So, has anyone written that AU fic for Peekaboo? You know, the one where instead of leaving the kid to be picked up by the authorities, Jesse panics and takes the kid with him. That fic. Where Jesse scrambles to fix that mess. And then somehow, him having committed the very serious crime of kidnapping ends up being the thing that gets him clean and out of Albuquerque and ...happy. I'd like to read that.

A movie would require that he change his mind and realize that the best possible thing to do is to contact social services and have the kid find a good foster home. Yes. But! In fanfic we can see him get away with this and drive to Alaska with this little passenger and open up the world's most out-of-control daycare.

Guys I just thought of something that made me feel a little bit better:

Daenerys opens her eyes and instead of Jon looming over her, crying, she sees a tall house with a red door.

Sitting up, she sees a lemon tree by a window - HER window.

She sees three baby dragons flying overhead, chirping that sounds like a baby’s laugh.

Listening closer, she DOES hear a baby’s laugh. Along with Missandei’s voice. And Jorah’s. And…

Daenerys turns around to see Missandei and Jorah right outside the house, laughing at something the baby sitting on the ground must have done. Sitting beside them, not paying attention to their conversation since he looked only at Dany, was Drogo.

So he waited for her after all.

I actually really like what’s going on with Michael. He’s being self-aware. He’s recognizing that his love for Alex is, at least now, tied up with too much pain for them to have a happy, healthy relationship. He has feelings for someone else, and yeah it’s definitely complicated, but he’s giving hope a shot, something he needs to do. Whether that ultimately ends in a lifelong relationship with Maria or Alex (or some hypothetical other), he’s trying to be a version of himself that doesn’t dwell in misery and that has to happen sometime.

(Maria totally noticed the hand, too, and I want a second season for all the reasons, but that’s definitely one of them.)

i’ve been thinking about all those posts about “we need female heroes who do girly things”/”why is the female hero always such a tomboy” and then the response posts that are like “uhhh actually we don’t really have any really masculine female heroes either” so i was trying to figure it out—what do we have, exactly?

and really what we get is women who eschew “girly” things while still managing to look like society’s ideal woman. they would never touch eyeliner (they’re too busy with Important Things), but their eyeliner is immaculate. they have a huge, varied wardrobe, but wouldn’t be caught dead actually shopping for clothes. and it reminds me of the expectation that women must be effortlessly beautiful. don’t wear makeup or you’ll seem self-absorbed—but god forbid you look like you’re not wearing makeup. it’s interesting to me, that the impossibilities imposed on female characters are the same ones imposed on real women.
