to use the challenge rules and prompts to write for their own ships! They just won’t be reblogged to the LBSC blog, and we ask that you please not use the event tag (a modified form is fine - “InsertAlternateShipName sprint challenge” instead of “LBSC sprint challenge,” for example).
