for what it's worth: after a few months of submitting help tickets as 'feedback' when i saw a post inappropriately flagged as mature, i tried following this suggestion instead. today i got my first-ever response from tumblr support on this issue, letting me know that a post i'd submitted a ticket before has had its mature content flag removed.

Funny to see this when I got a notification that a mature content label had been put on my fic update post from last night. I sent back a response that I figured they must have flagged based off one of my tags which...was a turn of phrase, not "mature" at all.

I still remember as a kid thinking the path everybody went down went something like this:

Go to school -> find a boyfriend/girlfriend (and at the time I thought you could only have a boyfriend if you were a girl or viceversa) while in high school -> go to college (and keep aforementioned boy/girlfriend) -> graduate -> get married to aforementioned boy/girlfriend -> get a house -> have kids

Like, the assumption was always there that as I grew up I'd find somebody I liked, we'd like each other, we'd get married, we'd have kids, etc. There didn't seem to be any option other than that.

Of course, eventually as I grew up I came to understand there were other options and my life didn't follow that path and I'm glad it didn't. I don't think I would have been happy if I'd just settled for what I'd grown up believing was what I was supposed to be doing.
