[Obikin Fantasy AU]
Fantasy AU where Anakin is a half-dead possessed with spirits and Obi-Wan is a bard (and a half-fae) who can use his voice to help Anakin to control his possession.
Headcanons about this AU under cut
Anakin was born as a slave and later saved by the King Palpatine. He became his most loyal soldier and an enforcer, seeing the King as a friend and a mentor. That was until he saw evidence which revealed that the King works with the slavers, and when he "saved" Anakin, Palpatine actually just punished a slaver who dared to betray him. Anakin confronted the king, but was overpowered by his own squad, tortured, and then thrown into the Pits.
The Pits are old mines where slaves mined magical crystals until the monsters from the caves below attacked and killed everyone. Now it's a dangerous place filled with restless ghosts and monsters high on magical energy.
Anakin was almost dead, but his fury, pain, and thirst for vengeance attracted many restless ghosts; they possessed his body, basically making him half-dead.
Sometime later, Obi-Wan (a bard and Duchess Satine spy) was running away from the King's enforcers since he also had the information about Palpatine's shady deals. Between being captured or throwing himself into the Pits, he chose the second option. He should be dead after such a fall, but his Fae ancestry allows him to use some magic, and he was able to soften his fall, but he still sustained some damage. After that, he spends some time in the mines; his Fae ability to mind control living beings with the voice helped him to survive.
At some point, he meets Anakin, half mad and possessed, he almost killed Obi-Wan, but Obi-Wan was able to break through to him with his voice and snap Anakin out of his state.
Since they're both have similar goals and enemies, they decided to use Anakin's enhanced strength and stamina and Obi-Wan's magic and voice to climb out of the Pits, join the rebellion, and kick Palpatine's ass.
And they might as well to fall in love with each other while doing all that, why not?
while palpatine sucks as a guy, you do have to appreciate how his wardrobe went from esteemed galactic chancellor to backalley goblin overlord after only about 3 seconds of dictatorship
