Totally random but why does everyone think the backlash to ghostbusters is about them being girls? All the complaints I have (and all I've seen) come from it being a shameless cash grab, also I kinda want it to be bad just to show people are sick of re-makes. Sorry I just had to get this out please don't block me lol

Hate to break it to you but I also believe that most (if not all) of the backlash is about them being girls – and not just the fact that they’re girls, the fact that they’re not super skinny titty-out sexy ghostbusters uniform girls. You literally just have to look at the comments on the trailers on youtube to see for yourself. (my personal favourite being this).

If you require further food for thought, let’s hark back to November 2014, and the release of the Jurassic World trailer. Think of the similarities between Jurassic World and Ghostbusters 2016: a more high-tech, bigger budget, more modern version of a beloved 20th century classic - right down to the slow piano versions of the original themes. Both original movies adored for their charm and how they’ve influenced film today. The difference being the Jurassic World trailer wasn’t absolutely loathed by thousands. (It was, however, loathed by me). Hmm, I wonder why? Probably because every main character is male besides Claire, a thin white girl in high heels. And that’s what people want to see, evidently.

The Jurassic World trailer wasn't hated by fans because a) it was a sequel, not an arbitrary remake and b) JW looked like a watchable movie. GB legitimately looks like it will be the worst tentpole summer action film of 2016, just awful. As someone who was excited for the film when it was announced, I can tell you the hate has very little to do with the female leads. Star Wars, a primarily male led franchise has chosen a female protagonist twice with mostly positive results. The Ghostbusters trailer looks like ass, plain and simple.

Regressive agenda: "A vocal minority of losers are hating on Ghostbusters 2016 because they're sexist! Everyone else loves it!" Reality: Most people (including women) hate it for a variety of reasons (bad sfx, cringe worthy jokes, the audacity of remaking ghostbusters with no original input whatsoever, the main villain of the film beING THE FUCKING LOGO) A vocal minority of regressive liberals defend it because reasons. Regressive agenda: "A Ghostbusters reboot starring women is a great step forward in progression." Reality: An unimaginative retread of a near perfect film is useless, regardless of the gender of the main cast. True progression is an original property starring woman with its own iconic moments and inspiring ideas. Regressive agenda: "Defend Ghostbusters because it has women in it!" Reality: Defend good films because they have merit, not just because they serve a political viewpoint. Diversity is a plus, and something we should strive for in future films (we have enough stories about heterosexual white guys). But it shouldn't be used as a crutch to excuse bad filmmaking. I know you want women to be shown as heroes (trust me, I do too), but Sony Pictures is using these women as a shield to deflect criticism from what is clearly a disaster waiting to happen. It's not progressive, period.

Batman v Superman thoughts

Uh, well first of all it sucked. I mean the movie sucked SO fucking hard. The film was a completely joyless mess and I hated it. It was shocking in its incompetence. The plot was essentially non existent, the characters were bland and unlikable, not to mention the schizophrenic editing. Pretty much every creative decision was for the worse, leaving a terrible foundation for the upcoming justice league movie. The titular fight is flaccid in its execution, as is the premature arrival of Wonder Woman. Don't waste your money people.

Set during Episode 3, the morning after Max and Chloe broke into the Blackwell pool.  Max goes down for breakfast and is asked to decide what she wants to eat … but it looks like she’s got something else on her mind. :P
