Max and Mike are too similar, so I think they would understand each other a bit too well for them to be comfortable with each other in the group, but that's until they talk alone and suddenly bond over their avoidance issues.

I headcanon Max being the only one that can call Mike out on his behavior, and him listening, although only after swearing at her and reflecting alone a bit later.
