Kinda sick of seeing shit like 'butches can wear dresses if they want'. Yeah, we know. We've been told since we were children. Pressured to dress 'right' for family events or celebrations. I’ll get on my soapbox about this because one, I’ve worked in immigration since 2018 and two, I did my writing requirement in law school on the original meaning of “subject to” in the citizenship clause.

Over and over again, I can’t stop thinking about the doctor clients I’ve helped over the years. SHOCKINGLY, American doctors don’t want to practice in bumfuck nowhere and so we have something called a J-1 waiver that incentivizes foreign-born doctors to spend a few years in medically underserved areas in exchange for not having to go to their home country for two years before they can get a green card. Many on this path then convert to H-1B status. I’ve worked with multiple large hospital systems in multiple MUAs, enough to see a representative sample. These are people often marrying other doctors they went to American medical school with, or marrying a spouse who holds their own H-1B status. People who’ve spent years in residency and fellowship programs in the United States. Sometimes these couples - gasp - have U.S. citizen children.

An adverse SCOTUS ruling would have told those children yeah ok I know your parents are here lawfully and have a high-demand skillset that maybe one other guy max in the state can do, and I know they’re literally saving American lives and all but no no no, no citizenship for you.

To be clear, I don’t give a flying fuck whether the parents are undocumented or here in expired status or whether they came on a tourist visa intending to give birth here.

But it’s always struck me as cruel that an entire political party was prepared to spit in the face of literal babies because their educated parents entered on the “wrong” visa.

The Kingdom of Hawai’i was illegally overthrown with the help of American businessmen and we have suffered under the iron grip of America.

Our land is simply seen as a vacation spot, my people are simply seen as tour guides and hula dancers. We have had our culture, our history, and our people turned into a commercialized joke by America.

The rampant tourism kills our islands with endless hotels, attractions and overcrowding. The housing and living costs are out of control because of the false “paradise” narrative. The Navy poisons our water and destroys our land. Covid has killed so many of my people due to the reckless and selfish nature of tourists. I have lost loved ones to this virus, because tourists “couldn’t stay away”.

My people have suffered. I have suffered.

We are more than your vacation. We are more than an aesthetic.

We are a sovereign nation illegally occupied by the United States of America.

Restore Hawai’i to Hawaiians. End the American Occupation.
