The Jellinom mini pin backerkit campaign IS LIVE as part of Pintopia 2!

This is my first time doing a crowdfund for a gacha collection - itty bitty pins that, once in stock, will only be available at random through gacha spins! In the campaign, you can choose each specific pin you want for $12 each, or do gacha spins for a discount (pricing shown above).

As a bit of a background, "Jellinoms" were originally a collaborative concept between my fiancé and I, starting with a "Flanom" design! These are teenier updated takes on the design with different expressions and colors, and keep the translucent enamel over smooth metal concept! They will have epoxy over the faces as well, which will make them look very multi-dimensional.

The base goal is 7 Jellinom pins I designed + a collaborative Jellinom design by Fantasy Fox Creations with holographic glitter! 

They are my Pintopia partner, so I also have a collab design in their cat paw campaign.

Backers of both campaigns will get the collab pins for free with their pledges! 💕 I also have early bird incentives for the first 48hrs!

An exclamation point after a number means factorial. Five factorial is 5 times 4 times 3 times 2 times 1. Three factorial is 3 times 2 times 1, etc.

But the more exclamation points after a number, the less big it is, a double factorial is every other number, so 6!! is 6 times 4 times 2, which is less than 6!, So yelling a number makes it bigger, but yelling louder makes it smaller again

i’m replaying the opening hours of dai and the “both sides” shit the game keeps trying to push with the mage/templar thing is hilariously hamfisted. 

first off, why the fuck are mages even attacking people? we hear about templars cutting down farmers because they think a shovel is a staff and that makes sense and is perfectly in keeping with what we’ve seen templars do in previous games. but the mages are literally given no motivation beyond “oh they’ve gone mad with power!!! see this is why you can’t let them out of the circles, once you stop oppressing people they go NUTS”. 

that bit at the crossroads? where you fight some templars and cassandra yells at them to stop because you’re not apostates and solas replies that they don’t seem to care? and then you turn around and fight some mages for NO REASON and solas tells them to stop because you’re not templars and varric says the mages aren’t listening? that was some of the most cringeworthy “baby’s first grey morality” writing i’ve seen. and i’ve read some shitty ya books in my time

secondly, the insistence on calling it the mage-templar war. you know, as opposed to the “we’ve been systematically abused and murdered for thousands of years and our only recourse is to rebel or else be slowly exterminated” rebellion. or if you want to be more poetic, the templars’ madness. a war implies both sides are on equal footing, which is not the case.

then there’s the constant comments from your companions. varric was always a centrist even in da2 (one of the few issues i had with him in that game) but now the devs have straight up made him their mouthpiece who tells you what you should think. “mages and templars, and innocent people caught in the middle”. the mages who are literally fighting for survival and the right to not be abused en masse are somehow not the innocents in this scenario. no, if those stupid mages just shut up and let themselves be enslaved again then this could all be avoided. it’s their fault, actually. 

and this is before the game has even started in on the elves.

I looked away…

I was thinking a lot about this moment. Somehow it feels like the agni kai was a watershed moment not only for Zuko, but also for Iroh.

I think this is something that Iroh is intensely ashamed about - and it is the source of all the patience he has with Zuko and his determination to make things right for him.

Because Zuko’s scar is not just a testament of Ozai’s cruelty as a father, but is a scar on the soul of the entire Fire Nation.

Their supreme ruler publicly mutilates his own son, a 13-year old child, who merely spoke the truth about a nation that in a quest for power has lost perspective on the worth of human life -  and everyone cheers.

The scarring and humiliation of the young prince (who should be really the symbol of the future to his people) is a grotesque public spectacle.

And Iroh, who was once next in line to leading these people, former great war hero, one of the most powerful benders, and still one of the nation’s leaders  - all he can do is to look away.

The boy who spoke the truth, who stood up for kindness, who tries to do the right thing, who refuses to fight his own father, who begs for forgiveness - he faces completely alone his horrible punishment, and nobody speaks up for him. 

And I think this is Iroh’s moment of truth - that disagreeing privately is not enough, he cannot look away anymore. He realizes that healing this boy could be the chance to heal the Fire Nation, that he is maybe destined to be their leader, but not from the throne of the Fire Lord. He has to get Zuko through this trauma and  show him kindness, love and acceptance in a way he has never experienced it. He has to teach him that speaking up and saying sorry should not and will not lead to harsh punishment, that kindness is not weakness and cruelty is not strength; that honor is not violence, but doing the right thing.
