i will forever be mad at the movies for not putting this scene in we literally get so little interaction between these two in the movies its just sad

but srsly think about it. imagine the potential they would've had if they just had more scenes together

i'm thinkin like narcissa actually going to diagon alley with draco and lucius during draco's 2nd year, narcissa's reaction to lucius accidentally freeing dobby (i have this deep feeling lucius was scared for his life that day just bc he had to tell her he lost their house-elf), narcissa going to the world cup (bc we all know she would've SERVED with her outfits), narcissa standing up for lucius when harry insulted him (just so ppl can stop saying he was a shit husband bc lets be real he's a shit person but definitely a good husband), a glimpse of them running hand-in-hand around the battle of hogwarts while screaming for draco (that would hit my heart just right)

it baffles me that there are people who think that lucius abraxas malfoy was an abusive father and husband because uhm????

do you think narcissa freaking black would let a man raise a hand on her son????

this woman lied to the devil to know if her son was alive or not why would you think she wont hex lucius right there if he dares to strike her son???

yes he was a rather harsh spoken father and the asshole hurt dobby for merlin's sake but i refuse to believe this man would dare hit draco. he knows narcissa would kill him on the spot if he does that

even draco has this strange need to impress his father because he admires the man for some reason and i like to just imagine that that reason is bc lucius malfoy is a gentle, caring, and loving husband behind that mask of being a dick to everyone else cos he thinks he's better than them

he doesn't shower draco with proud or soothing words cos i think that's not how the man was raised like either. his way of showing he loves draco is by spoiling the kid and buying him everything he wants. he even kinda praised draco's flying skills in 2nd year. draco said "my father thinks it's a crime that i'm not on the quidditch team" or something like that

and also if he was abusive, narcissa would've ended him right then and there no questions asked just for laying a hand on her dear son.

i've become so obsessed with lucissa lately because they're just so goddamn perfect yall

their devotion and love for each other gives me butterflies especially narcissa's protectiveness over lucius. she literally snapped at bellatrix and came at harry fricking potter because they insulted her beloved husband.

and i love how lucius sought approval from her when voldermort asked for his wand. this man was ordered by the devil himself to give up his wand but he still looked over to his wife for approval. like uhm i love that so much???? i got upset that they didn't put it in the movies especially the part where she reaches for his wrist because it shows more about them and their relationship y'know????

and the whole spoiling draco and babying him makes a lot of sense since i found out its canon that they wanted a big family with a heck load of kids to spoil but she had a lot of miscarriages and just settled with only draco. you can kind of see why narcissa spoils him so much and why lucius is so protective of him. he's the only child they have so of course they cherish his existence so much.

and i like to imagine that they were the fashion icons of the wizarding world because uhm have you seen them???

lucius is such an asshole to everyone and treats people like they're below him but he's such a gentle and attentive husband who buys his wife gifts all the time, showers her with morning kisses or brings her tea every morning, who loves and cherishes his wife so much that he can't even imagine life without her.

narcissa is this cold, arrogant lady who doesn't give a damn about anyone but her family. she would do whatever it takes to make sure that her husband and son are with her. dude she even lied to friggin voldermort just so she could know if her son was alive. she lied and deceived the ministry into believing her husband was under the imperius curse just so he could be free and be there with her to raise their son after the first war.

everything about them as people in general is fvcked up they are definitely not good people but ohmygod they're such a beautiful couple its sad we didn't get to see much interaction between them in the movies because i would've definitely loved them.

sometimes i just sit and imagine what it looked like through narcissa's pov when she and lucius were running through hogwarts as the war was happening.

they were literally wandless. had nothing to defend themselves with. voldy broke lucius's wand. narcissa gave hers to draco. they were completely vulnerable and could've become such easy targets in the middle of a battle field.

but they didn't care because the only thing that mattered to them was finding their son.

and that fact can simply end me right here

How do you think Narcissa would feel/react if she saw how so many fanfics involve Lucius being awful to her/Draco?

She would be horrified. Honestly, every time Narcissa speaks in the series, she’s defending Lucius or Draco or doing something to ensure their wellbeing. This woman loves her husband. She would be appalled to see the way he’s portrayed in fic, be it through infidelity, abuse (physical or verbal), treating her or their son like property, disrespecting women, etc. These are just portrayals I’ve seen recently, and as someone who has been writing from Narcissa’s POV for more than a decade, I’m appalled, so I think it’s very safe to say she would have some choice hexes lined up for the people who are portraying her husband this way. 

Let’s take a moment to think about Lucius. Actual Lucius, the way he’s written in the series. The one who was Voldemort’s right-hand man until Voldemort fell and… Lucius completely avoided looking for him, instead focusing on his family. He didn’t go running back when there were signs and “more than whispers” that Voldemort was going to return. Lucius, who instead spent the intervening years taking his son school supply shopping (with his wife, who is mentioned as being with them for this even back in the first book, but I digress) and complimenting his Quidditch skills. “Father says it’s a crime if I’m not picked to play for my house team.” Let’s look at this in itself. Considering Draco hasn’t attended school yet, he’s learned to play Quidditch at home, with the mother who sends him sweets constantly and the father who thinks it’s a crime if he isn’t picked to play for Slytherin. Lucius, who tried his damnedest to keep his twelve-year-old from touching the dark objects in Borgin & Burkes that could’ve hurt him. Lucius, who was so upset that Buckbeak hurt Draco that he had a trial for a hippogriff and got it sentenced to death because how dare that bird hurt his son. In fic, the “being awful” often comes in the form of infidelity, which makes zero sense with who he is as a person. The man wouldn’t even hand his wand over to someone who could kill him until reassured by his wife’s touch to do it. 

Now let’s think about Narcissa. This woman blatantly lied to the most powerful dark wizard of all time to protect Draco and snapped at her murderous sister for insulting Lucius. There is literally no way she would stay with someone she didn’t love or who hurt her or their child. She threatened the life of Mr. The Boy Who Lived because how dare he insult Lucius. Let’s be real. Narcissa would not hesitate to do the same or worse if she saw the way Lucius is portrayed by this fandom. He is not a saint, but he loves his family, and the fact that that is so often overlooked is sickening. It’s taking what’s fundamental to his character and disregarding it entirely, which leaves…? Not Lucius Malfoy. Narcissa is fiercely protective. If she had the opportunity, she would fight back when she saw people using her husband as fuel for angst by making him harm the people he loves or using him as a sex object.

TL;DR: Lucius Malfoy would not mistreat his wife or son, and Narcissa Malfoy would fight anyone who portrayed him as doing so.
