Has anyone noticed that The Devil is actually the most angelic of all the angels?
Okay, real talk… I seriously need someone to help me out here. I’ve just been thinking this for awhile now and would love some thoughts…
First of all to make my point, I need to start off with I’m not buying into this Amenadiel is the favorite son shenanigans. (Are any of you?) All through the first season is was talked about how Lucifer was the favorite child and how all his siblings knew it, but somehow just because a little book said Amenadiel was the favorite, suddenly Lucifer is tossed to the side.
This makes absolutely no sense to me, cause it just doesn’t seem to add up. Yes, God called upon Amen for a lot of things, but I look at this a lot as in my own family. My parents ask my older sibling to do a lot more than they do me, but it’s simply because she has more experience in a lot of areas and has far different tasks than what I do during the day.
The next thing is, this book that told us this was written after Lucifer’s Rebellion because God had to break the Flaming Sword up so Lucifer could not again rebel against him. So God would never give a piece to his favorite son, Lucifer, he would give it to another one to protect- and what better way for someone not to find it? Cause even Amen thought God had given it to Lucifer!
Which brings me back around to Lucifer’s Rebellion, which seemed more like a rebellious teenager than it did a full out Devine War. Lucifer was condemned to Hell, but even then, Lucifer was trusted for eternity to do one of the hardest jobs- AND until recently, he followed his father’s command. He still wanted to please God as his angel, to do as he asked of him. And as the ruler of Hell, he had protection such as Maze… What other angel is so important to have guards?
So yes, Lucifer did abandon Hell, but my point is he stayed doing his job for a VERY long time and tried to please his Father in doing so. This goes in contrast to Amen who went to get his brother, and in the meantime, took it upon himself to try to murder Lucifer in the process by doing some really un-angelic stuff.
Uriel, did the same. He acted as if he was God, in a way, and did what he thought was best, not what God asked of him. Azrael, we can only assume, in my personal opinion is not very good or as faithful at her job either. I mean, come on, how long does it take to realize your sword is missing?
Lucifer never did this. He was a good ruler of Hell. He does good even now and protects those that are good. He tries to defy God, but he never acts for God, or thinks he knows what his father wants. He never used his power for evil- as he says, he punished evil. And every time we have seen his power since he has never used it in a vain context. He has simply done it in a good way- in an angelic way.
And what do you see when you think of an angel? White Wings. So far, Lucifer is the only one we’ve seen with huge ass white wings. When he stood in the desert or in front of that truck, he looked exactly what anyone would think of when thinking of an angel. They don’t think of dark wings like Amen or gray like Uriel. They think of Lucifer.
Lucifer, although insanely messed up and a bit rebellious, is God’s perfect angel. Which is maybe why God was SOOO pissed at Lucifer compared to everyone else, cause he created Lucifer be so perfect. He is the Lightbringer, whether it be huge white wings or the burning fires of hell in his eyes. He is the most angelic of all and he doesn’t even realize it.
Yes, he’s a bit rebellious. But really what has he done that is truly a TERRIBLE sinner. He’s a whore, he drinks, he parties, and tries to piss off his Dad. But we’ve seen t when it really counts. He follows the rules his father set. He doesn’t kill. He doesn’t rebel. We’ve even seen him talk to his father- look up at the sky as if searching for him.
It was painted as if Lucifer was so angry at his parents but he almost immediately forgave his mother. And as angry as he has been at God, when he thought God Johnson was his father, he also worked that out fairly quickly and was quite civil about it.
Cause Lucifer is a Fallen Angel, but that just means he lost some of the pride that comes with that title. If we’ve seen anything it’s that angels have egos, but Lucifer is the one that fits the ballet. He is the one, when not trying to be his father’s angel, is the most angelic of all.
I’d also love to add something about that damn ring, but I have nothing on that one yet.
